Rep. Ron Paul, its time to distance oneself.
We (not surprised) hear Wednesday morning that Rep. Dennis Kucinich recognizes now how supporting the health care bill is truly in line with his ideology enough to vote in favor. Rep. Kucinich stated that health care is a right, Rep. Ron Paul states just the opposite. Up until now, Kucinich didn't support it because he needed the bill to be even more leftist. I'm fearful to think how far he wants it to go.
I really believe that Ron Paul needs to come out and speak publicly in opposition to his friends stance on this before any votes takes place.
Many had thought that a Paul/Kucinich ticket would be a big winner. I could never see uniting the two. Thus, I really need Congressman Paul to come out and speak well of the freedoms we hold dear and what Kucinich desires to neglect.
Rep. Kucinich is supporting the tactics used thus far and even though this is clearly an unconstitutional endeavor, where is the outcry from Ron Paul towards Congressman Dennis Kucinich? The friendship has to be ignored in some cases and this is one of them. Much is at stake.
Maybe someone has seen an oppositional statement from Ron Paul already? Posting it here would be beneficial.
Have a blessed day!

he totally sold out on this
he totally sold out on this vote, but not because he is a "leftist". this has nothing to do with him being a "leftist". it's all behind the scenes deal making schemes.
an unconstitutionalist, perhaps?

What would be the proper term?
What would be good terms for these people without resorting the same ol' left/right paradigm trap?

Rons Life
Ron Paul has spent most of his life supporting and defending the constitution (unlike Dennis). He doesn't have to distance himself from anyone. He can stand on his record with confidence and Dennis can stand on his record with shame as being compromised by something in his past that he doesn't want to be brought out into the public. The ride on air force one was a review of those things.
Do you have something in your closet that you would do anything to suppress? I bet you do. Dennis sold out to keep his in the closet.
Kucinich is a leftist
albeit one not in corporations' pockets.
That, by definition, means he favors extra-constitutional measures.
This is really no surprise.
To pass legislation, you ally with people who agree with you on that specific issue. This is what Ron Paul is doing with the Fed bill. You agree to disagree on the rest, and Dr. Paul has never endorsed Kucinich.
Yes, Obviously.
You nailed it quite succinctly.

Who are you to demand anything from Dr. Paul?
He has done very well so far, and he has already spoken about this subject many times so why do you think he needs to appease you? DR. Paul only needs to do what he thinks is right, not what every other person tells him is right. He has sacrificed most of his life for this cause, so maybe we should trust him to continue to do the right thing, just like he has so far.
I'm nobody really.
Just a citizen like yourself who's freedom Ron Paul enjoys defending.
Nobody really, just a husband of twenty-six years to one wife and a father of three.
Though, I will not raise anyone to the level of royalty such that anyone speaking a desire to them is taken as an offense.
Thanks for your input, greatly appreciated.
Have a blessed day.

This is why Constitutionalism is a Foolish Agenda
It's foolish if the strongest supporters of it kow-tow over the biggest and most expensive issues (save Ron Paul of course).
It's foolish because! If all politicians were constitutionalists would there be a need for Gov't?
For Gov't to work there needs to be the right balance of altnernating opinions to keep you people interested in spending billions of dollars per year on lobbying.
----Because we were "this" close to making everything perfect; let's try it again or encourage our children to take up the perpertual war.
It's funny how abdication of self-rule can never manifest liberty (self-defense and self-health nor self-rule)
Voting + Lobbying = Abdication of Self-Rule
*&^ Constitution --- Constitutional Rationality
There isnt that much difference even on the health care
We SHOULD have a non-profit single payer system in this country. That is a very good idea that Rep. Kucinich has. With one small change... it is ran by an NGO instead of by the government. IF the christians in this country REALLY wanted to do something good for us all they could spend less money on building big TV shows and churches and instead start up an NGO with the sole purpose to run a non-profit single payer system that ANYONE could join.
"non-profit single payer
"non-profit single payer system that ANYONE could join."
but NOONE would be forced to join in. That's the crucial difference between Christians and socialists. Christians would chip in out of the goodness of their heart, while socialists would pretend spending a few pennies out of every stolen dollar on something most agree is a good deed, justifies the theft itself.
Whatever denomination Kucinich claims as his own, on this issue, he is in the latter camp. Nothing but a despicable, back stabbing, constitution and basic human decency tool.
And unless you happen to be in a vastly different, and more Christian oriented, media environment than I am, whenever someone mentions single payer, they almost inevitably speak of the socialist scheme of legalized theft, not of Christian brotherly love.
You are correct
We have a Ron Paul that talks about what should NOT be done (government running everything including health care)... what we also need is a Ron Paul that talks about what we SHOULD be doing... talking about SOLUTIONS.
If a TRUE free market is the way to go then what are the solutions? Progressives say the government is the solution... what is our solution?
Freedom is our
Freedom is our solution.
Freedom to enter into contract with a care provider, or with an insurance company, in a way each party agrees to do voluntarily.
And specifically freedom FROM third party interference with those contracts. Meaning, no trial lawyers roaming around dragging people into courts over anything other than explicit contract breaches. That, in and of itself would cut a hefty bit of costs out of the system.
Freedom from having the AMA, or any other labor organization ban you from contracting with whoever you darned well please to provide you care, for whatever compensation you and your budding care provider both come to an agreement over.
Freedom from having some bureaucrat put limits on what treatment you and your chosen care provider agree is appropriate.
Freedom from having said bureaucrats tell you where you can get your medications from, like they currently do with reimportation bans.
And similarly freedom from them telling your voluntarily chosen insurer, should you choose to contract with one, what they can cover, who they must and must not cover, and who they can agree to reimburse to provide the services they have contracted to cover. If an insurance co wants to sell you insurance at a discount provided you agree to have all non emergency care done for cheap abroad, that is nobody's business but you and your insurer and the foreign provider.
Etc., Etc.,....
The only thing all the anti discrimination, pre existing condition and other nonsense laws accomplish, is driving up costs, and providing above market pay for a bunch of non productive leeches who in a free world would have to shape up and get give better care for less money.
This was a great string of posts
Freedom is the answer.
Hmmm just checking quickly and I did find a Christian Health Care available. Oh, look there is one here and they do want to help. There are probably a few more not found by google, you know how those Christians are. ;-)

