Ok, I just got word that Ron Paul will be speaking at the SRLC on Saturday. don't have the time yet. The straw poll is also on Saturday.
Also, hot off the press, apparently C4L is going to offer tickets to the event at a reduced cost. I was told $30, but only 99% sure.
I'm gathering a crew here or should i say Krewe.
Did C4L confirm this?
Because it looks as if the SRLC people are lying to sell more tickets.

Their web site does NOT include him as a gueat speaker. Am I missing something here?

There doesn't
appear to be any official news from the RP camp but there have been a couple of comments about SRLC claiming they sent an invitation to Dr. Paul.
On 2/22/2010, underdog comments that Sean from SRLC said that "We are working on inviting Ron Paul."

On 3/01/2010, pk123 posted that he received a phone call from SRLC in response to a letter he sent. They claimed to have sent an invitation to Dr. Paul.

Assuming the info is accurate, Dr. Paul may be waiting for the best time to announce or just working out the details. We'll have to wait and see.

Just happy he'll be speaking there. He gets to spread his message. Atleast my email to them paid off.
I really doubt he'll win the strawpoll. Huckabee will most likely sweep this one up. He was the only one who blew out McCaine in the southeast during the primaries inspite of McCaine having the GOP endorsement!

CPACs' straw-poll only had a QUARTER of their participants voting.
SAD, when you consider that the majority of these PARTICIPANTS were considered leadership potential and/or activist supporters.
WHY would you skip-out on an opportunity to influence the media for free, by NOT seeking-out the free-media that a straw-poll offered?
This is going to be interesting to see if the history of past participation in the straw poll at this event will be much different because of CPAC.
Neo-cons/teo-cons might have some folksy charm in their own backyard, but so far, ALL of them have been weighed as not worth voting for, especially in the decisive times we are in.

Palin announced she was going there and not to CPAC, months ago
Huckabee is going, and Pawlenty (no threat there). They have had their organization and likely as many seats as they could afford for some time. And since this seems to be Palin's big deal, I expect MANY of her supporters to be going there. And they will vote.
I guess maybe RP doesn't expect to win this and only to have friendly voices in the audience and a way for his student supporters (who can't afford full price) to see him. However, I would dearly love him to win.

I had no idea only one quarter of the CPAC participants actually voted! That's pathetic.
Nevertheless, Huckabee was a globalist who gave scholarships to illegal immigrants for college while governor. No one in the south held it against him and he took numerous southern states away from McCain. ...pretty sad. I don't know if you can count on these individuals to use good judgement.
Even at CPAC, how does Romney get 2nd place when he created Romney-care in MASS. I think the only people actively participating in these polls are individuals who are partial to a candidate. Objective unaffiliated conservatives probably don't bother. Being conservative seems irrelevant, it's all about who has the bigger entourage.

I'm sure Huckabee will be mad if Ron Paul blows him away in the straw poll. I really hope that's what happens. If Ron Paul wins this straw poll, then they can't say that him winning the CPAC straw poll was just an anomaly.
