Is The Universe A Mind? A Strange Correlation!
-Atronomers have calculated roughly 100 billion galaxies in the greatest image ever took of space by the Hubble Space Telescope in August of 2009 showing the visible universe.
-Astronomers have already calculated the number of stars in the Milky Way to be roughly 100 billion.
-There are 100 billion neurons in the human brain.
From the most distant matter to the smallest point in what we perceive as reality there is a correlation with the number 100 billion.
Maybe this tells us something!
Maybe this tells us that the universe is more of a mind than matter, and within our brain is an infinite universe.
Maybe this tells us that the reason the Universe has no ends is because the mind has no ends, the mind is infinite.
Maybe we are within the mind of God!
Does anybody else have any ideas to throw out.. I’m listening! I love experimenting with ideological space to relieve the political tension….feel free to share.

Naaa. No correlations here.
Look at our government. They waste 100 Billion dollars a month and they have no brains.
There are actually 80 billion
There are actually 80 billion galaxies, and the human brain contains 10-100 billion neurons. I have a number of additional criticisms of your point, including that arbitrary correlation between neurons and galaxies, and why would the universe correlate to a human brain? There are many intelligent brains of different sizes and neuron count.
can you provide a source for your numbers though
thanks!
The role of a farmer, in Fukuoka's mind, is an observer, not an intervener, of the natural order in his/her particular landscape. How is that any different than Hayek in regards to Economics?
Hmmm... didn’t know that.
This is not original though, I heard this from Allen Watts but it still provides interesting insight as to how to perceive the universe.
The Universe is infinite, the depths of ones mind is infinite, thus the universe existing as an idea seems more realistic than as tangible matter.
it is an awesome concept

If that is the case then is planet Earth a malignant tumor?
My attempt at humor!
haha
the only malignant tumor is the ones we are growing in our heads from to much stupid thinking, religions, poisons in our food and water and air might as well add tv to this list and most modern formal academics and fake doctors lawyers fake governments. number one cause of the tumor though, false love.
Thanks, bookmarked
a lot to think about and consider.

Wow thats a pretty interesting post, I dont personally agree with all the numbers scientists do (probably lots more galaxies and stars) but I like where your going with your post and your correct, but theres a little more to the story, but to find that you must first ground yourself in that truth, that the mind is made of the infinate substance like our hearts our bodies the stars and the earth, everything perceivable and that beyond perception is made up of the "infinate" which since its infinate is undefinable like god or truth or life or death, otherwise it wouldnt be infinate. The problem with synchronizing with the infinate is that we are controlled by our thinking. no? Anyone who has an idea about what that infinate is, will not know what it is beyond reason or cause or ideation, because it cannot be fathomed by our knowledge since we cannot experience it while we are blinded by our own selfish thought so we stay thirsty for that deep well from which we come we exist in now and obviously go back to (as if we were anywhere else haha).
Stay grounded in your truth negate everything that is not true from you and that includes time, ideas of past, present, future, thinking, and the rest of the nonsense everyone makes us go through (including ourselves from time to time lol). Without drugs mind you. If you want that is. In peace and love oh and the beauty of the possability of RON PAUL 2012! Juan

Many have explored the remarkable convergence between the mystical traditions of the world and modern science. However, none of them has done this in a more succinct and convincing way than Einstein and Buddha; this remarkable collection of quotes by famous Eastern mystics and modern physicists is a fascinating contribution to the emerging paradigm.
-Stanislav Grof, author of The Cosmic Game
and Psychology of the Future
This anthology provocatively illustrates the points of convergence between the quantitative investigation of the objects of consciousness and the qualitative exploration of consciousness itself.
-B. Alan Wallace, author of The Taboo of Subjectivity:
Toward a New Science of Consciousness
Einstein and Buddha provides deep, simple and quotable insights that should help mend the rift between science and spirituality. If you put your thumbs over the quotation sources, you won't be able to tell who said what, when.
-Fred Alan Wolf, Ph.D., physicist and author of
Mind into Matter, The Spiritual Universe
Einstein and Buddha is an inspired effort to meet the 21st-century challenge of developing a synthetic world view. McFarlane juxtaposes quotations from Eastern contemplatives and Western scientists with insight, clarity and intellectual integrity.

This just makes me feel bad
I wonder how many galaxies I wiped out smoking weed when I was younger. I wonder if there is a correlation with the 6 million chosen ones that keep disappearing. So much to ponder, so little time.
No... weed protects your brain
I know there are studies listed in Emporer Wears No Clothes but if I think of one I can link you to I will be sure to post it up.

Cannibinoids are brain chemicals
Like Serotonin, Epinephrine and Dopamine.
It is linked to hunger and well being. And an active ingredient in weed.
Free includes debt-free!
I've actually read the EWNC
That is very interesting and wouldn't surprise me at all. I'll look into it on my own, but if you find something good, I'd be interested to read it.

Isn't that cool?
That the layout of the Universe is in filaments like that?
There are other pictures out there too, that show the similarities.

That makes me think a lot!
And I am a great thinker so this is just fucking fantastic, lol!
I wonder if there is a universal purpose to why Cannabis protects the sheath on your neurons from malforming over time which allows your brain to develop more efficiently. Maybe that is why Cannabis users are more inclined to horizontally integrate their intelligence and expand their reason rather than vertically integrate intelligence and narrow the scope of reason. Wow.. that is a third eye opener big time!

Univerasal mind
To quote Albert Einstein," Reality is a illusion, albeit a persistent one ". and, "Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream".
heh.
is the universe ~mind~?
lol. why, yes it is.
Your concept that the
Your concept that the Universe is a construct from/of Mind is not new. Such concepts have been held since ancient times and are now experiencing a strong come back.

No I know... most of what I said came from Allen Watts
But it is important to keep the DP aware so we can continuously highten our level of reasoning
The role of a farmer, in Fukuoka's mind, is an observer, not an intervener, of the natural order in his/her particular landscape. How is that any different than Hayek in regards to Economics?
Maybe
Maybe words and concepts and other symbolic constructs of the limited human mind are utterly incapable of containing the unlimited human mind or the unlimited universal mind.
just sayin'
Oh wow! It seems right doesn’t it.
And seeing how linguistics is just a narrowing of the spectrum in order to compartmentalize reality adds some weight to your idea. To communicate with the universal mind is beyond language and beyond the reasoning of the system we have artificially created. To enlighten the mind and expand our reasoning may provide the communicative skills necessary to contact a universal mind.
All DPer’s should meditate, pray, or do whatever it takes to raise our level of awareness so as to reason with the universe instead of against it.
