Patriot groups are on the rise, a new report out of the southern poverty law center show a 244 percent jump in new groups. How dangerous are these groups and are they anti-government?

No

I am pro Constitution and Pro citizen's rights so I am for the rule of LAW, our country's highest law. If the government goes against that law, they are the criminals, not us.

No we are a pro-small government group; we are anti-Nanny State.

No we are a pro-small government group; we are anti-Nanny State pro-constitution.

Without respecting the constitution there is no constituted government.

Freedom is NOT free!

The new definition of anti-government--

being against the tyrannical federal regime--is promoted to an ignorant people in place of a more specific definition: anarchist.

This DPer believes that the civil magistrate is necessary for the punishing of murder, kidnapping, stealing, protecting property boundaries, etc,-- in other words protecting our God-given right to life , liberty, and property. This process ought to be done decently and in order with speedy, fair, jury trials presided over by a judge. In addition, elected legislators make the laws that reflect the community's beliefs. The reason that there is evil in government is because our hearts are evil, not because an extremely limited government is inherently evil.

"The body is but a vessel for the soul,
A puppet which bends to the soul's tyranny.
And lo, the body is not eternal,
For it must feed on the flesh of others,
Lest it return to the dust whence it came.
Therefore the soul deceives and despises."

I think this whole patriot

I think this whole patriot movement being dangerous etc. is just fear mongering...
I followed the patriot movement back in the late 90's and early 2000's....after 9/11 I said NOW is the time for them to do what they claim and stop this tyrannical goverment....what did they do? They all stood up and said....I am joining the military...I am gonna stop those towel head wearing arabs...from blowing up more towers...
they had totally missed it...not only the point...not only what had really happened...but to do what was needed at the time it was needed...and they were all sucked into the lie...I believe it is too late now...they blew there real chance

Anti BIG government!

I'd say we range from near-total anarchists to those who simply favor tax cuts, a few laws repealed, and for our wars to be properly sanctioned by a declaration by Congress, who'd be happy if the hemorrhoid were shrunk just a little so as to be not quite so bothersome.

IMO the Southern Poverty Law Center is like any other 501c3 organization in that the more fear and loathing they can gin up, the more funds flow into their coffers. The SPLC seems to have a racial and political bias that singles out any predominantly white group that MIGHT at some point oppose non-christian or non-white minorities or the wealth transfer programs that pay them. It is a perfect example of mission drift from the original laudable goal of ferreting out KKK and other lynch-mentality groups.

The template for SPLC fundraiser letters is no doubt "Dangerous new hate group surfaces on Christian right, send money fast to help us expose their evil ideology!!" They are willing to stretch their case based on the flimsiest of connections and ignoring the multi-ethnic makeup of some of the groups they target.

Just a guess: No predominantly Black militant, Hispanic militant, or Muslim militant organization has ever appeared on their list, although I should visit their site and confirm.

-------------------

OK, I just checked and I was wrong. SPLC does list the Black separatist groups Nation of Islam and the New Black Panthers. However, I don't see any militant Muslim groups or any Hispanic groups such as La Raza. Also, I wonder what the attitude of the New Black Panthers is toward wealth transfer payments. I know the Nation of Islam preaches self sufficiency and that alone might be enough for them to be included as bad guys on this leftist organization's list.

I think

we are an anti-corrupt government group. We want an ethical government like the founders planned for us.

I'd say this is a

I'd say this is a constitutionalist group, which means limited government, not anti government.

Am I wrong? no I highly doubt I am.

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” Plato

You're wrong.

Groups don't exist, except as figures of speech. We aren't a group, we're individuals who happen to share some interests, or enjoy discussing and debating the same topics. Some of us are anarchists. Others are strict constitutionalists. And everything in between. Some of us oppose everything the government does, others pick-and-choose.

I'm anti-establishment-

Remember the late 60's early 70's quote...Don't trust anyone over 30? I have never, I know never is a strong word, trusted the "Government" for any solution to the issues I face, then or now.

Showmeron?

I am old enough to remember that,as a kid, in person,But now I am well over 30 so does this now include me?.

Freedom is NOT free!

...Is this question even valid...?

...NO...
...Because it assumes a definition of itself to which it does not have a legitimate claim to...
...It assumes government is always infallible and perfect, never to be questioned or changed for the better...
...Why not ask a REAL, GENUINE question like: Is Daily Paul an "anti-Tyranny group", or "anti-corrupt government" group...?
...They wont, because to do so exposes the B.S. of their strawman argument...
...So they say "anti-government"...
...There Is no such thing...
...But they want you to think their is so they can fool you and then falsely label you with their voodo mumbo jumbo gibberish...
...Sorry, but folks are not falling for the B.S. anymore...
