LPUK member Max Andronichuk has started a nifty little forum for libertarians in Britain.

http://libertyuk.ning.com/

Actually, you don't have to be an LPUK member (most aren't) or even British to join. All liberty lovers are welcome.

It has some cool features like a chatroom and a personal page to put your music, photos and blog posts on.

Since I avoid Facebook in much the same way that vampires avoid garlic, it might ease me into the social networking arena. I joined this evening.

I'm on there as SoundMoneyMan but my profile isn't filled in yet.

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul

From which ideology do they come?

I apologize for not knowing more about the liberty mindset in Britain. I sometimes read Mary Ellen Synon's "Euroseptic" column in DailyMailOnline. I saw Daniel Hannan recently tried to start a Tea party-like protest but watching from afar it seems like Britains, like most EU states, will have a harder sell with a liberty mindset than we until there is a complete financial collapse. Personally I feel that will jerk a lot of Americans out of their pre-occupation with domestic interventionism. It's still in our collective family experiences and sense of priorities. Have the UK libertarians discussed what the ideological campaign will need to be to win the hearts and minds of Britains in that scenario?

Here's some background on the LPUK

Here's the party website:

So far, we have only one elected local government offical in the northwest of England. He actually defected from the Liberal Democrats.

There is alot of debate within the organisation about what to focus on and how to get the message across to the public.

I have my own views on that, but I don't know if those opinions are widely held.

The LPUK electoral strategy for now is to boycott the EU elections altogether and focus on the local and national level.

Since Daniel Hannan (Conservative Party) and Nigel Farage (UKIP) are both Euro MEPs that might seem like an odd stance to take. We'll see how it plays out.

As the economy crumbles, people will start to "get political" on both sides of the Atlantic.

Truly a historic moment

To see the Gadsen flag flying in the UK.Amazing!
What an unusual concept our founding fathers had,Freedom!,It is a very strong concept.

The strange thing is?

It is probably safer to display it in the UK than here in the states,When displayed here it could tie you to a radical terrorist group.

Yes, according to the MIAC report.

Its alot safer to fly the Gadsen flag in Britain.

How wonderful

well done. Hope this goes global because this fight is global. The elite wants WWIII what if no one showed up. Let the elite fight THEIR own damn wars.

That's right.

Unlike most of the small forums that have a chatroom, this one is actually getting some use!

Talking to Americans on the Daily Paul has given me political insights that I wouldn't have obtained by just talking to fellow Brits.

It has been a real "eye opener" to say the least. Britain is, in many respects, a "beta-testing" area for the NWO.

Talking to people who already live in the land of "Anti-social Behaviour Orders" and constant surviellance might be instructive for Americans, if only to learn what the consequences of complacency are.

We use many of the symbols, icons and quotations of the American Revolution as they seem to represent the way forward in a way that our own history does not.

No Poisonous Snakes?

We borrowed our symbols from the land, but I guess we owe many of our ideas to many cultures.

IMissLiberty

Only one: the Adder.

But I have a feeling that British libertarians will appropriate many symbols of the American revolution, as we don't have a liberty tradition of our own.

Not unless you count Oliver Cromwell and Britain's first republic didn't pan out so well.
