U.S. sells (via Fed) 5,937 tonnes of gold in Q3/09. This equals 75% of total US gold reserves

The title of this article from Goldseek is aptly named, "Smoke, Mirrors, SDR's and Gold: Central Banks Cannot Tell the Truth"

Remember the G20 Summit in London April, 2009, and Obama saying they had agreed to contribute over a $Trillion to float the global financial markets? Well this ties into the US paying that commitment.

Note the HUGE size of the transaction, which in bullion terms, at 1,000 per ounce would represent ¾ of all sovereign gold alleged to be held by the U.S. Secondly, note that the authors of this report [that being the Fed] did not report this MASSIVE transaction in the quarter which it occurred. Additionally, when this transaction was finally allocated it was not highlighted, asterisked, or footnoted as having occurred in a period other than the current reporting period [most people only look at the current period]. What is one to think of this style of reporting of such a major transaction involving a notional amount representing ¾ of the entire U.S. sovereign gold reserve?

http://news.goldseek.com/GoldSeek/1268755740.php

The report may just be a cover-up for gold that was stolen years ago. It's been over 50 years since an audit of our gold holdings. If American's were actually concerned they might ask what happened to the other 21,000 tonnes of gold we held in the 1920's.

The only possible good thing that can come from this is that maybe, just maybe, people will wake up and quit requesting gold backed money as we just don't have any gold. When can we acknowledge this and move on to real monetary reform?

The bottom line is we must take back our sovereign power to issue and control our own currency, the species doesn't matter.

Always trade your gold and

Always trade your gold and silver directly to the market. Don't go through the money changers...
For that matter, trade your labor directly to the market and eliminate the need for money.

Money master illusionists...

Good trick, the hands at the Fed trade gold for SDRs; Federal Reserve Note then becomes backed by SDRs and International bank holds the gold. It will then be said that the SDR is backed by gold and will replace the dollar as international currency, in the meantime money changers will get their percentage each and every time I need to exchange dollars for SDRs. Just like each and every time I exchange FRNs for gold or vice versa.
One thing is certain, I still won't be able to trade gold directly on the market or see gold circulating, I will still only have paper and electronic credits at hand...

For this reasoning

is the very reason i am apprehensive about certain things, I cannot mention.

Gold that was stolen for the

Gold that was stolen for the American people by FDR and his gang of criminals.

Interesting.. Hmm whats next

Interesting..

Hmm whats next I wonder..

Interesting...

Wasn't it very shortly thereafter that some gold coated tungsten bars were supposedly discovered in somebody's shipment?

“We have allowed our nation to be over taxed and over regulated and overrun by bureaucrats, the founders would be ashamed of us for what we're putting up with.” Ron Paul

the last act of any government

the last act of any government is to loot the treasury. so sad, does this mean game over?

The Fed buys and sells huge quantities of gold.

The sole aim is to manipulate the price. Put yourself in the shoes of a central banker trying to force the price down.

How do you go about doing that?

One very basic strategy would be to buy gold when the market is slack in little bits and pieces and then when the market gains momentum to suddenly sell a big chunk.

Then when the bottom has fallen out of the market, start quietly buying it back again.

If you follow the recent history of the fiat gold price, you'll see a dip, followed by a climb, followed by a dip, followed by a climb, etc.

However, even with the ability to create limitless ammounts of "new money" out of thin air, there are definite limits as to how far this process can go.

I follow the GBP kilo gold price on Kitco. Its all over the place. I don't pay too much attention apart from those times when it hits a new peak.

The thing I do pay alot more attention to are the "We buy your Gold" notices on pawnbrokers, desks in shopping malls, the ads on cable TV and even the elderly gentleman who goes door-to-door buying jewelry.

What does Ron Paul have to say on this issue?

When will this news hit the media, such as CNN, FOX and the networks?

Thank you for linking to this interesting article Larry.

However, your commentary on it is bizzare.

"The only possible good thing that can come from this is that maybe, just maybe, people will wake up and quit requesting gold backed money as we just don't have any gold."

First of all, who the hell is calling for "gold-backed money"?

I'm calling for FREE MARKET money. That means money that is NOT controlled by government force and threat.

