Is Rick nicknamed Dirty?

Is Rick nicknamed Dirty? Because he certainly seems so

Wow, I am very impressed with

Wow, I am very impressed with the way Rand Paul answers these questions. We all know that the movement needs principled conservatives who stand for the right things, and who ALSO know how to talk the talk and navigate political waters.

Mark my words, this guy is going to get elected. The way he speaks has mainstream appeal, his principles give him reLOVEution appeal. Very well put-together.

I know we all talk about Ron Paul 2012; that would make us feel warm inside, but I think we all know that he would not get elected. Ron Paul started the fire, and he will always be our shining example, but I see THIS man as having real presidential potential further down the line.

Anyone who wants Rand Paul to be more bluntly libertarian doesn't understand how to get elected.

I'm just worried that we are

I'm just worried that we are going to start a real war with Iran in 2-3 years to "fix" unemployment, and all Rand will do is ask for a declaration. Ron is anti-war and pro-declaration. Rand's only position is to be pro-declaration.

Ventura 2012

You Like Apples ?

One is a current member of the house.
The other is running to be a member.
BIG difference.

Formal declaration would decrease the "Yeas" and Rand would vote "Nay" (as is) anyhow.

So, your "worried" about another NO vote on a declaration of war with Iran ?

I'd be more worried about: Ventura 2012
How do you like them apples ?

Formal declaration would

Formal declaration would decrease the yeas but increase the likelihood of a draft.

I hope he would vote nay but I'm not so sure.

I've donated $200 bucks to him(a lot on my salary), so don't take me as totally anti-Rand.

Why would you worry about something that likely won't happen?

Ventura 2012

circular logic?

I don't know.

But wouldn't a formal declaration of war (with Iran) also decrease the likelihood of a draft also?

Lukewarm support for another war would multiply the 'Nays' for a draft by a factor of 10 and weigh back into the original vote in my opinion.

Again, I don't know.

What I DO know is This: I would trust Rand to make these decisions once he's elected and begins representing.

"Rhetoric" is not always bad word.

*clink* Cheers

Let me put it this way: I

Let me put it this way:

I don't trust Rand.

I don't have a choice but to support Rand with everything I have.

I don't think they're mutually exclusive.

Ventura 2012

One thing that I agree with

One thing that I agree with most in this post is how RP started the fire.

He has. As far as I'm concerned, his job is done. It is simply awesome that he continues on. God bless Ron Paul.

Rand did answer better than usual in this interview.

I think Rick

uses the wrong abbreviated form of Richard...

perusing the comments it

perusing the comments it seems a few feel that Rand must "walk a fine line"
And others feel as I do that he needs to simply be straight forward and answer or at least address the question.

I just started watching the video and the very first question came, it was a direct question... "You agree with mr bunning right?:

Now Dr Paul was asked similarly as this recently and he answered the question to the effect of; I don't know how i would stand on the particulars but my philosophical stance is dot te da te da.

The point is he Answered/addressed the question. Rand on the other hand goes off on some rant that sounded completely politician like; not really saying anything.

I'm really getting tired of this avoidance and Rand is far from Ron... but he is still a better choice than the other choices... (aka I still support him..)

And I feel that Ron Paul certainly didn't start off life as a politician which such great ammunition he now carries but I bet he was always straight forward and answered the questions directly.

We do not need the old ways.. if you try to play their game.. you are going to lose.
Yes they are trying to trap and label him but I still feel being trapped can be ignored if you stick to straight forward integrity as the good Dr does.

