what do you guys think of Paul Ryan's...

Roadmap for america's future.

This sounds like we would be a lot closer to freedom through this. I know not perfect but it would have to be gradual.

but it sounds like someone (below) from his home state . . . has the summary on him--

Sure beats the current system. But pretty much anything does, so that is not saying much. It's trivial for anyone to come up with a plan better than what is currently there, since they don;t have to horse trade to get it passed. By the time congress was done with this one, I bet it would be just as broken as what we have today. Or at least close to it.

His plan still leaves the feds to tax income, basically guaranteeing the 10% / 25% / $39k deductible will be "altered", or "modernized" over time. And never to tax payers benefit. And it still drags the feds into health coverage, retirement planning, and all kinds of other areas where they have no business being, but that gives them commend over huge parts of the economy even without directly confiscating them via the tax bill.

Still, on an up or down vote versus anything the current administration is likely to come up with, up would be the way to vote. But even with this passed, I'd still move to any state seceding over excessive federal interference in the lives of individuals.

He also voted for TARP, GM bailout, making Patriot Act permenant, voted for $200 billion stimulus package, and i believe he allowed 2 wars to start

Paul Ryan also has some sort of ties to the Council of Foreign Relations. I was unable to find any evidence that he is a member of the CFR though.