"The bottom line is we must take back our sovereign power to issue and control our own currency, the species [sic] doesn't matter."

Your power of free choice is not granted to you by government. Its taken away by government.

Its a simple case of "don't tread on me". Don't force people to use funny money via the force of law!

If you want to exchange bits of paper, that's fine. Just don't compell other people to do that via legal tender law and tax law.

I think there is a gold backed world currency in the works

and its symbol is going to be a circle with three parallel, horizontal lines intersecting the left side of the circle. (just a guess.)

The new UN coins?

You could be right. The one thing the globalists don't want is a genuinely free market.

Didn't mean to tread on your rights

Brit4RonPaul, sorry if I came across as treading on your rights. To be sure, I am all for you being able to buy precious metals to protect your accumulated wealth. I hold gold and silver too.

And, you should be free to participate in the exchange format of your choosing. Local exchange notes and other forms of credit that are agreeable to all parties are fine by me.

While our national monetary systems (G.B. and U.S.) are our bane, I also think they can be a blessing. Up until the end of the 19th century, the U.S. government paid their operating expenses with tariffs and money seigniorage.

It is possible to have the private sector distribute most of our new money through traditional banks but instead of creating the money for free, they should pay an issuance fee or seigniorage.

This could eliminate all national income taxes and discipline the government to pay for itself.

Maybe I came across wrong but my point is that we need a national money system that benefits the people instead of the banks.

The most fundamental issue is...can people govern themselves? If we cannot mind our finances and monetary system, free from banks, we can never truly be free.

As long as both our nations are usurped by private interests, we cannot expect good government.

END the FED before it ENDS US

Let's put it to the test.

Abolish the legal tender laws and other forms of government coercion surrounding money and we'll see what the market chooses.

NYT quote Monday 4 March 1996

This morning Imelda Marcos offered the latest in a series of explanations of the billions of dollars that she and her husband, who died in 1989, are believed to have stolen during his presidency.

"It so coincided that Marcos had money," she said. "After the Bretton Woods agreement he started buying gold from Fort Knox. Three Thousand tons, then 4,000 tons. I have documents for these: 7,000 tons. Marcos was so smart. He had it all. Its funny; America didn't understand him."

Interesting...

I'd love to see the source.

END the FED before it ENDS US

That's very interesting!

Here's an article from last

Here's an article from last year which mentions Ron Paul and his desire to have the gold at fort knox audited.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/...

WE have been off of the gold standard for years..

Why would you be concerned at this point..Our wealth is not in a hard asset, it's in our labor & purchasing power ..When these fails we fail..Welcome to who wants to work anymore..Been ripped off for too long..Now you're going to make me pay for healthcare I did not ask for ? The wallstreeters are glorying in another federal derivitive..China waits for the good news..Obama cancelled his trip until he can deliver the goods..

Thanks for alerting us to this

I think this is the end of the grand scheme to go off the US dollar (once they crash that, it's just been kept afloat until the new system is in place) and onto the IMF's SDF global monetary system, as outlined behind closed doors at the G20 Summit as your article points out.
The Federal Reserve will now report to the IMF, so good luck getting an audit after that happens! We're at the end game, they can taste it...Time to secede from DC.

R3VOLution

If true, Fort Knox is 3/4 empty....

unless the gold platted tungsten bars are there.

This would be dead easy to determine, if they only would permit an audit of the gold inventory.

If they do not permit an audit, then conspiracy theories will abound!

Ever wonder why we haven't been back to the moon?

Maybe...

it was gold-plated tungsten :D

.
"Wobbles but doesn't fall down" - weebles

It wouldn't suprise me at this point....

very little would.

And now all the exotic properties that gold displays at an atomic-sub-atomic level is creating an even greater value in the real commodity.

If they had done that, how long would it take for anyone to find out. Quite a while I can imgaine.

Can anyone come up with another anagram?

SDR stands for Special Drawing Rights.

Possible "Anagrams" for 'Special Drawing Rights' are;
'Ra Christ wins G pig deal'
'Pig's Grand witch Ra lies'
'Grand witches sip grail'
'Paris "G" Grand witch lies'
and not last and not least 'Sacred Grail is with (GNP)'
