You want change? Run for office

There's several dozen liberty minded congressmen who are running on a populist platform. How about lower positions like State committee or County Council? It's not glamorous, it might not pay that much if at all, but you'll have some influence on the election in 2012.

Right now is the opportunity for many people to run for any office, in my opinion the smaller the better. If you're an independent try to hook up with the Green/Libertarian/Constitutionalist parties. One of them probably fits you best and is more widely known then just trying to explain yourself to everyone you're asking votes from.

It takes an organization to beat an organization. In my county we're practically running a full slate of republican state committee candidates against the establishment republicans. There is no way we could have done this without connecting to people who are Glenn Beck Fans and Tea Party members. I don't have to agree with them, but I do need their help to get elected.

The good news for independents is it's just the primaries now and independents have months to get their nominating papers signed over the summer.

If you can't do the hard work getting elected, then you don't deserve to gripe about how someone else is stealing from you. Sure you might not want to run, I don't, but if you really want to change things you've got to do it yourself.
