Put it in Perspective!

Let's put this into its proper PERSPECTIVE.

In the 2008 Republican Primary season, we were basically a "single-digit movement", meaning that in almost all cases, our support was less than 10%. In many states, it was down around 1-2%

In TWO SHORT YEARS, we have now officially pulled a "double digit" 18% result in one of the biggest states of the country, TEXAS.

We're now a "double-digit movement". That's about 100% growth, or even more, in 24 months time. That means that there are at least twice as many people out there who would vote for freedom and truth, than we had 2 years ago.

That represents a BIG GROWTH, and means BIG things for our causes as we move forward.

We didn't have a "loss".
We had a very big gain.

It just needs to be bigger, so there's more work to do. In 2012, we will have even better chances, because we're starting out with a much bigger base in 2010, and there's 2 more years to go until 2012.

If we can double our results again in 2 years time, like we did between 2008-2010, it will be near 30-40%.
And that, my friends, can win elections.

This thing is "do-able". Just because it didn't happen this time, doesn't mean it can't work next time.

Keep the faith, and keep up the hard work.

Now that is what I like to

Now that is what I like to hear!

Here's a big LIBERTY BUMP for ya!

...

I was saying nearly the same

I was saying nearly the same thing earlier today - how excited I am for next campaign season because our numbers have grown so much more that they will not be able to marginalize us next time.

Good post.

You got Style

Very nice!

Obviously 2 wars, an

Obviously 2 wars, an insurmountable deficit and the erosion of our natural rights isn't enough for some. People will need to suffer a great deal more before they start to wise up.
Under Perry, I predict we will suffer greatly. Let the pain come I say. We will be standing by with the cure.

"The United States can pay any debt it has because we can always print money to do that." — Alan Greenspan

FORGIVE ME MR. NYSTROM...BUT IT'S ALL OVER..WE NEEED TO WIN !!

It's Too late To Prepare For Another Campaign In Two To Three Years...The Republicans Blew It And So Now They Will Become SLAVES TO PERRY AND THE ELITES THAT CONTROL HIM...

UNDERSTAND, THERE WILL BE NO NEXT TIME..WE ARE BROKE, THERE IS NO INDUSTRIAL BASE AND ALL THE WRONG PEOPLE ARE CONTROLLED BY THE INTERNATIONAL BANKERS WHO OWN THE WORLDS NATURAL RESOURCES..

REMEMBER THE BIBLICAL HAND WRITING ON THE WALL..

AMERICA HAS BEEN CONQUERED..AMERICANS WILL BECOME SLAVES OR DIE TRYING TO OVERCOME THEIR TASK MASTERS..

To your first point:

You should study some more of the Austrian school and the history to back it - humans, once they break free of government hold - even the most dire of circumstances - can amazingly innovate and rebuild what was lost to magnificent ends.

Japan is a great example - they were completely decimated by the war, had no natural resources, and had to rebuild. This is when the government was much much smaller, and as such they became the world's largest EXPORTER within 25 years, and in the top 3 GDP. Someone from government would think "that's not even possible! How can they export when they have no resources TO export?"

They are near the trough of the latest cycle of government and monetary intervention and I suspect Japan will have a generation of liberty warriors who will take up the torch over there that has been left fizzling for decades.

In America, the situation will be even more magnificent, because this country has an actual HISTORY of liberty and libertarian founding. Trust me when I say this, history has proven that people will do phenomenal things when left to their own devices (once they have abolished the State).

And it will happen - we are dealing with central planning, which ultimate fails in every and all instance. It's only a matter of time. We just need to be there to give these lecherous parasites the last push down and keep kicking them until they won't get up....

America most likely will not die trying to fight - every dictator knows it would be SUICIDE to invade the US - over 100 million guns. More than any standing army on earth. Plus the invaders would have the disadvantage of central planning (yup, there's that again), and unfamiliar terrain.

I am filled with hope. It always comes undone, and at least this time (first time in history) there are a multitude of well-armed people waiting to pick up the pieces once it does.

Derek.

"Ron Paul Effect"

~
Gee, there's a name for it now ... :-)

I wanted to link jczeroman's supporting forum
to this this one ... on the "Ron Paul Effect" ...

http://www.dailypaul.com/node/127757

"[The Ron Paul Effect] is the seeming paradox of influence and power that comes when a grassroots candidate loses an election. I believe this happens if the candidate awakes a substantial philosophical change in voters, not merely convincing them to vote for them in the short-term, but convincing them to adopt a set of principles and beliefs for the long-term ... "

One of my FB friends pointed out the Freedom is on the Move

in Texas in spite of Debra not winning. He was referring to the ballot measures that were voted on. Can some Texans fill us in?
What were the ballot measures?

Ballot Proposition #2:

Ballot Proposition #2: Controlling Government Growth

Every government body in Texas should be required to limit any annual increase in its budget and spending to the combined increase of population and inflation unless it first gets voter approval to exceed the allowed annual growth or in the case of an official emergency.

Yes 536,778 92%
No 46,227 8%

Ballot Proposition #3: Cutting Federal Income Taxes

In addition to aggressively eliminating irresponsible federal spending, Congress should empower American citizens to stimulate the economy by Congress cutting federal income taxes for all federal taxpayers, rather than spending hundreds of billions of dollars on so-called "federal economic stimulus".

Yes 545,706 93%
No 40,120 7%

Great Points

What do they say - the first 15% is the hardest...

Another thing to point out - 2010 isn't over:
Rand Paul, Jake Towne, Adam Kokesh, RJ Harris, and Many More - I can't help but laugh every time I see Patrick Henry Sellers shit eating grin with "because we can't shoot the bastards..." so elequently stated next to his pic.

The other thing is - what else am I gonna do?

Medina's result

was six points higher than I projected. I thought a "can't win" voter attitude would depress her numbers below Rassmussen's 16% figure. Certain most of the media tried their best to feed that attitude.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

low turnout

with only 11% of registered voters actually voting, think of how many "would-be" medina voters probably stayed home because of the "can't win" attitude. we have the numbers, we just need them to stay the course and stay positive!

also agree

Considering Becks smear job and the media portrayal of her as an extremist. Most people still listen to a politicians rhetoric and she was running against someone who advocated secession. As much as Perry might be slimy he still has a conservative reputation to the masses. If she was running against someone like Chris Dodd she would have cleaned house.

Agreed!

Slow and steady wins the race.

Assuming, that is, that we don't quit before the finish line.

The two main candidates spent around $40-45 million combined to brainwash voters and buy their votes. Medina spent less than $1 million.

THIS IS HUGE, you guys. Keep chipping away.

Of course it will take longer than we would like in this instant gratification society. But look at what Ron Paul has done over the course of his 30 year career.

Don't give up.

We need a Texas size Campaign

We need a Texas size Campaign for Liberty with Debra Medina at its head to continue this fight. Can someone please ask Ron Paul to take Medina under his wing and mentor her? She could continue to get name recognition by speaking at the various functions sponsored by C4L.

I agree!

I don't feel that bad about it. Medina didn't even make a splash until late in the game and still walked with 18%. She did very well, and has made a name for herself. Now she just needs to stay active, keep her name and face out there until she gets another chance at office.
