Becoming a lawyer to "work the system from the inside" is this a stupid idea?
So I'm 30, an IT professional currently doing fairly well but not making any kind of fantastic money (still rockin the 5 figure salary)so I have the limitations of the typical lower middle class debt slave, not much free time, little free capital to put into "causes" and trying to decide what to do "when I grow up" I could continue down the IT path, it pays the bills and is interesting enough to make work less of a chore than say, working fast food or sales, but I'm really not "doing anything" truly productive other than living and being taxed.
I have the GI bill still so college is mostly taken care of, I'm "good with people" and don't mind public speaking and have considered running for office in an attempt to make some sort of a difference in this struggle with a too large government. This idea now seems pointless as the political system is too manipulated (I think) for someone with the right ideas to ever make a difference.
So what about law practice, could I make more of a difference by becoming one of the British Accredited Registry associates and using my liberty oriented mind set to tackle legal issues, or is that system too far gone also?

The time is approaching when
The time is approaching when most lawyers will be given an opportunity to leave the country or be hanged. You obviously have not spent much time with lawyers and courts.
You don't sell your soul to the devil to defeat him. You would be bucking the tide, ostracised, and targeted for actually trying to do the right thing rather then extract revenue from debt slaves and warehouse them in jails and prisons.
So yeah stupid idea...
If your pulling 70K a year your doing better then most. You want more money or a better life style? Trim the fat and invest that fat into a self sufficient homestead not dependent on fiat money and start a business that will be needed rain or shine like natural healing, energy work or something of that nature that you might be interested in.
Not easy but investing your time and money into a system that is on it last legs just isn't a good investment.

no, I've never had to deal
no, I've never had to deal with courts or lawyers (aside from a ticket or two that i've disputed)
seems to me that its just an overly complex system and having someone truely "on your side" would be a good thing.
I'm also a big beliver in Common Law and the fact that the 7th amendment is extremely under used.
Seventh Amendment –
In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

I have a feeling that this combined with state/jury nullification could be a very powerful way to turn this country around.
you however seem to think differently.

The system is designed to crush any change from within
The idea of changing the system from the inside is a dumb idea. The system is purely hierarchical. All control systems based on violence are purely hierarchical because in the limit only 1 person can truly wield capricious power at any one time. So changing the system from within means convincing your boss to accept the change. Your boss might not give a crap but even if he does he'll have to convince his boss. And so on and so on and so on... All the way up the line. In actuality, you'd be lucky to make it one rung up the ladder before you're fired, diagnosed as crazy, or both. The system exists to perpetuate itself and to crush dissent. Joining up to change it from within is a fool's quest.
So what weight do you give to trying to improve upon the 5 figure salary? Is that a prerequisite or can your new career pay less or equal to your current gig?
house + family mandate about
house + family mandate about 70,000 minimum a year at our current life style (not to say there isn't some fat to trim out of the budget, I don't "need" everythign i have.)
I do as much as I can on the side, but that 9 hour block spent "doing other peoples bidding" kills a lot of my modivation.
what do you have in mind?
the monitary increase is a desire forced on me by indoctrination I think, really I have more than I need now, but need and want are two different things and we live in a heavily "want" biased society.

Well, I'm sort of in the same
Well, I'm sort of in the same boat that you are, except I'm going to law school in the fall. From the horror stories I hear about law school from my friends that jumped in straight from undergrad(I took a year off), you had better really want to practice law to justify getting that degree. You will have very little free time. I hope to specialize in securities law or economic law and work for either Judicial Watch or other watchdog groups, or even work for a think tank. Economics is my true passion but it would take at least another year of undergrad to prepare for Econ grad school and I wont do that.

I have a lot of technical training and hardly any college (I got tired of paying for a grade really quick) I figured a focus in Information Technology would get me through school with a degree (as I already have a good base of knowledge there and find it interesting).
I'm just throwing this spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks, I haven't fleshed out this line of thought very well yet.

Just don't become a CHOCOLATE LAYER.
The Anglefood might stick around awhile but the chocolate layer will be gone in a flash ;-)
Seriously though, I expect medicine will be a much more valuable training to have in the coming economic collapse. Any amount of training you can get before it happens will make you a more valuable survival team member. There will be a lot of hurting people, lots of demand for your services.

I already have a base in that
I already have a base in that area from my active duty time, enough to fix minor trauma anyway, which is all that "western medicine" is good at anyway.
I understand that a healthy immune system is the key to everything and that microbes and bacteria are the foundation of that, I despise the modern medicine industry and the schools that are funded by big pharma, I'd never be able to sit through that BS.

I'll look into it more, I don't see how it could be worse than doing nothing at this point.

WAY too far gone!
If you want to practice law, don't bother with formal education as they will only twist your mind.
But by all means, study law, and learn court procedure.