The night is far spent, the day is at hand.
And those who have not heard shall understand.
Stop seizing 40% of productive people's product
And stop funneling money to all forms of evil rent-seekers, and just see what would happen in terms of charitable organizations.
Creating ever stronger layers of corporatism backed by intense force and armies of compliance officers is no way to create a society where well being, health, and prosperity measure highly.

AMEN!
AMEN!
I am really disappointed in
I am really disappointed in Dennis.
Yea & it's great
to think that all Kucinich's change of vote came from talking to HIS WIFE..That's the kind of representation we all should get..One woman's opinion changes a Congressional vote..Thanks for putting words in my mouth..MRS.K.
He never said that...
How can someone take what you say seriously when you are clearly spreading false info?
Kucinich said he consulted a list of people... one of which was his wife which he always discusses his politics stuff with. Nothing new there.
I Guess You've Never Seen Dennis's Wife...
I believe she could convert Satan himself...

Sick of left and right
All the miracles you accomplish without help. I bet your big Ford truck was made with your big man hands. Have you ever witnessed a sick, dying human being?
You worked hard right? Got your pension from your corporate caretaker?
Lucky you, bright eyes. I am certain, if you made enough money to become a tax-payer, you did it with your head bowed and tail between your legs. You are dependent on someone's money to make a living, to pay your health costs, to get your kids some toys at Christmas.
You want eighteenth century liberty?
Go climb a mountain and work like a beaver for the next thirty years.
Who should pay? Who's responsible for "health" drugs and care? I don't know. But a 50% tax burden to pay for the military/boeing/lockheed martin steel mega-empire has always been the problem. Standing armies are the problem.
I'm getting so sick of your left and right.
Go under the radar if you want freedom. Work under the table. Of course you'll have to set aside your delicious property. Plant your own vegetables secretly in a lot, snag your own wildlife, ask a friend to change your diaper when incontinent.
Whether it's left or right, it's all governmental whining.
Kucinich is a constitutionalist. How he interprets the document is what differs from Paul. He's not left. He's from Cleveland. Ever been to Cleveland? What joy!
Stop the left and right nonsense.
It's pathetic.
It's like nobody on the dailypaul has suffered. I'd like to see some of us supermen standing in a line-up with our pot-bellies and old man(lady) farts.
Thresh
Supermen still standing and .....
"Kucinich is a constitutionalist." LOL
Funniest thing you said and discredits the rest of your post.
Nothing left to say. Sorry, I said left. All right then. Ooops.
I have that same problem about left and right yet I find it too convenient to use in brief posts. Left and right labeling can have different meaning to different people. I do think being right is the same as being constitutional. I've been thinking most of the time Ron Paul has been right. :-)
Here's something you'll not enjoy. Go here you'll see Kucinich above the bar five names from the "left" yikes, and Ron Paul is about ten names from the right. Kind of interesting.

I wanted to respond to this, but I couldn't figure it out
If you figured out what the heck he was talking about please translate it for me.
Reading it made me want to climb a mountain and work like a beaver.
*May the only ones to touch your junk, be the ones you want to touch your junk.*
he agrees where he can agree--
and that is why he (Ron Paul) has gotten so far--
I won't tell him what to do.
I think it's 'enough' to agree on one issue--
and not waste time worrying about the other things--
Ron Paul has enough people on this board (*nudge, nudge, wink*) who will do that for him.
it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--
Wow...don't tell me that "we DP'ers" are finally getting it.
Time to STOP the candidate "worshpping" and understand that polititions are "for the most part" wishy washy and will flow with the pressure.
The way to Freedom & Liberty is not through today's corrupt politics... but rather thru "grassroots" organizing with the goal of "removing" politics from governing. They are NOT the same thing !!!
Discover Costa Rica
Ron Paul isn't intentionally divisive, so I doubt he will do tha
that.
He got his HR 1207 passed in the House by ignoring differences and fighting for the issues progressives and conservatives could agree on. He has come out many times with his views on health care and his opposition to this bill. It would be out of character for him to berate someone who is an ally on other issues because they disagree on this issue.
There are reasons Dennis K is a Democrat, obviously.
Beyond that, Dennis endorsed Obama when he withdrew from his campaign, as Ron Paul did NOT endorse McCain. We know who we like best.
But isn't this a huge issue?
Well said, and I agree but this is a huge issue.
I was just looking for a timely response to said communist Rep. Kucinich about a HIGHLY intrusive legislative act designed to attack our freedoms. To me it would be similar to throwing a bit of water on the flames is all. Striking while the metal is hot, that kind of thing.
If you win a few small battles, who cares when the bigger battle at a different location is lost. Yes, I know Rep. Paul has been faithful in all he does.
...and timing is a good thing too.
Knowing then he will not for he did not strike, I guess we'll do the striking of the metal with our blogs and thanks goes to Daily Paul for the opportunity to do so.
Have a blessed day!

Best Stated...
...thank you.
If I may amplify: The Good Doctor doesn't have the time or the energy to detail ALL the disagreements on ALL the issues with ALL the other members of the House. He's got work to do. Let the nattering classes who never fully understood either Congressmen Paul or Kucinich gnash their teeth and rend their garments over Dennis-the-Red-Menace's inevitable apostasy.
