Schiff at 9%, sad, very sad

Saw this on Lew Rockwell blog this am:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/53390.html
Connecticut is hopeless. Not surprised though since they kept Dodd around so long.

I don't really understand Schiff's--
political position. I sort of understand his economic position.
BUT, I have to wonder if Cheney has been as busy trying to sabotage this election as he has been in trying to sideswipe Ron Paul's son Rand!
?
it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--
Shiff is running
too nuch like a Republican ..there doesn't seem to be much of a choice difference..Not being a status quo he is sure to get the short end of that stick..
There Is Time -- He Will Start Climbing
I've seen a couple of videos, and Peter seems to be able to win over a crowd. I think when commercials and other things start making him better known, he'll be in the race.
Whether he'll win is another story. Connecticut is a heavily collectivist/fascist state, so it will take some doing. This may be a good year for a convergence of events to create an opportunity for him to win.

Tepid Support
I live in CT, and I have to tell you, I have not seen 1 lawn sign or 1 bumper sticker with Simmons or McMahon on them. People just don't know who Peter is. I've just started telling my outer circle of friends and co-workers about him and they have never really heard of him. Hang in there guys. Once we get around to educating people who Peter is, that 9% will surely go up. And the support that the other 2 candidates have, we'll see how strong it really is!
Same here
as a Ct resident, Schiff is a non entity. No one here has even heard of him. Small gatherings of dedicated follwoers are nowhere near enough to win elections.
He can't wait much l0nger to show up on TV and in the papers. Espceailly when some of the others running for the job have such high recognition here.
There is a lot more to winning elections than just having a great message.
That's a 60% favorable opinion among those who know enough
to have one.
Sounds pretty good to me.
Since the primary is in August, as along as he stays out there and builds name recognition, he will have a shot.
If he's still at 9% in July, then it is time to worry.
I was away from my computer for a few hours
and it is now nice to see the optimism here. I was quite dismayed seeing Peter at 9% on that blog this am. Thanks for the responses.
Check out this statistic!
http://www.connecticutplus.com/cplus/information/news/politi...
It says 85% don't know enough about Schiff to make an opinion.....but Peter's got 9%. That is an incredible statistic! It means once people hear about Peter, they like him and stick with him. And don't forget Peter's got the grassroots volunteers behind him.
good point
this is literally what it was like when i introduced friends to ron paul in the primary season.
they never heard of him, but once i showed them videos, they were hooked.
He was at 3 or 4%
right after Dodd retired 2 months ago. So he almost tripled his support in 2 months without running any ads!! Once when Peter starts running ads and people start paying attention they'll go to him. Peter's primary is 5 months away which is more than enough time. Remember Medina's surge? Remember how Rand overtook Grayson in few months after the campaign got going? Peter is in good shape right now and we just got to keep fighting for him.
August Primary….Don’t Worry
He has so much time and just started running his first radio ads. This is going to be a tough race, but Peter is still very much in this. He’s started getting good local press as well. At this point he just isn’t known unless you watch Fox Business or CNBC (most people don’t). Long way to go and remember most people only start thinking about politics a month or two before the primary. Six months ago Rand was behind Grayson and as of right now Rand has just about taken him out.
I know you all want to see our candidate up right now, but that is not the way the political game is played. I’m sure Peter’s internals are showing that Simmons and McMahon’s support is softer than goose crap. A few more debates and Peter will be over 20% and on his way. Just have patience.
El Dorado
Strategy
.
Peter once said that he wanted to hang back a bit and let those two duke it out.
The number and type of local appearances he is making up there impress me. This must be a part of his strategy - get the power brokers to know who he is.
DrLuv
is a hater?
Just what we need...another neocon
No thanks
END the FED before it ENDS US
he has concerns about iran
he admits his concern is just based on impressions, and he needs solid intelligence congress gets from the agencies before he makes any decision. to the extent he decides iran should be dealt with, he is still against foreign occupation. he is against current occupation of iraq and afghanistan and he wants to withdraw troops from all of europe.
that makes him a neo-con for nuts like drkrybyluv i guess.
Schiff has studied and understands the markets thoroughly...
Schiff has studied and understands the markets thoroughly, but it appears that he has failed to study the birth of the Federal Reserve, the historical and philosophical reasons for it. He does not believe there is a banker's conspiracy. To him, it seems, everything just happens.
Most disturbing is that he doesn't know the philosophical underpinnings of why preemptive strikes against ANY country are wrong and against the constitution.
He would trust the word of the intelligence offices. The same ones that are stacked at the top with Skull and Bones-men and their fraternity brothers.
Schiff looks to me like a very honest, straight forward guy who has the best intentions in mind. But it appears that he needs to educate himself about the constitution and American history by reading books like Hamilton's Curse, and The Creatures from Jekill Island.
Till he does, he can not but vote with his emotions if he ever becomes a senator.

