Could Someone PLEASE Inform/Remind RP about the Grace Commission Report?!

I saw the video of Ron paul answering Howard Fineman's question about eliminating the IRS, and could not believe that Ron did not even mention the Grace Commission's report that ALL of the federal income tax money that the IRS confiscates (i.e., STEALS) from us "taxpayers" goes towards paying the interest on the national debt, and that NONE of it goes towards paying for any of the services and programs that are enumerated in the federal budget. In other words, according to the Grace Commission report, which former Pres. Ron Reagan requested in his first term, there is NO direct "cause/effect" relationship between the federal income tax and the size of the US government!!! Therefore, RP's answer to Fineman's question is not only inaccurate, it's grossly misleading!

RP needs to tie the issue of the IRS and the federal income tax to the Federal Reserve and the link between the budget deficit and fiat money, because too many people are convinced that a "cause/effect" relationship exists between federal income taxes and gov't services and programs---hence, their resistance to eliminating the IRS! If RP would respond to this issue with the "facts" rather than with convoluted fantasy, it could go a long way towards exposing the frauds and cheats who promote both the Federal Reserve and IRS along with their insane monetary and taxation policies!

Grace Commission isn't a panacea

First, the report is bit out of date (1984). Second, it says 100% of individual income taxes are consumed by interest and "transfer payments" (which means social security). This statement is still largely true in fiscal 2007, but I doubt Ron Paul wants to argue that we can end the income tax if we stop transfer payments and default on the debt.

Ending the income tax is a worthy goal but we have to be honest about the hard choices involved (as well as the benefits) or people like Fineman will be justified in dismissing it as rhetoric.

Maybe you haven't been around long

but I remember Dr. Paul saying several times that I income taxes do not affect the running of the government at all. That all the money goes to the Fed as interest.

Then why didn't he . . .

say so in this interview? And why didn't he say so in any of the debates? I've watched just about all of them, and I've never heard him bring this up! FYI, I've known about RP and his opposition to the IRS and federal income tax for 5-6 years, but I've never heard him mention the Grace Commission report. If he has done so on occasion, that's good, but not good enough because any other response to this issue is inadequate, incorrect, and misleading! Remember, CONSISTENCY is the only way to speak the truth and drive home one's point!

Here's the letter that J. Peter Grace sent to Reagan:

And yes, I definitely agree that Paul should be mentioning that.