Lol you need to prove that theory

"if you try to play their game you are going to lose"
scott brown played their game and won.. rand is anti patriot act AND not very aggressive on foreign policy, but he was able to win the old republicans over with rhetorics.. that's huge, and it's obviously a result from his years of political training since young. time and time again it's proven that nitpicking fails. think medina. the nitpickers on DP need to prove first they're even remotely political relevant before giving out what seems like political suicide advice. i go on c4l website a lot more now. i just can't take the comments here seriously anymore. i think the people who hang around dp are generally older people that suffer from the similar cerebral degeneration the partisan left and right suffer from. dpers aren't smart either, they just happen to have a libertarian leaning. but you want them to accomplish anything greater than internet armchair critique? forget about it. give good advice in politics? HA.

my heart wouldn't break if

my heart wouldn't break if you adopt c4l.

calling dp'ers not smart.. aka stupid is armchair internet critique. Hypocrite!

hows this for another wild theory that needs proving (by you)
If you do play their game and win it's because you are one of them!
Scoot Brown is an establishment republican, yes the dems lost but it means nothing. and yes establishment is a bad word.

i'm not sure

where that irrelevant response comes from. i don't know you nor do i have the interest to, and you certainly don't know anything about me. why would you care if i stay, and why would i to you. that goes without saying, and we can drop that subject. the point is, as i pointed out, that facts contradicted your ridiculous theory in somehow suggesting political wisdom doesn't apply when it comes to playing with the existing rules and of course without compromising core principles. any other side comments i made were in reference to a minority who share your level of junveile political observance.. perhaps i made an error in saying that quality applies to general dp'ers. (and quite a few have been coming here less and less as they admitted, mind you about that nonchalant comment you made) my comment only referred to you and a few others. you could certainly do with more of your level of thinking and have the rest go somewhere else, but it won't do for the movement. btw you talk like a 13 year old. ya that's a stereotype. now ignore my larger point and go on another poorly written rant.

Can Somebody

~
Can Somebody Explain Rick Sanchez to Me?
Real Clear Politics | Mar 2, 2010

"... Apparently, I am not the only one scratching my head as to how and why Sanchez was ever let near a place that dabbles in news.

Since I first saw him on the screen, I have tried to understand why he is in front of the camera peddling news, and not behind it keeping his big mouth shut...

He is not smart, and he is not witty.

He's the neighbor who shows up at your barbecue uninvited, and never stops talking from the minute he gets there ... "

Rand needs to

cut the crap and explain exactly what he thinks is the "national defense", as well as the Constitutional implications of his view. I know, and you all know what he's going to say already.
I really tried to like this guy, and I know a lot of you love him, if for nothing else, but for his last name. To advocate small government at home, while at the same time advocating "national defense" abroad manifested in nation building and thousands of innocent people killed is truly wanting to have your cake and eat it.
"War is the health of state", and for as long there's war, there's always a big government. Seems to me like Rand is trying to have his cake and eat it too.
As far as Sanchez...no need to even bother with him. Lost cause.

In Liberty!

a lot in your crowd hates rand

doesn't really matter though. he has proven he doesn't need help from those who try to nitpick him. he has drawn enough support from old republicans to potentially pull off a landslide WITH anti patriot act AND at least a not very aggressive foreign policy. that's huge in a republican state. he has different positions than his father's in gray areas of the constitution, but he follows it closely where it is clearly defined. the bottom line is he will do a lot of good in the congress. a lot of dpers are just down right stupid if not crazy anyway. they can just give a shit about medina because some little thing she said that ticked them off. whatever. these people's opinions are totally irrelevant. rand actually gained popularity when the conspiracy crowd moved away from him because of gitmo. congratulations to him on that.

He is

playing their game with their rules. That is how we win.

do you think ron paul, in his

do you think ron paul, in his first year leading up to his first victory was standing around firing off absolutes, and bold statements?

of course not. he probably had to walk a narrow line on some touchy subjects those many moons ago, and on issues that he could resonate, he was probably a little more vocal.

i imagine that ron paul came across EXACTLY like this in 1975.

ron put in years of tireless work and earned his right to pound it home.

and when i mean "earned", i'm saying that his reputation is above reproach by the people in his district, so that even if half of his district is war mongers, they'd rather have an anti-war honest ron paul, then a lying sack of crap war monger replacing him.

rand isn't at this point yet, he's on the ground in KY, he knows the people, he knows that he'll have to have some sound reasoning to take an anti-war stand.

he's already slipping it in there too. he keeps talking about money, he keeps talking about the economy. he keeps talking about fiscal policy.

you're not very good at reading between the lines, and your definitely incapable of appreciating the delicate line he must walk.

people are fickle. people are impatient. people aren't that smart.

just look at what happened to us in texas. for an example of not-too-smart.

as for an example of "fickle' and "impatient"

look at your very own post.

