KEYES FOR VP????

0 votes

If RP is assasinated who would you like to replace him???

Does this question bring things into perspective?

He would be the equivelant of an LBJ or worse.

We need someone to run our revolution not his own!!!

Who would I pick for VP

I wouldn't pick Alan Keyes because he doesn't understand the Constitution!
On Todays Des Moines PBS debate Keyes showed his ignorance of this whole abuse of "executive orders" by stated that he would use the President's pin to issue an executive order to do such and such. I believe it had to do with ending abortion. He criticized the judicial branch for writting and making law, but failed to realize that the executive branch is prohibited from making or writting law too! Article One, Section One says that "All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives."
There's nothing in there about Executive orders or signing statements by the President or chief Executive.
Plus, I think the guy would turn people off with his Preacher style of oratory. I like preachers and Chuck Baldwin is one of my favorites, but Keyes just rubs me the wrong way. His mouth starts running before his brain is fully engaged. One thing though. He doesn't stammer or stutter.

Mark Sanford would be a better choice.

Well, when I look at all the other candidates,

I think Alicia Keyes would be a more suitable VP than any of the Dem or GOP hopefuls! Oh... You mean Alan? Forget it....

Is this an effective way to

Is this an effective way to keep the liberals from assassinating President Paul?

5% of people make things happen
10% of people watch things happen
85% say "What happened?"

LOL Awesome

That rocks

Uhhhhh...

Uhhhhh....I'm...uhhhh....nevermind, this question doesn't warrant an answer.

Paul will never pick Alan

Paul will never pick Alan Keys as his running mate; just forget it. Please don't wast time think abou this combindation it will never happen.

No, No, No, No... forget it!

Keyes is an old roommate of Bill Kristol and Kristol is a NEO-CON! Bill Kristol is a Leo Strauss student. Strauss is the godfather of all the treasonous nutcases. Some beleive they put Keyes in this race to somehow negatively effect Dr.Paul.

Like Dr.Paul says, use the Internet to educate yourself. Analyze the data. It's all there....

That's the objection?

Listen, I don't like the neo-con philosophy any more than any other Paul supporter, but the beliefs of his former roommate is not a sufficient reason to dismiss him...

He's not just an ex-roommate

He's not just an ex-roommate he's a confidante. Sorry, let me rephrase that: ALAN KEYES IS A STUDENT OF LEO STRAUSS.

Strauss, a German Jewish professor of philosophy, taught political science at the University of Chicago after fleeing Nazi Germany. The list of Strauss' students and admirers includes a number of luminaries of the conservative intellectual movement between the 1950s and the 1990s: Willmoore Kendall, Irving Kristol and his son William, Robert Bork, Harvey Mansfield, Alan Keyes, Clarence Thomas, and William Bennett, among others. The late Allan Bloom, in The Closing of the American Mind, and Francis Fukuyama, in The End of History, have made the larger public and not just the intellectual community aware of Straussian themes.

SAUL YOU ARE A MOLE

We have been through this before saul. Why do you have to be a pesky little mole? SAY NO TO EDWARDS and KEYES. THEY ARE NEOCONS. PS say no to saul. BAN HIM.

Edwards?

Please explain, because I can't see Paul picking any current presidential candidate from EITHER party to be his running mate.

Edwards?

Saul drops Edward's name all

Saul drops Edward's name all the time. I think it's just to stir up the hornets.

Sick question about RP

I was in a position where someone said that the only way to stop the organization that I belong to was to assassinate its leaders. That affected me very deeply, even though the loser who said it said he 'didn't mean it in that way'.

Would you want Dr. Paul or his family to read that? Grow up.

Let's assume Keyes

If we assume Keye's as a choice. Who else?

Pleae do not assume that I am in favor of Keyes, because I am not.

mark sanford

The republican governor of South Carolina would be a much better fit imo:

"Sanford is often one of two members of Congress, along with Ron Paul, voting against bills that otherwise get unanimous support. He opposes pork barrel projects even when they benefit his own district"

"Sanford has sometimes had a contentious relationship with the South Carolina General Assembly, even though it is controlled by his party. The Republican-led SC House of Representatives overrode 105 of Sanford's 106 budget vetoes on May 26, 2004. The following day, Sanford brought live pigs into the House chamber as a visual protest against "pork projects".

Not THIS @#$%^& thread again! (nt)

...

For VP

Randy Brogdon (R Oklahoma) Without a doubt! This man must be Ron Paul's running mate in this election!

No new ideas here

Mark Sanford has experience and the trust of southern conservatives, as well as voting consistently with Ron Paul when in Congress against spending and big government.
Andrew Napolitano has the charisma, his views synch up with Paul completely and he has the ability to mobilize the Italian American demographic (not pandering or anything)

But yeah, consistently Sanford and Napolitano are the two favorite choices.

Is there anyone as smart as Paul and Keyes??

Keyes is very smart but

I thought he was great a few years ago but the more you find out about him.... He is definitely a bit unstable. There are reasons noone knows who he is and why he's never done much. And that guy who said he is a neocon plant is right. I think Bill Kristol encouraged him to run from what I read somewhere(?). He's the other 'real-thing' candidate designed to hurt Ron Paul imo.

"What does conservatism today stand for? It stands for war. It stands for power. It stands for spying, jailing without trial, torture, counterfeiting without limit, and lying from morning to night."

Lew Rockwell

Well, the war subject seems to seal it, but

I think it's important not to dismiss Dr. Keyes for the same reason that the mainstream pundits attempted ot dismiss Dr. Paul, that he's an unstable, out there guy.

HE IS PRO WAR!

http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/kramer2.html

Ron would NEVER ask him to be his VP, as he is for the war.

It seems not, at least according

to this excerpt from his website. He doesn't say that he'll bring the troops hom immediately, however, which sucks, but he doesn say:
"This whole business of nation-building and shepherding people through representative government — it's not our purpose. How many people believe that we're going to introduce representative self-government in the Middle-East in the Arabic and Islamic countries, where they have never known not even one moment of liberty and self-government, as individuals or as a people where even some of their own clerics stand up and declare that their religion is contrary to the very principles of self-government?

How many people think we're going to do it, in one year, in five years, in one generation? I don't think we will! Why on earth did we set it as our objective? It makes no sense! You set yourself up for failure, and we did."

Church & State

The man doesn't understand the vital importance of seperating Church & State.
