Are you ready to back Jim Traficant?

I've started working a little bit with Jim's campaign. Yesterday was the first meeting. One of the questions that keeps coming up is, "What do the people think of Traficant?". I'd like you to take a moment of your time to answer this question. Many of his new local supporters are Ron Paul supporters. I am an example of this. However, I know better than to assume that all Ron Paul supporters are potential Traficant supporters. Let's hear your thoughts...
You can listen to Mr. Traficant
every Saturday from 1pm-4pm (Eastern) on WTAM 1100AM radio, Cleveland and make up your own mind about him. There is a live feed from WTAM that I listen to on the internet. I have listened several Saturdays and, for the most part, I like what I hear. He is for everything that we cheer about here at the DP including ending the Fed, ending wars, and eliminating the IRS. But, he wants to replace the income tax with a national sales tax. He needs to be schooled by the good Dr., or someone, letting him know that without the income tax revenue, the government would still take in revenue equal to 1999 when things weren't that bad. He is a little rough around the edges but he has a good sense of humor and is very likable. You can tell that he is very faithful to his constituancy, the blue collar, hard working, Ohio "rust belt" gang. We need him to be a part of our revolution.

you wont get him to budge on the national sales tax idea. I actually tend to agree with him. It makes sense for us right now. the only way social programs can be jerked from the public is if there is no choice in the matter. the federal gov goes bankrupt and thats that. in the meantime, we need to roll back spending, ween peeps off the government koolaid and crack. most of all, its a wonderful compromise. many of us dont want compromises, but i gotta tell you, the majority at this point doesnt give a shit about what we want. this is our foot in the door. if we remain vigilant, we could subsequently and incrementally lower the national sales tax with each major election.
the trick is to have him on our side in removing the 16th amendment. because the consumption tax should never happen given its existence.

His whole story is convoluted. As far as I remember, Ron Paul voted 'present' during his eviction from the house because he didn't think that Traficant received a fair hearing. This inclines me to believe that he might be trustworthy when he speaks against the establishment. He sounds sincere when he talks, although he really doesn't sound all that knowledgeable. I don't feel like I've learned anything by listening to him.
He is interesting at least.

The papers eat him up and spit him out. You don't get everything that Traficant is from those papers. They do interviews with him long enough to get a sound bite they can use against him. To call that man a whore is going way over the top. Its the local papers who are the whores.
