If evil people would take advantage of freedom, then wouldn't they also take advantage of government?

I heard many people in my lifetime childishly say that if we didn't have a government many people would start shooting each other and take advantage of the people, yet when the government has a monopoly on force, what makes you think that those same "evil" people wouldn't take advantage of the government?

Why such a double standard?

yea I have also

heard this bullsh*t....people with freedom can protect themselves from this type of evil...people under a government are left to be protected by the very evil that rules over them....but when you try to tell people this they can't makes sense of the logic in the argument...

That is why

citizens must be eternally vigilant, and educated.

The alternative is anarchy which is absurd.

If the people are slothful, then their karma comes upon them, for which get the government we deserve.

I would say that our current

I would say that our current system is Anarchy...

History shows us that it is standard operating procedure for every government to incrementally remove the people's rights and eventually it becomes destructive to its own people. That's what governments have always done and that's what they'll continue to do because as long as any institution has a monopoly on force, that force will inevitably be abused.

Personally, I don't believe there could ever be a long lasting limited government... It's just not realistic.
