Could most diseases be prevented simply by more OXYGEN?
As air pollution has increased and live styles have become more sedentary, the overall delivery of oxygen to the cells has decreased dramatically. Making this change in a body designed for active existence could be the underlying cause of many of today's health issues.
Of course the medical industry can't compete with nature's "free elements" which explains why the magic of oxygen is not widely known. However, there are many scientific studies that prove a lack of oxygen is the primary cause of major diseases including cancer, heart disease, arthritis and hang-overs. : )

well, it is sort of true. Oxygen is dangerous in the blood vessels, and beneficial inside the cells. We have no shortage of oxygen in the air, but we do have a shortage of carbon dioxide.
Carbon dioxide is needed to allow oxygen to move into the cells. This is called the Bohr Effect.

The less oxygen the better. Oxygen is creates massive free radicals and accelerates aging. To be maximize your life and health, you need to have just enough oxygen to live and no more. Try not to breathe too much.

I've been training people for 20 years: Civilians, Law Enforcement, Military, and Elite Athletes.
The healthiest among them consume tremendous amounts of oxygen each day -- think Lance Armstrong.
You are correct that people take "anti-oxidants" however, the important properties in the "antis" are the "elimination" agents (the scrubbers if you will).
Oxygen "destroys" harmful non-aerobic or anaerobic cells -- it enriches (helps in ATP production) all the healthy cells.
The dead cell carcasses (if you will) are then eliminated by two important factors: #1 The Scrubbers (anti-oxidants -- Vit C for example) and #2 Water
Most Americans do not drink enough water so the "oxydized" anaerobic material stays in the body -- white blood cells try to cordon off the crime scene. Also, owing to a lack of water our mucous is not how it's supposed to be (lactic acid, uric acid, and starch paste create "super glue") and it hardens around the white blood cells; creating a tumor. Cancer grows inside this anaerobic "geode" and the result can be a "malignant tumor"

I'm still confused at how the lungs can both take Oxygen from the air, inject it into the blood stream and then at the same time extract carbon dioxide from the blood stream and expel it. That is amazing. Can you expound on that process?

Holy Breath is the Essence of our Being
This is my first real contribution to the Daily Paul site as otherwise I have been just cheerleading Dr. Paul.
I am doing my PhD on phenomenological philosophy of breathing. I didn't yet read the www-links, but I want to comment before checking them out.
I think the question of breathing is going to be one of the most fundamental questions of our life and this question is not only a health question, but a question of every dimension of our being, that is, of human life. This means that breathing penetrates, transverses and surrounds every dimension of our being by giving/sustaining life and living meaning to everything else we live, speak, act and do. Normally we are tend to see breathing mostly as a physiological question, that is, we reduce the mystery of breath to process of gas exchange and cellular respiration, but it is much much more. I would argue that it is one of the most multidimensional question of human existence. Breathing is also fundamentally philosophical question and from that basis it is also possibly a sociological, personal, interpersonal, environmental, psychological, theological, spiritual, etc. a question.
In my PhD I am dealing breathing as one of the most primordial questions of human existence and in my examination I am interrogating how actually breathing constitutes our fundamental understanding of spatiality, temporality, freedom and intersubjectivity.
As this is a site dedicated to Ron Paul and his supporters (which I happen to be one also) the questions of freedom and intersubjectivity are higly important. In my research I see that our experience and understanding of freedom and liberty actually comes possible, because we are breathing beings and in constant connection to the atmosphere of air which gives us possibility of movement (freedom of movement). And how does breathing then connect to this? Breathing is our root to free air. If our roots were on the earth as trees and plants have we would not have this kind of understanding of freedom as we have now.
Then the question of intersubjectivity and community? Through our breathing we all participate in a Respiratory Community of the Atmosphere of Air (or which I call the Community of the Immense Lung) in which we are all one and nobody is excluded from this community because of a nationality, race, religion, political ideas, etc. Even if we don't want to be members we have to be. Human being's most important relationship is to this Community of the Immense Lung which we all share together and it's wisdom sustains every moment our lives and our other relationships which we normally put much more attention to. Bump for a great post! I currently take 12 mg's of lugol's Iodine, 6000 mg of Vit. C, 3000 mg of Niacin, and a B-complex vitamin...thank you for the info. on oxygen. I will look into it, and it seems so common sensical which is why I am so interested.

I love the topic of Oxygen.
I teach Conscious-Sleep and Tension Mastery and my entire system stems around "transmuting" O2 into O3.
The human body can create Ozone (internally) -- I've argued this for over 10 years and it was proven scientifically 3 to 5 years ago.
We believe that this is the not-so-fabled "2nd Wind" that a runner gets.
Your "awareness" moves through the body like an "electro-magnetic" cloud (through your spider web of nerve fibers, through your "water", and through your blood (oxygen - all cells).
This electro-magnetic cloud (just like the "sun" -- maybe the Soul is a mini-sun? With the "ego" orbiting it like our moon, always looking away never back at the soul) -- I digress. This E-M cloud can split oxygen molecules if it focuses sharply on the in-coming air.
This happens when the runner gets exhausted and can only think about his breath and next step -- when this happens he splits much higher volumes of O2 into O3.
The O2 is split into O1's -- The O1's attach to a nearby O2 and become O3.
O3 is a super oxydizer -- it cleanses the body.
The 'danger' (cancer) happens when we do not drink enough water (also has oxygen in it) to wash out the destroyed cells -- which have a faster cancer causing effect.
This is "free-radical" damage.
You must get 4000mg of Vit C, Sunshine, and lots of Water (1 Quart for every 50lbs of body weight).
If you combine that with my consious-sleep and tension mastery exercises you can split oxygen like a runner without ever running.

I sleep in a very deep protracted state of bliss
every single night.
The "energy" can change from 'bliss' to 'love' or to 'mirth -- sometimes 'power' (which is love without the joy) and 'wisdom'
Mostly Mirth and Bliss for me -- everyone I train is different.
I would never put it out in public my experiences, but let's just say you would want them if you could have them.
I'm not talking about a "deep night sleep" -- that's Deep Delta; what I'm talking about is what I've coined as "Harmonic Resonance" (deeper than the Lucid Dream state).
I only need 2 or 3 hrs rest each night -- the goal is to never sleep subcosciously again.
I teach this to Navy Seals (privately) -- I'm very close to my program catching on with the military. Sleep is a very competitive industry and I don't havea Ph.D.
I'd like to hook-up with a Ph.D as a "partner" -- it would need to be someone in Nutrition or Medical Science (Neuro Science would be the best).

As I understand it that unique smell of a rain shower is ozone, is it possible to smell that if a person is splitting enough volume.
I'm thinking about starting a hydrogen peroxide therapy as prescribed in one of the links above, wondering what your opinion is on that?
Also what breathing techniques do you recommend for people starting out.

is a good idea -- I have to say "consult with your primary physician" first, smile.
My father's doctor is actually hip to alternative medicine -- he's put people on H202 therapy.

If the meditative coach does not come from this perspective or ability then they can't teach it.
I've designed my system off of Oxygen Transmutation and am very cognicent of this science.
"watching your breath" is not enough of a coaching technique -- smile.
When I transmute-oxygen it is dynamic and yes you "smell the O3" -- it's more like a heigtened sensitivity to sensation as the oxygen passes over the mucous membrane each time after you first "transmute"
