California lawmaker would outlaw 'open carry' gun right

Gun owners have been meeting in coffee shops, parks, and restaurants wearing holstered weapons. California Assembly Member Lori Saldaña says 'open carry' of guns can create ‘potentially dangerous situations.’

We have a right to open carry in California?

Surely not in Los Angeles county (where I live). I looked into concealed carry, and it essentially doesn't exist for private individuals. I never actually looked into open carry....

Not that I'd carry openly in town, but if I went to the national forest I might carry up and around there. (You do feel a bit naked banging pots to scare a bear from your camp. Even if you just have it 'if necessary', a gun in camp seems like a good idea.)

They don't even have rounds loaded

how is carrying a L shaped piece of wood, plastic, and metal any different than a carpenter with a hammer, or anyone with a cell phone.

I see they are trying to make a point, but dang it what good is a gun with nothing loaded in it?

Ammo is with the person just not loaded in the gun...but a well trained person can load it in a flash

And for those on the entitled side of that line, they can and often do as they wish with their weapons to elicit the obedience that they demand.
