Bizarre? Now this is bizarre!

From yesterday's exchange between Ron Paul and Ben Bernanke:

Ron Paul: ...a lot of cash was passed through - and a lot of people suppose it was passed through the Federal Reserve - when there was a provisional government [in Iraq] after the 2003 invasion. That money was not appropriated by the Congress as required by law...

Ben Bernanke: Congressman, these specific allegations you've made are absolutely bizarre, and I have no knowledge of anything remotely like what you just described.

Let's ask Henry Waxman (July 2009)

Henry Waxman: In a 13 month period from May 2003 to June 2004, the Federal Reserve sent nearly $12 billion in cash, mainly in $100 bills from the United States to Iraq. To do that, the Federal Reserve Bank in New York had to pack 281 million individual bills ... onto wooden pallets to be shipped to Iraq. The cash weighed more than 363 tons and was loaded onto C-130 cargo planes to be flown into Baghdad...

Bizarre? Yes, I think something very bizarre is going on.

Lets do something really signifigant here! We should all make phone calls to our elected officials! We should wave signs! We should all tell Mr. Bernake that he's been very very very naughty and that the next time he lies about stealing money from all of us that we'll do even more, like add one or two more verys or perhaps even call him a do-doo head! That'll show 'em!

No wonder the people in control don't even bother with the K-Y before they bend the populace at large over...

I think Ron Paul was talking about OTHER cash that was sent directly to Saddam BEFORE we went over there.

This money being discussed can be rationalized away because we needed it to execute a war.

We need to stay on these reps asses to come up with the details on the secret money for Saddam that went over there before we invaded.

You have made a very good point here. I would also be tickled to see anyone come up with Watergate-era speculations by journalists that the Fed was tied to Watergate as such, and to see if perchance how unsurprisingly(unbizarre) such allegations may have been recieved by those in Washington at the time.

And the chairman of the Fed Reserve has no earthly idea what RP is talking about. Instead he tries to mock him.

RP is too, too nice. We needed Grayson, the Florida Democrat to rough up Ben on these issues.

But I know, RP's gentlemanly demeanor has got him to where he is.
