What a difference one "meaningless" straw poll makes

We've all heard the pundits declare straw polls "meaningless" in the wake of Ron Paul's decisive victory at CPAC in February. However, the "scientific" polls the pundits love so much say otherwise:

Ron Paul Pre-CPAC
2%: http://www.gallup.com/poll/125777/Voters-Divided-Obama-Repub...

Ron Paul Post-CPAC
11%: http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2010/03/romney-leads...
8%: http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/03/25/rel5i.pdf

Want to see the difference another major straw poll victory would make?

1. Buy your SRLC ticket at http://www.campaignforliberty.com/srlc2010.php and
2. Pledge to vote for Ron Paul (between 10am and 5pm on either Friday, April 9 or Saturday, April 10) at http://battleofneworleans2010.com
3. RSVP at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=107027639325734

Let's keep this post on top until April 10!

Answer to questions below:

CPAC was in February and won't happen again until February 2011. The SRLC (Southern Republican Leadership Conference) starts Thursday, April 8, next week. You can buy a conference ticket from Campaign for Liberty for $30 (they are $120 if you buy them directly from the SRLC site at full price), which will give you access to the general sessions, as well as the straw poll, for the duration of the conference from Thursday through Sunday. Ron Paul will speak on Saturday afternoon, April 10. Straw poll voting is open from 10am to 5pm on both Friday and Saturday. So the only day you would need to be there to both see Ron Paul and vote for him is Saturday afternoon, though your ticket would allow you to be there from Thursday through Sunday.

Libertarian Party of Mississippi convention in Hattiesburg

For the MSLP supporters that are making the trip to New Orleans to support Dr. Paul. The official convention ends at 7:00pm on April 10th, giving everyone time to make it back to Hattiesburg. Even after the convention offically ends at 7:30, we'll still be enjoying refreshments at the reception which starts at 7:30.

I recommend eveyone shoot to New Orleans, support Dr Paul, and then buzz up to Hattiesburg and attend the convention.

For what it's worth, Ernest Hancock will be speaking at our event. You can go to numerous websites in cyberworld to find the particulars of our convention

You can also vote for Ron Paul on Friday

between 10am and 5pm.

Update!!

To register, please reply to teri.capshaw@campaignforliberty.com with your name, street, city, state and zip code. With this information a ticket will be reserved in your name and will be available for pick up at the Campaign for Liberty booth located in the conference.

How many girls are you taking?

.

NOT many...

So upset, could of tried harder to get more interested...or have just made contact with the girls already going, but this past month I just got overwhelmed with "something" that took most all of my time away. I totally failed this one. I's love to get updates on EVERY event that Ron Paul is going to be at in the Southern States. Like 3 months at least in advance before? any site you know of that has just updates of his events? If not, that's another good ron paul website idea... ronpaulevents.com, or ronpaul updates? I'll check on the domain name tonight!

Ron Paul was only recently invited

due to his CPAC win and phone calls to the SRLC from his supporters. So there was very little time to prepare for this. The other candidates have been preparing for a year because they were certain to be invited.

Why not put this info in the post?

It will just get buried here in the comments.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

Done

Thanks

Anyone driving from Nashville?

I know someone who would like to carpool.

I'll be there

Wild horses couldn't keep me away.

Awesome!

Can you bring anyone with you?

My wife and I will certainly be there

Trying to get some others to come along! Woo-hoo!

Contact Trevor Lyman

If anyone knows Trevor Lyman personally, please ask him to use his moneybomb email lists for the benefit of Ron Paul at the SRLC! A few of us from RonPaulForums.com have already emailed him but haven't gotten any responses yet.

My understanding is that

My understanding is that Trevor only uses his list when he is paid a fee, this is why you have not received a response.

If you send an email saying you will pay him the fee he wants he will then email for you.

Sadly, he will *still* be the only candidate in 2012

promising to immediately withdraw all troops from Iraq.

i'll be there

this will be another milestone in the journey towards freedom

Us 2

2 of us will be there as well. I'm getting a bit worried about the liberty minded turnout, but I'll keep my expectations low and enthusiasm high. This will be our first time seeing RP in person. I'm also interesting in seeing/hearing from Gary Johnson; although RP will get our votes in the poll.

Yes it will!

Let's bump this back to the first page!!!

First page would be great!!

Mr Nystrom, sir....
Little help please???

are we really only at

28 pledged? I certainly hope this number is incorrect.

87 pledged on Facebook

Let's hope there are a lot of people attending who don't read Ron Paul sites or who can't be bothered submitting their email address.

Gary Johnson in SRLC!

I just noticed that Ron Paul won't be alone with the neocons in SRLC as one of invited speakers is Gary Johnson. This is a nice news!

It's nice that he'll have company

but hopefully the libertarian vote won't be split.
