Very interesting interview with Jacque Fresco, creator of the Venus Project

For those of you who have seen the 2nd Zeitgeist film, this is the guy from the Venus Project, a social model to redesign society and create a more ideal world.

It's totally NOT world government because there would be no government, only total freedom.

Check out this video interview. The guy is a mastermind.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, I recommend his film Future by Design. It's all about the Venus Project.

Technocratic communism. Get

Technocratic communism. Get rid of capitalism and we will get rid of scarcity...where have I heard that before?

Ventura 2012

Russia Today

Also take note that this story is carried by RT. Do you really think the communist culture has disappeared even though Russia's communism failed. Of course not. Just like US free market culture has not disappeared even though the free markets were all but killed circa 1913.

+1

In 100% agreement with you there.

~Live life to its fullest, with an open heart, open arms and most important... an open mind~

How does one trade goods and

How does one trade goods and services in a "resource based" economy?

What's the medium of exchange?

Or is everything so advanced that we have robots making all of our goods and services for free?

Resources would be made

Resources would be made available to all, eliminating theft.

Joη's picture

no ownership

has repeatedly shown to result in no care.

"You underestimate the character of man." | "So be off now, and set about it."

A dream

It has never happened in the past and will never happen in the future,It is not in the human DNA.Actually not in the DNA of any creature.

"You go and carry off the enemy's land; the enemy comes and carries off your land"-Ancient Sumerian tablet

Alternative reality utopias never work.

How often do we have to argue the same point in history? If you want to live in such a way, give him all your money and possessions and do so. But for some people having another person make decisions for you, where you live, how you live, and what you are allowed to do, is quite scary.

The only way to achieve equality is in poverty. (Remember that scarcity thing?) There is no universal middle class. Everybody benefits from somebody else. There is democracy in poverty, but there is no self contained influence. Those who direct or control resources, control everything! Just look at America. I mean this is a Rockefeller NWO wet dream... People choosing to live as slaves. I mean this is as transparent as it gets.

Until somebody answers the question of: "In this society what happens if you disagree..." I reserve my right to ignore it.

Total freedom to serve the machines

No government. Only a central authority to keep everyone on task. Only 18 year-olds, acid heads, and sheep buy this garbage.

I think you're judging him

I think you're judging him based on this interview. There is no central authority and people wouldn't be conditioned to think they need one to keep them in line.

I think it's worthwhile to watch Future by Design. It shows the capabilities that we already have that we're unable to put to use, thanks to greed.

We are judging him based on his principles

He clearly supports the principle of a "no money society". That is a deal breaker. As I specified in my comment below HONEST money and private accounting is a necessity of a just society.

I agree with you that even with our current technology humanity is capable of increasing the general life style ten fold. We are being held back. But Greed is not the root cause of this, Injustice is the root cause.

Constituionalists are not anti-government they are anti-corrupt government. This means scratching Legal Tender laws like Ron Paul advocates as well as other changes that allow people to live as they please without unreasonable interferences or being intimidated to pay taxes to corrupt criminal institutions.

BTW Ron Paul was on Gold Seek Radio:

Acid

People can still get decent doses of acid? Man, I am getting old.

Buckminster Fuller

He sounds like some of the writings of Buckminster Fuller. I think it was in Critical Path where Fuller lays out a description of a similar world.

This elder is a sweet old man, but he is being used as a drug.

This is NOT freedom and don't get sucked into his 'drawings' and illustrations of sci fi buildings. This guy has been lavishly funded to do what he and his 'protege' whoeversheis, have been up to.

This is post mass trauma (9/11) delusion. It is geared to the youth because it is like a drug to induce a state of delusion.

Older people see right through this.

These are part of the world socialist apparatchik. I'll bet his 'protege' is his handler to make sure he doesn't start to slip out of his 'state'.

How repugnant and repulsive these bastards are who are behind them.

Whoa Whoa Whoa!

Hold up! Common heritage? No Money?

I am not sure about everything this guy says. He says Communism uses money. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't agree. Pure Communism is all about a society with no money - all resources are allocated by central planners so no money is required. This means keeping private accounts is made totally illegal - thats what money is for balancing private accounts.

But what is wrong with keeping private accounts of your capital and your exchanges? Humans should strive to channel their own energy which is the purpose of private accounting. It is the responsibility of each individual to channel their own energy. That is an integral part of living! They need to keep private accounts to do this carefully. Why shouldn't they keep their own accounts and balance them with money? An honest system of money is not evil.

Capital exists. It is just a part of nature such as resources, human energy and tools etc. How you account for flows of capital defines Capitalism.

Free market capitalism means total private accounting is allowed. That means interference in many markets is mostly not possible. People can trust each other and keep their own accounts (credit) - or balance the account by exchanging gold and silver or other products. This is their private system of accounting for exchanges of energy.

Many people have lost the true meaning of capitalism and incorrectly identify free market capitalism with socialist capitalism. Socialism is not the opposite of capitalism, it is a kind of capitalism. Socialist Capitalism uses money but does not allow total private accounting though may allow some private accounting. By demanding transparency of private accounts to varying degrees it can apply interferences. Socialism is easier to enforce than Communism and serves the integration of government interference and corporatism better known as Fascism - the most extreme form of Socialist Capitalism.

Socialist Capitalism is pretty much the current situation in most of the world to varying degree - including China. As opposed to this, free market capitalism mostly existed in the USA from about 1800-1900 and has been smothered and allowed to work less and less since because self-sufficency makes parasites irrelevent and they hate that. So they turn to corrupting the public force to steal energy. The solution is to turn attention to your courts and fix the due process of law to ensure perfection of justice. Which is what Ron Paul and the Constitutionalists are working on! :-P

I can see your point

But one interview can't paint the whole picture of Jacque Fresco. The problem Jacque Fresco sees with money is that in order for it to work, it has to be scarce. That means some "have" while others MUST NOT, that's what gives it value. It also pits ALL OF US against each other. You can see what happens when it becomes abundant, it loses value. It always gives a select few the upper hand and it eventually corrupts a system and you have to start all over again like we have been doing for thousands of years. It's like a massive pyramid scheme and you just better hope you are born into it somewhere near the top because everyone at the bottom loses out.

I see Jacque Fresco's concepts as a future part of our creation, he just has been able to tap into it so far in advance that it seems rediculous because we can't see the steps in between. No different from our founders vision of a free nation, that so many saw as extreme or inviable. It was a new idea, which we have been working out all the kinks since its conception. This nation did not perfectly fit the principles of The Constitution when it was first created. Practicing slavery was the exact opposite of a free nation, yet it wasn't abolished until Lincoln, the 16th president. We can't imagine success without money, the way many early American's couldn't imagine success without slavery.

There is no skipping steps. Ron Paul's efforts are the next step, a final full manisfestation of the founders vision. Free market, limited government, sound money and everything else he is trying to educate us on. These things will launch us far into the future. Once these principles are embraced the next phase would likely lead us to no government, and no money. That is...as we know it. Then those like Jacque Fresco's ideas become viable and eventually an era of our advancement but he will never live to see it.

No doubt it would go through the woes of development, like mindless technology forcing us to be good, and the enslavment of free-thinking technology, new forms of tyranny, etc. And the phony-becks of the future shaking their fists and saying, "this is not what our founder Jacque Fresco invisioned!" And on and on and on, like always and forever.

"It could all be preventable, but we yield to the temptation of a free lunch." Ron Paul