I agree with you

He will get in by walking the line of sensibility.

It always amazes me

It always amazes me when I see this scum of the earth with his own show on CNN.
This is how I came to know of Rick Sanchez as he was a local news anchor here in South Florida when I was a kid.

http://www.bartcop.com/rick-sanchez-dwi.htm

And now he has a show on CNN?WTF?
Just goes to show you the morality of these news stations.

I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees...

i agree, rick is a prick.

i agree, rick is a prick.

Rick Sanchez is a piece of shit.

This was a thinly veiled attack, not an interview. Sanchez does this all the time.

Context matters, I wonder what he was selling right before he had Rand Paul on? The part we don't see in this video?

Probably how "horrible" Senator Bunning is, and that's why he wanted to get Rand Paul on record agreeing with Bunning.

Wasn't a fan

I didn't like Rick's demeanor during the interview. He acted nonchalantly toward Rand and was more interested in tyring to corner Rand instead of discussing the topic. I really dislike how he was trying to equate Rand with all the republicans we've had in office.

THEY ONLY INVITE THE FATHER AND THE SON TO TRAP THEM

THESE SLEAZY TALKING HEADS ARE PAYED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO CARRY OUT AN AGENDA NOT UNLIKE OUR POLITICIANS THAT TAKE MONEY FROM LOBBIESTS..

THEY ONLY INVITE RON AND RAND TO MARGINALIZE THEM AND TO TRAP THEM INTO SAYING THINGS THAT WILL HURT THEIR POLITICAL FUTURES..

ITS ALL A GAME AND RON AND RAND PLAY IT WELL..

HOWEVER, THE TALKING HEADS FROM CNN, FOX AND PMSNBC WILL NEVER GIVE UP TRYING TO DESTROY MEN OF INTEGRITY AND CREDIBILITY...

RICK SANCHEZ NEEDS THE RATINGS..CNN IS IS ALMOST LAST IN RATINGS AND THAT INCLUDES "WOLF" BLITZER..

BTW..RAND DID VERY WELL..HE EXPLAINED QUITE SIMPLY THAT WE NEED TO TAKE MONEY ALREADY SPEND..(ITS THE STIMULUS STUPID)

ALSO, I LIKED IT WHEN RAND BROUGHT UP THE FACT THAT THE SENATE DON'T LIVE BY THE RULES THEY MAKE...

RAND PAUL IS MY SENATOR !!

Check my post above and

Check my post above and you'll see where this scum comes from.
Local scum has made it national and with his own show...unreal.

I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees...

You Like This BS Interview?????

Thank You Daddy's Son??????

Do you mind me calling you Ron Pauls' Son?

Little box at the bottom "Ron Paul's Son"

Are you guys serious??????

They won't let this man be a man and you like this interview!

Listen, he can never progress as long as he is depicted as daddy's son.

In any case it's not a big deal to me, although he is very much knowledgeable on current events he's no Ron Paul.

I am not Ron Paul and I could be Ron Paul's son better than Ron Paul's son!

This guy agrees that people should be tried at guantanamo man.......

He doesn't realize that what happens overseas one day will happen here.

Ron Paul would know this!

Why did they make Dr. Paul green?

Also a voice sync problem.

Anyone else notice that Ron and Rand get this treatment often.

Free includes debt-free!

Despite Sanchez

I thought it was a good interview :-)

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

does sanchez even listen to his guests?

right after rand paul explained that we should be using stimulus money instead of adding to the debt, sanchez asked why he wanted to deny people unemployment benefits.. this guy is a nut!
