I used to have a video from BBC's youtube channel linked on my signature and people from the USA got the same message when they clicked on it.

Eventually, I found the same video posted by a Canadian and the link worked fine for everyone.

Same problem with Colbert's videos on his site.

The innocent explanation is the division of advertising. American advertisers want to sell to Americans and so forth.

A more sinister explanation is that gaps in the official government/corporate narrative are easier to spot if you watch media from a variety of countries.

For example, if I relied on British media alone (online and offline), I wouldn't know that Ron Paul existed.
