Schumer and Graham...

have both long ago showed their true colors. Schumer has always been about expansion of government power. He wrote the assault weapons ban of 1994 that became part of the 1994 Crime Bill. Lindsey Graham last year was heckled at a town hall meeting for berating Ron Paul. When Clinton was president, he wanted a National ID act, which was (I think) part of the Counter-Terrorism Bill of 1996. A watered down version of this was passed without the National ID provision. Look for the Establishment to push the National ID act after passing Health Care. This is one reason why Health Care should be defeated. Next, everybody will be required to carry an ID with a RFID (radio frequency identification) chip in order to work. RFID technology has been in use for years now, mainly in grocery shipments to food retailers to track the shipment. These chips are usually attached to a package of groceries within a pallet, with a list of everything in the pallet on it. Keep in mind that US Passports have had a chip in them since 2005. I believe that it is a "dumb" chip that has your information as printed on your passport for ready scanning. However, when the time is right, the chip could be replaced with a "smart" chip that could contain all of your personal information, which could be constantly updated. This would result in a government tracking device.

It's bad enough that

It's bad enough that passports, credit cards(and soon driver's licenses) are having RFID chips put in them. Wonder how long it will be until they try to add RFID chips into social security cards?

Doesn't throwing it in the microwave

destroy the chip or no?

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

Maybe another way of

Maybe another way of attacking this, like this Amish man recently did for animal tracking. I'm serious!

Amish farmer wins fight over registering livestock

NEILLSVILLE (AP) - An Amish livestock farmer who refused to follow a 2005 Wisconsin law requiring him to register his land and livestock has won a legal battle with state regulators.

Clark County Circuit Judge Jon Counsell on March 9 ruled in favor of Emanuel Miller Jr. of Loyal, who was accused of violating the law meant to help regulators track animal diseases.

Some Amish say the tracking system would amount to the "mark of the beast" mentioned in the Bible as being related to Satan.

Counsell determined that the state did not show why alternatives that would not affect Miller's religious freedom would not be just as effective.

Assistant state veterinarian Paul McGraw told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he expects the state to appeal.

I know this will tick off those who are anti-immigration, but...

can you not see now that this whole immigration issue is just a ruse to get you to accept a national ID card?

It is simply one more piece of the "pressure" puzzle. They are tightening their vice grips around your gonads, and many of you are unknowingly helping them.

By this point, many in America are vehemently "Anti-immigration" or at least "anti-illegal immigration." This "feeling" is now so strong, and has been nurtured so well, that there will be little resistance to this move.

The 1986 amnesty was a set up for the failed amnesty attempt just a few years ago. And that was attempted merely to bring the issue to the forefront and cause people to "draw their lines in the sand" so to speak. Now that so many Americans are so heavily invested on the side of preventing illegal immigration and "getting" those immigrants, and preventing them from working here, what might have once been a deafening cacophony of resistance to a national ID will be but a whimper.

Libertarians have it right on this issue I'm afraid. Liberty means you should be able to live where you want. There should be no artificial restrictions preventing you from working and living as a responsible citizen anywhere. (people who rape, murder, steal, etc. are criminals and are not by definition "responsible" citizens)

Since we aren't going to abolish our immigration laws anytime soon, looks like you better line up for your Domestic Green Card!

Note how this also serves as an attempt to eliminate non-traceable wages and employment. It is only a short step from this to full gestapo daily life.

I think Ron Paul is right(not

I think Ron Paul is right(not the libertarians who feel we should disband all border patrol and all immigrations and customs enforcement personnel and have totally unsecured borders, as well as repealing all laws related to illegal immigration). Ron Paul has talked about his plans to handle the illegal immigration problem, without resorting to dumb ideas like national biometric ID cards.
I posted my thoughts on this in these threads here

and here

Your right, we don't need full gestapo daily life to be secure.

I don't like it either. We've got lot's a cards already, and nothing seems to stop identiy theft either, however, I'm curious to see what security these cards provide the card holder.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Sounds as though the SC

Sounds as though the SC Republican Party needs to censure Lindsey Graham yet again...

Three other earlier threads

Schumer and Graham..

are a couple of snakes in the grass. This "card" is like having a "social security" number all over again but, it is harder to tamper with. I've been trying to get away from my social security number for decades and haven't been able to completely shrug it....If my father and grandfather knew what we know today about the real reason and the abuse that a national I.D. is used for, they never would have taken one, let alone get one for me. On the up side, there are numerous states who have sworn to nullify a effort to bring in a national I.D.....we'll see.

"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is argument of tyrants. It is the creed of slaves." William Pitt in the House of Commons November 18, 1783
"I have one word for you...predator drones. Oh, you think I'm kidding?" Obombya

Does this card have a 3 digit attached to it, such as....

666?

Can we...

kick him in the balls out of congress!!?!!

23 states have rejected real ID (national ID)

This week Minnesota became the twenty-third state to reject the Real ID Act of 2005 as Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty signed legislation amending changes to the state's voting procedures, in large response to the ongoing Senate recount. The Real ID Act of 2005 seeks to turn state drivers licenses into national identification cards by imposing federal standards for the issuance of all state drivers licenses.

it's not intended to be enforced...

... under current conditions. They put these laws in place for the future control. After the total collapse of the dollar and total chaos... WARS QUAKES TSUNAMIS... all of which are man made.... The AntiChrist will be defeated and the NEW buddhist saviour will come forth to bring us into the NEW AGE... However, this NEW SPIRITUAL THAY... teacher... will be none other than LUCIFER himself... and his minions nearby. You will wish you were raptured. But then again... maybe I'm wrong... wouldn't be the foist time.

Does my burka make my butt look fatwa?
