Wow

Unfortunately, the search for these witting or unwitting collaborators cannot even get started, because the Federal Reserve Board will not permit regional banks to reveal the identity of the purchasers of large blocks of United States currency. There is no law that prohibits such disclosure; it's simply a Fed policy.

Wright Patman Google Search

Check it out. I did a google news search on the terms "Wright Patman Federal Reserve."

Who was Wright Patman?

Wikipedia

John William Wright Patman (August 6, 1893 – March 7, 1976) was a U.S. Congressman from Texas in Texas's 1st congressional district and chair of the United States House Committee on Banking and Currency (1965–75).

He was also a bulldog locked onto the face of the Federal Reserve.

Some interesting finds so far:

"Full Watergate Probe is Nixed" - Patman was leading the charge:

MarketWatch.com: Bernanke probing Goldman's dealings with Greece

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/bernanke-probing-goldmans-d...

I'm going to ask a stupid question like I already don't know the answer but...

Why didn't Bernanke say anything about this when Dr. Paul questioned him about dealings with Greece and instead responded with his smug statement on how "absolutely bizzare" his statement was?

Unless Ron Paul! -Lorax

some think I am a troll???not so

I am a big supporter of ron..my friends think i am overboard..what i do not support is commercializaing the debate..its difficult to move ideas to conclusion and its best to choose your focus wisely ..its to easy in this age of instant info to fall into non issues.. so to who ever thinks I am a roll troll so be it ..thats your right to think that but just know that is exactly what the opposition wants ..internal disputes..thanks..

Audit The Fed!

Audit The Fed!

God Bless Dr. Paul & God Bless America!

Deception and Abuse at the Fed

Ron Paul should do another press conference with the author of this book. It was published by the University of Texas Press. The author is a professor at UT Austin.

The Federal Reserve--the central bank of the United States--is the most powerful peacetime bureaucracy in the federal government. Under the chairmanship of Alan Greenspan (1987-2006), the Fed achieved near mythical status for its part in managing the economy, and Greenspan was lauded as a genius. Few seemed to notice or care that Fed officials operated secretly with almost no public accountability. There was a courageous exception to this lack of oversight, however: Henry B. Gonzalez (D-TX)--chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services (banking) Committee.

Deception and Abuse at the Fed, Robert Auerbach, a former banking committee investigator, recounts major instances of Fed mismanagement and abuse of power that were exposed by Rep. Gonzalez, including:

  • Blocking Congress and the public from holding powerful Fed officials accountable by falsely declaring--for 17 years--it had no transcripts of its meetings;
  • Manipulating the stock and bond markets in 1994 under cover of a preemptive strike against inflation;
  • Allowing $5.5 billion to be sent to Saddam Hussein from a small Atlanta branch of a foreign bank--the result of faulty bank examination practices by the Fed;
  • Stonewalling Congressional investigations and misleading the Washington Post about the $6,300 found on the Watergate burglars.

Auerbach provides documentation of these and other abuses at the Fed, which confirms Rep. Gonzalez's belief that no government agency should be allowed to operate with the secrecy and independence in which the Federal Reserve has shrouded itself. Auerbach concludes with recommendations for specific, broad-ranging reforms that will make the Fed accountable to the government and the people of the United States.

If Ron Paul’s statement about the Watergate

connection and the Fed generates more publicity, it will be interesting to see the general public’s reaction. “The Plumbers” were not just some bunch of kids, but a team of cold-blooded killers, particularly Frank Sturgis, who worked for the government since the late 1940s. They were very involved in every heinous act in the Western Hemisphere during the 1950s and early 1960s.

Henry Gonzales knew very well with whom he was dealing during the investigation and where to look to find answers. If I am not mistaken, Ron Paul and Henry Gonzales had a respectful relationship and probably talked privately about issues like this, perhaps even some of the information that was never publically revealed.

If Dr. Paul is referencing Watergate in a high-profile hearing like this, I have no doubt that he is very well aware of the possible consequences of his statements.

a bunch of links here show Ron Paul's questions were appropriate

and showed the Fed had been stonewalling congress on information for some time. Ron Paul's point was about transparency, not about Watergate or Saddam.

See the links in the comment section to this article.

Overwhelming support for Ron Paul

Thanks for the link.

No wonder they Executed Saddam

They wouldn't want him pointing out who gave him all the goodies... and have you heard Noriega is still in jail... 2 years after his sentence is over... hmmm

... Or Did They?

hmmm...

