Israel vs. America: Breaking Up Is Hard to Do

Israel vs. America: Breaking Up Is Hard to Do
The Biden ambush
by Justin Raimondo

The brouhaha over what Hillary Clinton said was Israel’s calculated "insult" to the United States is escalating into what many characterize as a "crisis" in US-Israeli relations, a turning point in which the terms of the "special relationship" are about to undergo a major change. When Joe Biden berated his hosts for making the settlements announcement as he arrived on Israeli soil, it was as if a light bulb went off over his head:

"This is starting to get dangerous for us," Biden is reported to have said. "What you’re doing here undermines the security of our troops who are fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. That endangers us and it endangers regional peace."

"Starting to get dangerous for us"? I find it difficult to believe this is the first time anyone in Washington has noticed the chief strategic consequence of the Iraq war, and that is what might be called the umbrella effect. Due to the heavy US presence in Iraq, the Mediterranean, and the Persian Gulf, Israel feels empowered to push a brazenly expansionist agenda. The umbrella effect was a key reason why the Israel lobby pushed hard for the invasion and occupation of Iraq: it put US soldiers in between the Israelis and their multifold enemies in the region.

Whether that was the intention all along is largely irrelevant. Ensconced smack dab in the middle of the Arab world, our troops were and are sitting ducks, useful to the Israelis because their presence diverts Arab anger and retaliation away from Israel and toward other targets – namely, American soldiers in Iraq.

Furthermore, the inevitable consequence of the invasion was to place US soldiers in a position where they could be dragged in to a wider war in the Middle East on Israel’s behalf. The conquest of Iraq implied a continuing and wider effort by the US to "transform" the region, a conflict that would, not so coincidentally, improve Israel’s position, and indeed this was the rhetoric employed by the Bush administration and its supporters in the run-up to the Iraq war.

The news that it was General David Petraeus, CENTCOM commander and author of the Iraq "surge," who raised the alarm over the regional consequences of Israeli intransigence back in January, is indicative of a point I have long made in this space: that ever since 9/11, objective circumstances required a US tilt away from Israel. That the impetus for a policy change is coming from Petraeus underscores the objective nature of the conditions forcing US policymakers to confront what has by now become a serious military problem.

Interesting Observation

Here's an observation that I never seem to get an answer on. As soon as I bring it up, people run for the hills.....

So we continuously hear about the poor suffering Jew, or in this case the constantly threatened Israeli who can barely survive. Riddle me this then: How many billionaire Jews/Israelis are there in the world? Then ask it another way: How many billionaire Palestinians are there?

I guess we know who is experiencing the real suffering.

A good friend of mine worked at an investment firm for 5-6 years. Her last name was Jewish, so naturally everyone assumed she was. However, she was raised as a Catholic. This firm donated tens of millions of dollars every year to Jewish causes in the area. My friend only recently brought it to my attention just how many times they would clown out Christians. She mentioned that they received requests to donate to Christian causes all the time, and in every instance the group would bust out laughing and then deride Jesus, Santa, etc. We talked about this for a couple of hours and when we finished she summarized by saying "they only care about themselves, period".

Unfortunately, my personal experience has been exactly the same. I'm a big believer in individual rights - and there a many Jewish organizations that constantly reinforce this publicly, yet in private they believe in collectivism. It's just plain sad.

i'll never

break up with Israel, i have been "grafted in".

Heed the warning from the LORD, do not get involved against Israel in the controversy over Zion for all that come against her will lose...He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel...

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Right........

Go to YouTube and watch all the horrific videos of Israelis murdering civilians and children - and then laughing about it. There are literally thousands of these kinds of videos. I'm constantly amazing by the religious supporters of Israel who don't seem to have a clue that those running that country could care less about the religious aspect of it. Read Jimmy Carter's book "Palestine Peace Not Apartheid". Carter is a deeply religious man and he has visited the country dozens of times. He states very clearly that the people running the country aren't religious at all and that they only care about expanding their mini-empire through land grabs (which incidentally, only occur illegally by bulldozing Palestinian homes - and the people inside, if necessary).

Thank you.

I could not find words to comment above. I too have "gratefully been grafted in" but now after learning so much the last few years, and letting compassion and Truth be my guide instead of what I had always been taught, I now know there is a certain way to know if you are grafted into the right "olive tree": if it is rooted in Love. The palestinian issue alone is proof that many who profess to follow the One, are only following the "many."

.

A lover's quarrel between the US and Israel is nothing that some well-placed explosives and a media blitz can't resolve.

I was called anti-semite

discussing this...anyway

and one Libertarian Jewish person suggested to me that Palestine was none of our business, that everyone there was a settler, and the Palestinians were really just squatters!

I wouldn't be surprised....

if Israel has nukes hidden in key American cities.

All politicians should be held to "AMERICA FIRST" Standards.

