I received the census form today.

It didn't seem nearly as bad as the one ten years ago. I noticed that in the first and second question, it asks how many "people" live at this address. Questions 5-10 refer to the term, "persons".

Also, the very first question is enclosed in a box, as to purposely separate it from the other questions. Reason for this?

The questions that I have the most heartburn about, are:

Telephone number? Yeah, right. like I will give my private IP telephone number to be entered into a government database.

Last name, First name? I don't have either. I have a "given name" and a "family name."

What is the persons sex, male or female? Only animals are designated as male and female. Human beings are either a man or woman.

Age and Date of Birth? I'm not sure. I have no recollection of being born. Most everything I've been told throughout my life has either been an outright lie or hearsay.

Then they ask if I of Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin. Holy cow, I don't know. There could have been a Mexican in the wood pile somewhere. I don't look Hispanic. Would I be lying if I said, yes?

What is my race? Would a DNA test required for an accurate answer?

Now, since they did GPS my house, and they planned on doing some ethnic cleansing, what would be safe as far as "race" is concerned? This question is a crap shoot and gets me very nervous.

Anyway, I think I'll play it safe and ignore the census. Why? It was addressed to "Resident". I am not a resident. I have a domicile. Should anyone even open a piece of U.S. mail unless it is specifically address to them. I usually discard mail in my box addressed to "resident" or "occupant."

As "domicile" and "residence" are usually in the same place, they are frequently used as if they had the same meaning, but they are not identical terms, for a person may have two places of residence, as in the city and country, but only one domicile. Residence means living in a particular locality, but domicile means living in that locality with intent to make it a fixed and permanent home. Residence simply required bodily presence as an inhabitant in a given place, while domicile requires bodily presence in that place and also an intention to make it one's domicile. Fuller v. Hofferbert, C./A.Ohio, 204 F.2d 592, 597. [see also In re Riley's Will, 266 N.Y.S. 209, 148 Misc. 588.]

"Residence" is not synonyumous with "domicile," though the two terms are closely related; a person may have only one legal domicile at one time, but he may have more than one residence. Fielding v. Casualty Reciprocal Exchange, L.App., 331 So.2d 186, 188.

In certain contexts the courts consider "residence" and "domicile" to be synonymous (e.g. divorce action, Cooper v. Cooper, 269 Cal.App.2d 6, 74 Cal. Rptr. 439, 441); while in others the two terms are distinguished (e.g. venue, Fromkin v. Loehmann's Hewlett, Inc., 16 Misc.2d 117, 184 N.Y.S.2d 63, 65).

Love you guys. Take care.

Census

Stupid, idiotic, sophomoric response. By not responding to the census, all you are doing is guaranteeing underrepresentation in your part of the country. Then again, if your primary goal is to be cheeky and cute, then perhaps you don't deserve to reap the benefits of federal funds.

Are you serious?

Benefits of federal funds???
