The Four Stages of Revolution

"Pop culture elements with Libertarian themes" as quoted by the author.

He is also the author of today's LRC article 'The Simpsons against the State'

Both are highly recommended. BUT the final scenes of the Four Stages of Revolution are quite violent and not to my taste......

Cool video...

I don't agree with everything presented in it but worth the watch and very inspiring.

Does anyone know the name of the movie about Rome and the movie with the kid from spiderman? Seen all the rest and would really like to see these two!

The Patriot and Braveheart are, I believe two of the greatest movies of all time! I have watched them over and over! They always inspire me...

Ride with the Devil with Toby Maguire.

This is one movie I really enjoyed as I live in southern Missouri and it is well done. The movie is part love story and part historical bushwhacker action. When the revolution or civil war comes, I think it will more resemble the Civil War in Missouri than any possible large battlefield engagements.

One of the interesting real life characters, who perhaps did not achieve the fame of Jesse James, William Cantrell, Coleman Younger, and others, is Sam Hildebrand. Read about his odyssey at this site:

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

Henry are you close to Sikeston?

I'm in southeast Mo (Bootheel). Just wondering.

Not a flatlander.

South Central Missouri, in the Ozark Mountains (if you dare to call the mounds of rocks "moountains") is a more apt description.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

Thanks Henry!

I just found it on youtube! Now I have something to watch tonight!
Heres the link for anyone else who hasn't seen it:

I am reading the page you linked now, sound VERY interesting! Thanks again!

Trust in God, but tie your camel tight.

Semi-random thoughts...

There are several examples of the IRA shown in this video. I keep seeing a lot of stuff like this related to the IRA lately: http://news.ino.com/headlines/?newsid=20820100746

There are some references to guerrilla tactics in the videos. I've heard rumors over the years that the following books are good reading on that particular subject...

Minimanual Of The Urban Guerrilla

U.S. Army Counterguerrilla Operations Handbook

Fighting in the Streets: A Manual of Urban Guerrilla Warfare

Guerrilla Warfare Weapons: The Modern Underground Fighters' Armory

Guerrilla and Special Forces Operation: FM 31-21

Handbook For Volunteers Of The Irish Republican Army: Notes On Guerrilla Warfare

...but, of course, for the public record, I wouldn't know first-hand. :-)

Guard with jealous attention the public liberty.

Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.

- Patrick Henry

Very impressive!

Now I don't feel so alone.

When the pain of going along to get along exceeds the pain coming from civil conflict, nature will take her course, but for now it is just a matter waiting and watching, while the pressure builds.

We clearly are in a crisis period similar to the crisis periods that led up to the American Revolution (1776) and the US Civil War (1861). A crisis period, beginning with the 1929 financial collapse led to US participation in WWII beginning in 1941; getting us into international war probably prevented a third nation threatening civil conflict. Notice the regularity of these crisis periods followed by nation threatening conflicts, as described in "The Fourth Turning" (85 years, 80 years, and 2021 would be another 80 years).

If you count the beginning of the current crisis period as the bursting of the real estate bubble circa 2007, and consider the crisis period will likely culminate in the next American civil conflict (civil war or revolution), then the violence stage should erupt about 2020, but this would just be an approximation; it could come sooner.

I find it hard to imagine that this time the anger against the tyranny of our government could be defused by another world war. The anti government sentiment seems to me to be building. Ron Paul seemingly came out of the blue. And now people are beginning to openly talking about things like secession, revolution, reassertion of the 10 amendment powers of States, etc. And the economic pain from the plunder and control of government and special interests is just in the early stages as the fraudulent monetary system slowly implodes, and government seeks to expand.

Yes, it is coming.

Nail on the head

Thanks, Henry.