It is just common sense.

what am I missing here?

what am I missing here? because Isreal builds new houses IN ISREAL, it undermines the safety of our troops
who SHOULD NOT be in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan? Nice to see they admite we are at war in Pakistan.. Hillary Clinton is joke. Biden is a Joke. General BETRAYUS. Is a joke. We should bring all the troops home, Isreal is more then capable of handling its own security.

“Defiance of God’s Law will eventually bring havoc to a society.” - Dr. Ron Paul

Are they building houses in Israel?

That's the whole issue. By building houses in Palestinian areas they make the two state solution impossible, as if the Israelis ever wanted that.
Maybe the day will come when the Israelis and two percent of American citizens no longer control our foreign policy.
Watch the AIPAC money flow into Kentucky to defeat Rand Paul and anyone who would put Amwerica first.

so you mean Isreali areas

so you mean Isreali areas that the palestinians claim..
Look folks, You may not believe in God, but God promised that land to Abraham. the Hebrews were there long before any Palastinian.. Not to make waves but when God makes a promise he usually keeps it. I honestly am divided over the subject.

“Defiance of God’s Law will eventually bring havoc to a society.” - Dr. Ron Paul

look rebel... The bible

look rebel...
The bible clearly states who is Abraham's seed...

Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

This is the God I believe in...it is not about Zionism...

"and the truth shall make you free"
John 8:32

Umm..

the land of israel in the bible was from the Nile to the Euphrates and included 2/3 of modern day Iraq, 1/3 of modern day Egypt, 1/2 of Syria and 1/2 of Saudia Arabia.

Genesis 15:18 "On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates"

Also, it says in the bible that the gentiles will be in Jerusalem until Jesus returns and that the jews at that time will be in legion with the antichrist.

Also, the "Three Oaths" of the Talmud forbids the jews and israel from returning with force into the promised land and ending their exile and that god will do it peacefully when the time is right.

Which God?

"The God of Abraham."
Um... not everyone worhsips Zeus. Not everyone worships Shiva. Not everyone worships Ganesh. Not everyone worships "the god of Abraham."
Abraham was a jerk, you know? And as for who was there first, it is impossible to know, and it is best if we all accept that we will never KNOW. We can choose what we believe, but we must know in our own minds that what we CHOOSE TO BELIEVE is not a fact, and we cannot hold others to our beliefs. It is why it is so important that we all strive to base our knowledge and action in FACTS.
Recent evidence shows why we must accept a question mark at the end of most of what we call "history."

So, since you don't really know who was there FIRST, how about looking at who is there NOW and being merciful to them? They are people, living where they have lived for thousands of years, and they are being brutalized by recently transplanted "Israelis" with our weapons and tax dollars, and it is NOT something my "god" approves of.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Or Palestinian areas that Israelis claim.

That is the question, the basis for disagreement and conflict.
Assuming the Old Testament is relevant(I don't)Both Jews and Arabs are descended from Abraham.
There's no right or wrong on this conflict. Both peoples have a reasonable claim.
The question is how can the conflict be settled?
1) One State- All individuals have equal rights whether Israeli or Palestinian. The Israelis don't want this because demographics favor the Palestinians. In time they'd be the majority.
2) Two States- Divide the area into two countries. Moving Israelis into majority Palestinian areas make this impossible.
3) Apartheid- Now Israelis militarily control Palestinians and deny them civil rights. This is no different than the situation as existed in the former South Africa.
4) Genocide- One side kills the other off or drives them out.
The only civilized, sensible solution is #2. Time does not favor the Israelis. The sooner they deal the better settlement they'll get.

:)

The way to change things is to change yourself from within. When you see things change around you to the better, it is actually YOU that is changing. If one day you notice that the New World Order is no longer around, it is because YOU changed, not the environment. The New World
Order at that point STILL EXISTS, but not on the spiritual level YOU
are. When this happens, you have done all you can, and the people you see around you in the "New World" without the Illuminati, are the people who followed a similar path.
"You must be the change you want to see in the world."
~ Mahatma Gandhi

I have never seen it put quite as well. It took me many years to grasp this truth about myself and the power that I hold to control my surroundings to include the people who surround me. We can run around panicking and becoming depressed, or we can stay abreast of the information and educate people while choosing what our immediate environment is like. These people exist, and probably always will, but they have absolutely no control over me, my family, or our future, unless we let them.

Now back to my "NWO free" chickens.

Great day to all.

The chickens are a dead give away

"The r3volution" is a chicken coop - the "P" is silent. The humble bird is the new symbol of liberty, the modern day, two-legged, freeman's "best friend." I like my dog, but only because she keeps the hawks off my chickens... lol!
I wish I could be more at peace with this, though. We call it "the ghost world" because when we go "out there" it is like trying to explain to a ghosts that they are dead... The sad part is that they COULD come back to life, but they are so desperately insisting they are not dead they are missing the chance...
Building a new pen for the girls today - Princess keeps getting out of the old one and into my garden, and now she is bringing accomplices on her crime sprees. I expected as much out of Lucy, but when sweet, mellow ALMA got involved... I knew something had to be done.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
