Here's the web site for the 2nd amend meant Mr Betts and I started in Wasilla Alaska,( www.matsu2atf.com) so far we have tacked illegal "no weapons" signs in public areas, we gathered support, submitted blue prints and volunteered
land clearing as well as securing "at cost" work by a local construction crew for a 15 lane gun range in town.
we are organizing and participating in several rally events, but I am always looking for more ideas, let me know what you think!
we currently have a loose membeship that meets every tuesday night to discuss what ever anyone wants to bring up.

Look For govt Funding
I bet there is state and federal funding available for your range. There are a bunch of programs for parks and public access and land aquisition. Some reuire the city to state to sponser the funding and some require you to be private. There is a lot of stuff out there.
the project is completely
the project is completely funded by the City of Wasilla and is going to be built on City land right next to a multi use convention center.
the only reason this range got stopped was due to one city council member (that owns an empty lot adjacent to the proposed build site) started spreading mis information about the range, we have over come that and are well on our way to completion with the final meetings due to be completed this month.

Have you heard of Schaeffer
Have you heard of Schaeffer Cox?
Quite a 2nd amendment guy.
I heard that he and others are planning an armed march on the state house in the near future.

Mr Cox started the 2nd
Mr Cox started the 2nd amendment task force efforts in our state and they have since spread to my project, the matsu 2nd amendment task force, he recently (13 march 2010) spoke at a rally our group got together.

Great Work.
Hey, it sounds like you're doing some great work.
Here is my suggestion: Go to
http://www.appleseedinfo.org
Follow the "forum." Then there is a section on the forum called "Your Appleseed State Board" (you may have to register to read this; I'm not sure). In any case, there is a thread in this section called "Bailing a bit more, on a national level." Follow that, and find a post called "Here's the straight dope on making it happen."
Download the forms, and get going.
Also, you can check out the "Alaska" thread. You will find that there are a gaggle of instructors all anxious to come up there and teach a clinic. However, there has never been an Appleseed in Alaska, as far as I know. And there is not one scheduled (yet) for 2010. I also found out that there is supposed to be a nice range in Fairbanks. In short, find the place, and we will come.
It's a suggestion, and an easy structured way to create your own community.
I'll check it out, thanks
