In a federal court, no

In a federal court, no doubt.

It's a good thing takes are doing this, but should they lose in court, it is still their responsibility to protect their citizens from shakedown.

Which, if the Feds tack the non compliance with mandate fine onto the Federal tax bill, means they need to be ready to back "tax evaders" within their state. And if the Feds respond with withholding funds.... well, respond with backing residents' "evading" more taxes. Taken to the mat, it's a battle the Feds can't win.

The Feds simply won't send in the FBI, much less the Army or national guard, to collect taxes from hundreds of thousands of non compliants without local assistance, so it's only a question of state level politicos, and voters, growing a pair.

Still, the time between a local court finding in Idaho residents' favor and an eventual appeal to the USSC, is probably worth moving to Idaho (or some other state following in their footsteps) for.

off topic - Another insurance Question, Home insurance this time

Hi All,
I cannot find a post that was on here maybe oh, a month or two ago? Someone was having trouble retaining their home insurance because the insurance company would cancel if they didn't get a new roof. We asked for a reduction in our premium by raising our deductible (in other words taking on more liability) and instead of making an amendment to our policy, the agent wrote a new policy which required an inspection. Voila...we need a new roof. "Oh, can't afford a new roof, you are cancelled."

I am finding any time you try to reduce a payment, properly/legitimately, it ends up slamming down on your head and costing you more. With upside down mortgages, mortgagees are little more than glorified renters who must bow to the whim and the needs of the lender while paying "rent," taxes and being responsible for all repairs. Any ideas on this? Did anyone else have this happen to them or hear of it happening to them? Thanks.

You would have thought New Hampshire would have been the first.

Any "Free Staters" here?

I'm moving to the State of Jefferson when it finally secedes.
