Paper Attacks YAL at Indiana University

Group needs talking-to about bias 3/7/2010

It’s a favorite and well-worn tactic of the far right to complain that they’re abused minorities on college campuses and the hypocritical left is denying them their rights.

These are folks who come from the same ideological tree that touts majority rule when they find themselves in the majority. The same people who opposed civil rights in the 1960s and continue to show themselves as hostile to programs for racial and ethnic minorities. People who label pleas for fair treatment of gays and lesbians as preferential treatment.

The wing-nuts.
(Update, they failed)

Tom Woods, friend of Fox News?!!!

That had me ROFL!

Is this serious?

Do people write like that and consider themselves worthy of being taken seriously?

Do these people think Tom Woods is a neo-con?

Talk about having your head up your backside!

Local Paper attacks YAL

We could use some ideas - we have been given the opportunity to respond to this attack in the paper - which is awesome! Any thoughts on what to include?

Two comments for your reply:

first, the author either did no homework and simply wrote out his biases having no factual knowledge of Woods -- or he intentionally his the fact that Woods' Meltdown was a bestseller, his academic background as a historian, and his past books such as We Who Dared Say No To War, co-authored with an eminent Leftist historian, and the fact that Woods doesn't fit into the authored characterization politically.

second, YAL cannot be characterized as a "rightist" organization. Libertarians are not right or left, and I would think its membership covers a wide spectrum.

Thank You for Posting!

I was just getting ready to post something about what is going on at Bloomington, regarding the Tom Woods speaking event. I am not shocked by the 2nd denial to the YAL request to have Tom Woods Speak. I believe this will blow up in their face. I am in Indianapolis and am informing all the Liberty groups about this debacle. Thanks again!
