Poll for drinking raw milk, you know what to do (Updated)

0 votes

Raw milk and organic food have been under attack for years in Wisconsin. Yesterday, there was hearing held in Eau Claire (No, not the cake) on a bill that would legalize raw milk consumption and sale. The bill would add a couple of minor rules, so for the most part it was a very positive step forward. The crowd that attended filled up the public hearing room and 4 over flow rooms with standing room only attendance! :)

Please vote in this poll even if you dont drink raw milk. http://www.jsonline.com/polls/87239557.html

BTW, raw milk has been sold the whole time they have made it Illegal, the head of the DNR showed peoplle how to get around the law. This makes it Legal once agin without taxing it any further!

Not gonna do it

Take the poll, that is. This kind of poll perpetuates the notion that people can vote to dictate what I can put in my body, like some kind of twisted popularity contest.

a bump to bring back the milk

a bump to bring back the milk man. i love raw milk. drank it all the time when i was a kid and always felt really good after drinking it.

I'm very glad to see the yeses

pulling ahead.

What about harmones?

Are the dairies required to give those shots to their cows?

No they are not

Too many people were rejecting the rbst milk so it isn't used much.

bump for a tie-breaker

I sent this to some people who will possibly help break it.

The poll is tied now

50 yes 50 no.

ron and michael badnarik

are instrumental in bringing this topic to the table.

and yes humans do not need milk. altho, when i buy milk i buy it raw from a friend of mine who is a dairy farmer. he sells to oakhurst - a maine dairy - who then process it and resell it.

i buy it from him. i bring up a couple of gallon glass jugs and he fills them up for me right there while we chat about stuff. it's great.

and the price is right. $2.50 a gallon. at my coop it is about $4.89 a half gallon. one dairy is out of state and well known and the other is a local dairy who sells it to the coop who resells it - but it's so expensive.

i can get the milk from my friend so much cheaper and in that way i can make yogurt, cheese, buttermilk etc or just have some cream from the top.

here is my local coop: http://belfast.coop

there is NO comparison between raw and p/h milk. when you process the milk you kill all the good stuff.

Ron Paul is My President

When You Mention Michael Badnarik...

this reminds me of a friend now in his seventies telling me about some reading he did regarding homogenized milk: Through that process, the milk is spun so fast as to elongate the fat cells in the milk making them more easy to penetrate human cells to cause heart problems. Maybe Michael Badnarik drank too much processed milk? Now, big government and its lawyers are telling us we cannot buy or drink the stuff that is most healthy for our own bodies?

Now, I'm sure someone will call me a conspiracy theorist, nutjob, wacko or some other "politically correct" talking head buzz word.

StateLawyer Run Tyranny

Thanks, greatscott and others for addressing this issue. Big government lawyers: Get a real job! There needs to be room in this world for individual choice. Intividual liberty.

People are so-o-o-o-o- ignorant! They still look for find ways to attack this whole freedom message inspired by Ron Paul's wisdom and continued energy. He's still right-on... endless issues affecting us all in so many ways. I absolutely support him for that now decrepit palace on Pennsylvania Ave. to help dismantle some of this dismal tyranny across the land. Either him or one of his ardent supporters like son, Rand or Peter Schiff...but there's something about Ron that still says: Mr. President!

Regarding this issue on milk, let me take you back to one of my favorite speeches during Ron Paul's(08) campaign for the presidency:

"Search For a Story": May 30, 2008 Archives: Paul fires up crowd as Republicans meet in Branson
about 30-31 minutes into the audio you will hear Dr. Paul basically laughing at those who would try to tell us what we can eat and/or drink.
This thing has always hit home with me since we sold our orchard/farm market/raw cider business over three years ago now to a lawyer happy couple who immediately sought to buy a pasteurizer...Now, she's seeking a divorce...she loves herself first, lawyer close second.

