GUNS, GUNS AND MORE GUNS! How to get mainline conservatives to listen.
One of my most effective hooks to get normally close minded conservatives to listen to Paul, is to mention his position on guns.
A lot of people hear Ron Paul's positions on foreign policy or economics and immediately close down. My wife mentioned RP to her boss and he immediately blurted: "I hate that guy! He's just an anti-war liberal who doesn't like taxes!" Then after later mentioning his positions on guns he softened up. And then she mentioned she showed him this site http://www.ronpaul2008.com/gunowners
After reading it at home, and reading a few other things on his site and videos on youtube, he said he's misinterpreted the guy as an "anti-war internet darling joke candidate" and actually says he may consider voting for the guy.
Where does this lead to? We need to use the 2nd amendment more as a way of softening up conservatives to his ideas (his positions on drugs opens up the minds of the far left people too).
I think Ron Paul should talk more about guns during tommorrow's debate and he should make a commercial showing his stance on guns (or we could, I guess...)
Even better if we team up with Gun Owners of America http://www.gunowners.org/ to make a commercial showing off Ron Paul's A+ rating and no compromise stance on guns.
This clearly makes a quick and easily digestible difference with Democrats.
Whenever you are in the belly of the beast surrounded by screaming neocons, post this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdxTg9x3Mbg&eurl
BTW, we may also want to try and court opposers of the death penalty.

ATF
I wish that Paul would make a statment about eliminating the ATF. He talks about getting rid of things that people have a hard time letting go of like the Dept. of Ed. but I've never heard him speak out against the ATF. Surely he's in favor of abolishing it given it's propencity to violate civil liberties on a regular basis. If he had a good anti-ATF quote it could win over a good deal of people in the gun culture, as it were.
Disgusting
Yeah they will let us have guns and let us question abortion as long as we let them have a humungous government and start crazy wars. That's what they have decided we can have.
"What does conservatism today stand for? It stands for war. It stands for power. It stands for spying, jailing without trial, torture, counterfeiting without limit, and lying from morning to night."
Lew Rockwell
GOA
That might work, except on a recent interview on WVCY, Larry Pratt gushed about Huckabee and consigned Paul with the candidates with "no traction".
With friends like that ...
We already know NRA can no longer be trusted to protect our gun rights.
What I wanna know is..
When did 'conservatives' become defenders of taxes?
I have this frustration with my family members, they are brainwashed by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.
Ron Paul and the Second Amendment
You are correct. The Second Amendment is very important to millions of Americans. For many, it is their primary issue. It is also vital to those who wish to enforce their tyranny over us to see us disarmed.
We need to get Ron Paul's message on the Second Amendment out to firearms owning Americans. At the same time, we need to educate the rest of the electorate that the Second Amendment protects their right to keep and bear arms, whether or not they chose to exercise that right. The idea that power is dispersed (firearms are everywhere) is a good thing. When power is concentrated (Nazi Germany of any of the Communist nations), there is no freedom.
The Second Amendment is all about freedom, not duck hunting. That's why our would-be tyrants are undermining it. Ron Paul is the champion of the Constitution. That makes him the most pro-Second Amendment candidate running.
bump?
Woah, did this post bury itself?
