PETITION IMUS TO SUPPORT RON PAUL

I think we should petition Imus to support Ron Paul. Imus is a political force, albiet weakend of late, but still wields considerable influence. He hasnt endorsed a candidate and makes a big deal out of it when he does. He wants out of Iraq. Hes on the same station with Hannity and Rush (how sweet would that be), and his buddy is Kinky Freidman who has already endorsed Ron. Lets send Imus an email vis the webmaster or you can log on the WABC website and send emails through the Program Director. Ive got a feeling this could be a big plus for the Campaign if we can talk Imus into supporting Ron

Even though the "creative" instinct (often denied, but just as often true) in the past has been for Anus to copy Howard Stern whenever he thinks he can get away with it, I don't think we'll be so "lucky" in this case. And it's one endorsement I don't care for like others here dislike Stern's (which has come!). Anyway, the celebrity we SHOULD be courting is a writer named Dave Barry. He'd be the best POSSIBLE speech writer for Dr. Paul, but he's too rich to care much about money.

IMUS has the support of many political types on one of the most widely used medium for talk. People drive their cars all morning in the greater new york area and listen to him. He has not endorsed a candidate, but he will.
-When he does, people will listen to him.
-He gave John Kerry big support.
-His best freind Kinky Freidman is backing Ron Paul who ran for governor of Texas.
-Imus supported a black man (Harold Ford Jr.) for senator of Tennesse and put him on the air for months (Al Sharpton never told you that)
Imus show serves one of the largest media markets in the world (NY Drive time radio) BEFORE Rush and that Hannity idiot even get on the air.
BUMP this and email WABC radio (Drudge Report also on that network)
Do yor part and put the Race "Wedge issue" aside and get Imus to put Ron Paul on his show NOW

Since Imus has been back on the air in the last two weeks, Giuliani, Huckabee and McCain have all appeared on his show. I haven't seen negative reactions.

Uh...I can't see what good would come of Imus endorsing or associating with Ron Paul...or maybe because he wears a cowboy hat, right?
Undoubtedly the media would put a lot of negative spin on such a meeting.

I've worked for 2 media companies (Studio-On-Hudson and Creative Business Communications) for four years now. This 2-in-1 company are run by the Executive Producers of "SuperSize Me." Not pulling anyone.
Even a genuine message needs to be planned to the people who will hopefully listen and vote. We're just tapping into unlimited resources. It's efficient. It comes down to being an effective medium.
Ask not what Imus is saying, but why are people tuning into him? His tone goes against the status quo and plenty people use it as their source of news.
I think this is a go.

i love any forum that Paul can preach his message on. But actively seeking out someone is quite different, and in this case, the person is very controversial. I think if he was invited, that it would be great in some sense. But let the initiative come from imus. We don't need to be searching out potentially dangerous situations.

Imus unfortunately made some racist remarks that will no doubt be played on if Ron Paul associates himself with Imus. Imus wrecked his credibility with that "nappy headed hoes" statement. What a racist thing to say!
I will never listen to him. I hope Ron Paul will never go on his show.
Ron Paul is very very busy filling in shows and campaigning. It is not necessary to have Ron Paul on this show. Other shows are much more respectable...

So I think I know a racist when I see and hear one. In my mind and the minds of most, if not all people of color, Don Imus exposed himself as one. Dr. Paul does not need his endorsement. It would not tarnish Dr. Paul in my mind, but why invite attacks from his enemies. If he wants to endorse Ron Paul on his own, that's fine. Other than that, let it go. Bad idea!!!

ive listened to him for years and never considered him racist. he supported Harold Ford junior intesely for his bid in the senate remember? He has a huge listening audience who are smart people and vote.
