Iowa, my grandmother, and more...

First, I want to thank all of the Ron Paul supporters in Iowa for showing up and voting in the straw poll. I believe the results were very good for the Paul campaign. Like many have said, we are polling around 2% in traditional land line polls around the country. The Ron Paul supporters showed up in Ames and gave Ron nearly 10% of the vote. This is a wonderful start. Remember that, this is a start. This campaign is just getting started and we have a long way to go. We have thousands more to persuade and convince that liberty, limited government, and freedom can still be saved for our nation.

Many of you may have heard about our scare yesterday, as my grandmother was admitted to a hospital in Iowa. A little update: she is doing well, resting comfortably in an Iowa hospital, and is very excited about returning home to Texas as soon as possible. We are very ready for her to get home too. This campaign trail has been long and hard, but the fight goes on.

Don't give up hope. Continue to wear your Ron Paul t-shirts, Ron Paul Choose Liberty bracelets, put your bumper sticker on your car - and tell EVERYONE you meet about how important it is to vote in this election. It may not be our last chance, but it certainly is our best current opportunity to preserve some of the ideas our founders built this nation on. The President's job is not to run our lives, our economy, and wage unconstitutional wars, and there is only one candidate who understands this.

A special thanks to all the Meet Up groups in Iowa and surrounding states who helped our campaign do so well at the Iowa Straw Poll yesterday. This election will be won by the people, not by the candidate who spends the most money to buy votes. Our movement, or revolution, revolves around a message - not a man.

Ron Paul's message has not changed for over 30 years as a public servant. For the first time, this message is being spread across the nation and people are excited. Young people, like myself, are amazed to see that there is a candidate who will stand up to the modern trend of more government, more taxes, and more intervention on our private lives.

Join the Ron Paul rEVOLution!

Help Paul get $10,000,000 this quarter.

Now that the Iowa STraw Poll is behind us. Lets make another push to fullfill this pledge. We've only got a few weeks now. This is urgent.
http://www.pledgebank.com/10mForRonPaul

"Donate $1,000 but only if 10,000 others do it."

Remembere contributions to Ron PAul could be tax deductable. When he wins, he'll "Deduct" the IRS.

The Paul campaign just enlisted another 10,000 volenters after the recent debate, and we've had the Iowa straw pole since then as well. There's lots more people out their then their were when this pledge was 1st created.

It's really important that the official campain raise money as well as grass roots groups. The Mainstream media relaly uses this as a benchmark of ellectability.

If Paul does raise $10,000,000, the Republican Primery will be between just him and Gulliani largely, which means he'll have an excellent shot at winning the nomination -- which makes him a shoe-in for the Presidency.

And when he wins, you'll get all your money back in the form of the IRS being abolished. Post this on your forums, groups, myspace bullitans, etc. Let's really push this pledge. Also don't be afraid to tell people about it offline also.

What's important!

The numbers were good and getting 9% was important, but more important than the numbers was that Ron Paul was able to speak to the people and let them know what he believes, and more important than Ron Paul; are the ideas that he expressed. The ideas, as Ron Paul has explained many times, are based on the Constitution and are more important to him, than winning the election. Vote for Ron Paul!, but we also need to run for and/or seek out candidates for local, state and federal government, who will support him when he wins!

Pictures

Here's a picture of Ron Paul in the tent. He was gracious and very positive with everyone, even the black-shirted people in the picture who were only there to get a clip of him saying that the jury is still out on global warming. When they got that clip they gleefully ran out of the tent saying "we GOT it!" (I stopped them and asked what they got).

Very good news indeed

Glad to hear Carol is doing well.

Ron Paul's wife had a pacemaker implanted

According to an AP News article, Ron Paul's wife had a pacemaker implanted in her and the surgery was a success.

Glad to hear Carol is ok.

I met Carol at Blinn College May 19th, she was very nice, a pacemaker, wow, I hope that her recovery is smooth. Our family will be praying for Carol.

I've been drumming up all the RP support I possibly can here in Marlin Texas:

9% of Saturday's votes, I'll take it, but the turn out for the Paul campaign seemed stronger from the TV perspective, I guess a lot of people came in from out of state....or maybe Laura Ingram reported the Diebold machine tally. ;)

I hope the grassroots fire slowly grows into an inferno by super Tuesday.
I hope to meet some of you great Paul supporters in Texas city in a few weeks. God bless Ron, his family, and all the great supporters. Keep up the great work.

Matt - Thanks for the

Matt -
Thanks for the update.
Glad to hear your grandmother is doing well.

