Tea Partiers MARCH on Capitol to STOP Obamacare TODAY!!!
Tea Partiers March on Capitol to Stop Obamacare
Saturday, 20 Mar 2010 01:48 PM
Tea Party activists returned Saturday to the nation’s capital to make one final stand Saturday against the health care reform bill ahead of an expected Sunday vote.
Thousands of Tea Partiers marched upon the Capitol in an effort to derail the passage of "Obamacare" by pressuring undecided lawmakers to vote "no" Sunday, according to Fox News.
Saturday's event featured actor Jon Voight, Reps. Mike Pence, R-Ind., chairman of the House Republican Conference, Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., and Steve King, R-Iowa.
"This is the final push, and the Democrats' last ditch effort to push through the most unpopular legislation in years," Bachmann said.
At times protestors broke into chants of "Kill the bill!"
Some 60 Tea Party affiliates organized the event in the four days since Tuesday's rally after organizers were flooded with requests to hold another one for those who couldn't take off of work for the first one.
Tea Partiers also plan to confront undecided Democratic lawmakers in their congressional offices and convince them to vote against the bill.
Ana Puig of Pennsylvania said she came with eight busloads of Tea Partiers.
"The people are excited," she told Fox News. "They feel this is our last chance to really let these people here at the House know that we don't want them to pass this bill. It's unconstitutional."

Kill the Bill Rally Sunday Afternoon!!!! America is waking up!!!

well they did not get the bill killed...but at least they showed
up and (perhaps) gave them a taste of what is to come!!!
8:05 A.M. Called Feingold AND Kohl from WI
Kohl first, message left: Considering this "president" doesn't consider praying or church important, feel it of utmost importance that the entire congress pray, meditate that what they are about to do is absolutely the right thing to do when this president's approval rating stands in the mid forties and the American people have waken-up to an extent. The majority DISAPPROVE of ObamaCare. How can a congressman vote in favor of something like this?
Feingold's box full. Guess in his devine wisdom, he already knows what to do:-(

Two of us attended both the antiwar rally outside the White
House and the anti-government healthcare rally at the Capitol. Best estimate was about 1500-2000 folks at the peace rally and nearly 40,000 at the other one!
Both were peaceful events, although the crowds became quite boisterous at times in response to the many and varied speakers. We noticed many SDS signs, as colleges are recruiting new students for a democratic society effort. There were many Stop the War t-shirts, definitely from VietNam era days. All ages were represented at both sites.
Each rally commenced at 12Noon. The one at the Capitol lasted two hours; then we started chanting in front of the Rayburn Building where Congress was meeting. When a "NOBAMA healthcare" truck drove around the block, loud cheers emanated from those on the sides of the street. Other chants of "Nancy, Nancy" and "Kill the Bill" were repeated over and over. The folks were expected to return to the West Lawn for a candlelight vigil at 7 PM, but we had to drive home before that next protest.
A couple people smiled at our "Ron Paul 2012" stickers on our hats. Most signs dealt with the healthcare issue or anti-war issues, but there many, many clever signs of all subjects!
An impressive showing, but those Congress critters turn a deaf ear to the multitudes of "We The People", I'm afraid to report, after seeing the news reporting that it will most likely pass on Sunday.
Very sad....
I'll try to upload some pix tomorrow. In Liberty.
Thanks for the update.....
wow...40,000 and this was a last minute rally...(think there was 100,000 at the Ron Paul march in 2008, with months to prepare, etc)
That is good news..Americans are like a slumbering bear in deep deep deep hibernation, however the very first bears are waking up, when the really big ones wake up... there will be millions showing up to DC...and at that point only a handful need to bring weapons ..and we have essentially retaken the Republic!!
If only there was a way to jump start the awakening of the big bears... perhaps a full scale civil war could be prevented....
Here is an article saying there were racial slurs shouted.......
....at some Representative.
Tea party protesters hurl racial insults at congressmen

And here is my response to that article:
I don't think you needed an ID check to attend the Tea Party rally. Anyone could show up including racists and those pretending to be racists in order to discredit the Tea Party movement, and believe me, there are powerful vested interests who want to see this movement crushed. Tea Party groups have been proved to be good citizens by their behavior. They police the grounds, picking up every scrap of trash, are polite toward capitol cops, and most do not use profane language, so this report is a bit suspect in my opinion, more likely the work of agents provocateur if indeed the words were even uttered.

I agree
We must be wiser than the serpent!
Obama care is not socialized
Obama care is not socialized medicine - it is Communist Health Care.
Imagine how you can be controlled when health care can be denied to people who are politically incorrect. Think it can't happen? This Administration claims to have the right to assassinate American citizens that it considers a threat. Denying health care is easy.
Isn't it...
a lengthy process nowdays to get permits and clearance for such a protest?
How did these clowns get all that completed in a just a few days?

They're an important part of the show
The permit was probably ready as soon as they knew the vote date. Pelosi's office probably hand-carried the application for them. Oh wait, I'm sorry, I meant Pelosi's office was probably scared of protestors stopping the bill from passing---lol.
And I wrote a very nasty letter too. . .why didn't it work? Well, let's pick another issue and write some letters and send some petitions. Maybe once they understand how serious we are about writing letters, then they'll start listening. We probably just didn't have enough signatures or diggs on this issue to make a difference.

Weebles, are you anti- Tea Party?
The tone of your question suggests that you are. What do you find objectionable about them?
New Hampshire and Ecuador
Which Tea Parrty...
are you referring to? There are several factions. The neocon faction (the largest), the confused republicans that think that every republican is like Reagan (next largest), then the Ron Paul original Tea Party (the smallest faction), etc..
So, 2/3rd of Tea Partiers are neocon plus confused Reagan republicans clowns.
:)

So Did The Tea Party Interfere/Overshadow the Anti War March?
will be interesting to find out .... I would guess 95% of Tea Partiers are pro war ....
so, there was an Anti War March today in DC
an Anti health care tea party today in DC
an Immigration Reform March today/tomorrow in DC
wish they would all get together and surround congress
Re 95% pro-war, instead of guessing, find out.
Make up a simple one-question survey form, print it up, grab a clipboard and a couple pens, and go to a Tea Party event and ask attendees. I think many here would be interested in your report.

GOOD QUESTION!!!
and your right... they should all surround the capitol...(however what they should do after that , I cannot say on this forum..)