Regarding Ron Paul and Wisconsin, it may not seem on the surface that we're doing much for the cause, but there are candidates and there is grassroots support that is definitely growing. My favorite candidate in Wisconsin is Rick Richards. A candidate running for Robson's 15th Senate District in the Janesville area. A Ron Paul for President supporter whom i met at a Campaign for Liberty meeting in Wisconsin Dells on December 6, 2008. Rick, if elected, will help tilt the Wisconsin legislature away from tyranny and towards Ron Paul Liberty!

Would you drink raw milk?

Legislators are debating whether to allow the sale of unpasteurized milk, which advocates say has health benefits but others say can be risky because it can cause food-borne illnesses.

as adults

We're not supposed to be drinking milk as adults. And, humans are the only animals that drink the milk of other animals. the only animals that do drink other animals milk is when humans put them there.
but, if you choose to drink it...raw is healthier.

In truth,

People don't realize

that the enzymes from the seeds of the various grasses the cows eat are a primary reason it's so good for the cows and makes their raw milk very nutritious.

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

I drink Raw milk every day

with a banana, a raw organic egg and cacao. however there's a huge difference between good organic raw milk from grass-fed cows and raw milk from grain fed cows

The farmer i get my milk from lets his cows out in the summer and they're ouside and eat grass all day, as a result the milk is the most delicious liquid you can imagine, however in the winter he keeps them inside and feeds them grains, as a result the milk is just not as good and i have problems digesting it, which is why i drink less milk during the winter.

Many people who drink pasteurized milk and have problems digesting it falsely assume that they suffer from lactose intolerance, when they're really only having problems with grain fed milk and would digest organic milk from grass fed cows just fine.

edit:
By the way, if you can get your hands on grass-fed organic milk you should make butter from the cream. Fresh organic butter is one of the most delicious foods ever. Once you've tried it, you don't want to go back to regular butter.

I've never tried raw milk

I've never tried raw milk before, but one of these days I would like to try it.

...

John2K.... never tried it??

let me know what state your in ..and I will point you to a dairy in your area... (that goes for anyone..) Just hit me up at contact...

RAW MILK IS ONE OF THE BEST FOODS FOR ANYONE...(goat is best, but raw cow is excellent as well)

There are just too many benefits to list..

However pasteurized milk is toxic as hell, and will cause heart disease , diabetes, and a host of other illnesses..

Absolutely right! Thanks for posting.

and here is where you can find real milk in your area: http://www.realmilk.com/

Read The Untold Story of Milk. http://www.amazon.com/Untold-Story-Revised-Updated-ebook/dp/...

here is part of an excellent review of the book and the raw milk issue:
"My personal feeling is that a tax-paid official who knowingly misdirects or otherwise influences an investigation of toxic substances in food is guilty of at least a couple of felonies, especially if people die or are severely injured. As the case histories here show, this has happened far too many times, with raw milk getting blamed for illnesses known to be caused by other foods. This is criminal on at least two points - attacking innocent citizens (wrongful prosecution, malfeasance), and letting the real culprits continue to poison people (aiding, abetting, and conspiracy). The fact that there has not been a massive investigation into this situation is very disturbing and also rather revealing. (As always, cui bono - who benefits? The "Medical-Industrial complex?) "

I would drink raw milk if I personally knew the dairy

farmer and their methods and treatment of their cows.

I currently buy Cedar Summit Dairy from New Prague, MN., I get it at the food co-ops around the twin cities.

Their cows are pastured on organic grass and they are fed dried grass in the winter. The milk is just fantastic. Cream on top with low temp pasteurization for 30 minutes that does not kill all the necessary enzymes and bacterias.

Anyone in MN should know about this.

I personally support raw milk. Its not the business of the government to be involved in anything like this.

I've decided

that folks without the mental wherewithal to research to understand and do things that improve their station either financially, physically are best left to their own devices.
We all make choices, laziness in the process of not making choices are actually bad choices, either way you make a decision. Unfortunately we have loads of people with their heads firmly stuck where the sun doesn't shine.