I'm sure some rest and - being back in her own bed - in her own home - will do her a world of good.

Imagine your grandfather feels the same way.

A Pure Moment for The Message

Best wishes to Carol and Dr. Paul.

Dr. Paul, your speech before the gathering in Iowa was a pure moment for the message. The whirlwind about the event became still as your words of wisdom, fact and truth resounded throughout the venue and vibrated through all those in attendance.

The message cannot be denied.

I live in New Jersey and there is a lot of work to do between now and Super Tuesday. I think I can safely say, New Jersey looks forward to you visiting our state. In the meantime, we who can, will do our best to get your name and the message before the People of New Jersey.

You achieved a great result in Iowa. Thank you and Godspeed.

Thank You Matt

Great memo Matt. Thank you so much for updating us on your grandmother...she is in many prayers and thoughts today and every day.

Many of us were so pleased with the vote yesterday!! We are now more encouraged and determined than ever. Like you, we see this as a great beginning and the opportunity to really get to work.

Whether you know it or not, yesterday CPAN was broadcasting live voter calls....and most of the Democrats calling in were supporting Ron Paul!!!
Today, Steven DuBois reports that nearly 40% of ALL callers to CSPAN mentioned their support for Ron Paul regardless of party affiliation.

Ron Paul is THE ONLY candidate running who can UNITE us all in our diversity. The peace, freedom and prosperity message is empowering. All we need do is spread the message to our friends, family and neighbors...and that is our top-priority job out here in California!!!

We are psyched and ready to do our part and we too thank everyone in Iowa and most especially, those fabulously creative and productive Ron Paul supporters who created the mosaic ad for the Ames Tribune.

cee cee

Glad to hear your grandmother is feeling better!

I'm sure it will be a relief for all of you when she is back home with the family.

We'll keep on working to get the message out, Matt. I'll be at the Washington County Fair on Tuesday wearing my Ask Me About Ron Paul t-shirt and working with fellow volunteers from our Pittsburgh Meetup group. Yesterday was the first day of the fair and the folks who worked our booth had very good things to say about the reception they got from both the public and the Washington County Republican Committee. Let's continue to work together for a better America!

View from Germany

Translated excerpt from the renowned german news magazine Der Spiegel August the 12th, 2007 (before the results)

**One leaves one to him. The Texan congressional representative and village gynecologist Ron Paul, 71, ranked in the presidency running of the US Republicans up to now, indeed, only under further ran. However, he has definitely them most loudly, most engaged, most bright, the most dynamic follower.

They approach by baby carriage, dogs and megaphones, unites also with drums, transverse flutes and three-cornered hats. They have the campus Iowa State University in Ames with thousands upon thousands of Ron Paulsigns plastered

" We are an army ", David Fisher, 39 shakes. " A volunteer's army. " When Paul announced his candidature in March, the engineer from Des Moines, capital of Iowa, that very same day signed up as an electoral assistant . " For 20 years I am a republican activist ", he says." Nevertheless, this is the first time that I have donated money. A lot of money. " And why? " His message. The message of the freedom. I love Dr. Paul message of freedom. "**

The tune is changing.........

Great to hear it, Matt. I

Great to hear it, Matt. I was worried about your grandmother. Mrs. Paul is the kindest, sweetest woman anyone could ever know. You're lucky to have the family you have.

This is only the beginning. Yesterday was a great showing - nearly a 5x increase in polling numbers - from 2% to almost 10%. It is a marathon, not a sprint, and there are miles to go.

Yesterday was a milestone also for this site - the number of visitors hit an all time high - 24,000! Aside from a bit of a slowdown, the server held up well. Thank you everyone for contributing.

Everyone, get some rest today and it is back to work tomorrow!

Michael

He's the man.

I Was Concerned Matt, Thanks

So very happy your grandmother is o.k.

I've followed your grandfather for many years. Awesome individual.

I'm starting a Hot Springs, Arkansas meetup. Anyone reading this message, e-mail me and let's talk.

I've never been excited before. I know what is going on around the world.

I've felt powerless. I now see hope in the horizon.

You volunteers are so wonderful it's hard to express it in words. You don't wait to be told what to do. YOU JUST DO IT. This is an example of individualism.

The man from Austria gave me idea.

At the different state poll vote sites, volunteers dressing up in American Revolutionary War attire with drums, various instruments, carrying issue banners, and marching for Ron Paul. Maybe, just maybe, the media will notice.....and the voters will be impressed, I'm sure. Get photos of this and use in another ad.