If you get on the wrong side

If you get on the wrong side of these highly organized criminal sociopaths, you can end up in a federal prison or dead, or both. Ask Martin Armstrong, you can write to him at the Fort Dix federal prison where he served over 7 years for contempt and then, after an attempted murder and several months of solitary confinement, he pled guilty to a trumped up charge and got sentenced to another 5 years. I think the only way he'll get out is if the current corrupt incarnation of the federal government collapses (my hope, the sooner the better).

Investigative examination of the bank records of a Miami company run by Watergate burglar Bernard Barker revealed that an account controlled by him personally had deposited, and had transferred to it (through the Federal Reserve Check Clearing System) the funds from these financial instruments.

Here is a page from the

Here is a page from the Senate Watergate report that goes over some of the federal reserve information.

From what it appears some of the bills were given out by the federal reserve before the actual real shipments to the bank were made and that the federal reserve gave incorrect information on some of the money.

as per usual..there will NEVER BE ANY ..

FURTHER MENTION OF THIS TOPIC BY ANYONE ..RON OR BERNANKE.THESES EPISODES NEVER LEAD ANYWHERE... MOVE ON TO IMPORTANT MATTERS..

First

Please turn off your caps lock. It's the big key on the LHS of your keyboard that says "Caps Lock". Shouting is discouraged up in here.

Second, these things always come up again, and it is very important to address these attacks. This will be particularly important in an election year, comes the time. Bernanke is trying the last refuge of the unarmed man in a battle of wits. He's trying to portray Ron Paul, as does the MSM, as a 'kook', or 'fringe' by calling his remarks "bizarre". Bernanke doesn't deal with the remarks directly, he evades that via a rhetorical ploy.

This type of behavior just continues the broader trend of ad hominem arguments that are being used to *try* to discredit Dr. Paul. Attacking the man, not the message. As proponents of liberty, our job is to parry those attacks, and bring to light the truth behind Ron's remarks, if any. So that the real message of personal liberty can ultimately show through undistorted.

Dr. Paul could have done a better of job of providing some context to his remarks (I haven't heard or read the entire discussion so I don't know). Then those remarks might have been more to the point. But that doesn't justify having those remarks labelled 'bizarre'. Bernanke should have simply said "I don't know what you are referring to."

Troll

Why don't you move on..

I disagree

This is important. It's regarding Fed transparency, and it demonstrates that the Fed, at least in the past, might have been involved in scandals. Even if it isn't now, it proves the principle that the Fed needs to be audited.

RP is interviewed about his confrontations with Bernanke all the time. This was a larger than normal dust-up, and so I wouldn't be surprised if he's asked about this too.

There was already an article on Huffington Post supporting our position. It could get more media play, you never know.

as per usual..there will NEVER BE ANY ..

REASONABLE TO WONDER ..SO THAT IS WHAT MAY TRANSPIRE..

It seems like the media was gonna run with this, but then quit

I think they thought they had a Debra Medina moment on Ron Paul where all of them could finally agree that "yes, he's crazy, we knew it." The stories were coming out pretty fast at first ridiculing him, but some of the reporters must have seen their mistake, and then quietly tried to put the story back down the memory hole.

But oops, the cat's out of the bag. There was enough commotion that I'm expecting some interviewers to bring this up the next few times he's on TV. RP can simply respond by citing the sources (I hope he will have them ready). He never said that the reports were true; he simply said there were reports of these things. And there it is right there in the New York Times, (and the Watergate story in that other paper). Translation: RP was right, and the god Bernanke was wrong. Finally, we've got an absolutely clear example of it, and it's regarding knowledge of the Fed. I hope RP is able to use this effectively.

Most politicians let you down -- embarass you at some point

Yesterday was one of those times I held my breath for a second when Ron Paul popped a couple of seemingly "bizzare" questions at Bernanke.

But as usual, Ron Paul triggered a firestorm with nothing more than his SOP of getting at the truth.

I have never been embarassed or ashamed of Ron Paul.
I always feel very blessed to have known him and worked for him.
Its rare in any lifetime to be afforded the opportunity to have such a genuine servant in public office.

Bernanke, ostentatiously a student of the Fed before heading it, does the Congress and the public a disservice by disrespecting Congress with flippant, ignorant responses. Kudos to Chairman Frank for saying we need to followup on Dr. Paul's issues.
