It look like my salary needed to increase $6,500 over thelast 5 years just to stay the same because of inflation. Well, didn't happen!

typed in 100 dollars ... it was 6 dollars in 1940 omg

8 per cent tax rate - framers fought over 4 per cent lol

6 dollars towards SS out of the 8 dollars owed.

Interesting how every income, not just the rich, seems to have benefited from the Bush tax cuts. I looked at $20,000, $40,000..... up to $100,000, and then a smattering above that, all the way to $5 million. Everyone benefited, and more surprisingly, everyone looks to have benefited fairly evenly as a fraction of their pre cuts taxes.

The more substantial cuts in the 80's, under Reagan, were definitely more top heavy, but top marginal rates were much higher to begin with back then.

Anyway, if these graphs are accurate, those claiming the Bush tax cuts were only for the wealthy, are spinning it pretty hard.

Wow, the inflation curve really takes off after, oh, about 1971. Gee, I wonder what could have possibly happened that year to cause that? Hmmm...
