You know, Mr. President, that I've taken a principled stand
against the health care bill because it fails my test for pure socialism, but if you could give me a ride on Air Force One, I might just see my way to overlooking my objections.

Kuchinich, was going to vote no not because he was against government health care, but because he WANTED A BIGGER more powerful bill. He wanted the public option.
Kuchinich is against the wars, but he is for every other intrusive government program there is.
He didn't sell out to anything, he wants government health care just more than what this current monstrosity offers, he was holding out for more not less.

In response to the almost 2 million Americans that have contacted my office in support of House Resolution 615, I have introduced an Amendment to the Pelosi health care bill that will automatically enroll all Members of Congress and all Senators in the public option.

Over the past few months, members of Congress and the American people have come to know the details of the Administration's proposed health care plan. Call it whatever you like, I believe this proposal is nothing more than government-run health care. As a physician, I am amazed at the number of bureaucrats in this House who are quick to claim a government-run health care plan is the reform this country needs. In response to this, I have offered a resolution that will offer members of Congress an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is, and urge their colleagues who vote for legislation creating a government-run health care plan to lead by example and enroll themselves in the same public plan.
Under the current draft of the Democrat healthcare legislation, members of Congress are curiously exempt from the government-run health care option, keeping their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill. If Members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hard working American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them lead the way. Public servants should always be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating.
Together we will work to ensure that any plan that is good enough for American families is good enough for every member of Congress.

Kucinich is a socialist
Who favors "public option" socialized medicine. There's really nothing inconsistent with him backing this bill, which will clearly lead to the outcome he favors within a couple of years. If insurance companies cannot screen out people with preexisting conditions, no one will buy insurance until they are ready to file a claim. Insurance companies will die like flies. Government will ride to the rescue to save us all from the "market failure" of private insurance. I'm sure Obama explained all this to him on Air Force One.

But he either doesn't understand the Constitution or is a total fraud. His decision does suck, but if there was an ounce on integrity left in him, then we could sway him with sound, logical, Constitutional arguments, and I know that a lot of people will say "why bother?".
Well, I say, are we willing to give up already?

To tell someone that you are disappointed with them, is akin, to a father telling his child, that he is disappointed with them. It lays a guilt trip on them, that is hard to shake, if they truly have listened to what is right.
I believe we could sway him, and in doing so, make national news and kill the bill.

Any cheering for Kucinich
definitely had to do with his stance on the "wars" (better termed extra-Constitutional military endeavors).
I think everyone on DP knows he is a government mandate supporting socialist, in which case he can not be an individual who truly supports freedom or peace.
Systematic coercion is the antithesis of freedom and peace.