you are about as right about
you are about as right about Schiff being a neocon as you are about a gold backed currency.. completly WRONG.

Schiff Not Neocon
What classifies him as a neocon?
wrote him in in 2008, electing him in 2012.

He only agrees with me...
Since he only agrees with me 99.9 pct of the time he must be a neo-con and now I am compelled to hate him forever and vow to never come back to the DP again by placing a screaming rant in a new post here.
you must not be following the
you must not be following the race in CT. He has gone from like 1% to 9% in 2 weeks.
Ventura 2012
He came from 4 %.
But it's still way to little, and I don't think he will get it done.
Great he is gaining.
Last poll I saw he was at around 5 %. Almost double now.

Let's see...
Let's see, Schiff...
-supports unconstitutional pre-emptive strikes against other countries (Iran),
-doesn't believe on a banker conspiracy at the Federal Reserve,
-isn't aware of AIPAC's vast influence or ideas,
-and doesn't think there is anything fishy about 911...
And you are surprised that he doesn't get a groundswell of support like Debra Medina did?
P.S; I hope he wins, because he is better than most, but he needs to educate himself before he can excite the masses about truth, or his run for office.

Pre-emptive Strikes?
Maybe pre-emtive surgical strikes like Reagan on Grenada(?) We need some kind of threat, or countries around the world will bully us...or would letters of marque and reprisal cover?
No one would get away with calling him an anti-Semite, since he's a Jew himself. This brings to mind: What Peter thinks of independence and self-rule, no U.N. for Israel?...if you have never gone here, do so today:

borismo What Is Amazing Is This...
"-doesn't believe on a banker conspiracy at the Federal Reserve"
And his dad is rotting away in prison for taking on the IRS and he never stumbled onto the FED and how it was started?

Ok...
Call back with Schiff's own words:
Juicy part at 2:12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf77yqkjk_M
Yes, it is sad that with his dad rotting in jail Schiff never found out how the Federal Reserve was started.

Banker Conspiracy
I work for Peter. He has a copy of Edward Griffins "The Creature from Jekyll Island" on the shelf in his office as well as a copy at home. I dont think there is any better book explaining the 'banker conspiracy' than this book. Im positive Peter understands much more about this conspiracy than he is willing to let on in public..
I Don't Know If I Would Vote For Him After Seeing That...
if I lived in his state, but then I am questioning ever voting again until we get paper ballots back...

They Got to You
If you don't vote because there might be a bunch of people commiting felonies, they've already won.

What you fail to realize is
What you fail to realize is that Schiff's economic understanding and solutions naturally make it impossible to have "unconstitutional pre-emptive strikes against other countries" because Schiff would do everything he can to disband the Federal Reserve Bank.
No Fed = No Wars.
Once we no longer have a government-sanctioned central bank, our federal government will shrink dramatically hence groups like AIPAC will have no incentive to bribe our government because our government won't be able to afford their requests.
You have to start looking at the big picture, which obviously you're not.
Even schemes like 9/11 would be much harder to pull off if we didn't have a central bank that could print money out of thin air to fund those type of things. All those shenanigans would come to an end when we get rid of the Fed and Schiff would be totally for that.
