How to deal with NON-radical Islam?
The Koran is replete with hate and violence.
For example (from http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/):
Muslims continued their Jihad against other religions for 1400 years after the death of Muhammad which was checked only by the ability of non-Muslims to defend themselves. To this day, not a week goes by that Islamic fundamentalists do not attempt to kill Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists explicitly in the name of Allah.
And:
Muhammad had people killed for insulting him or criticizing his religion. This included women. Muslims are told to emulate the example of Muhammad.
If that's not bad enough:
10,000 deadly terror attacks committed explicitly in the name of Islam in just the last six years. (Other religions combined for perhaps a dozen or so).
Finally, the main reason for this forum topic, literal quotes from the Koran:
"Make war on them until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme." (Koran 8:37)
The Koran instructs not to make friendship with Jews and Christians (Koran 5:51) but to war against them: "When the Sacred Months are over, kill those who ascribe partners to God wheresoever ye find them; seize them, encompass them, and ambush them; then if they repent and observe prayer and pay the alms, let them go their way (Koran 4:5).
"...kill the disbelievers wherever we find them" (Koran 2:191); "fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem" (Koran 9:5); "murder them and treat them harshly" (Koran 9:123).
"Instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers"; "smite above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them" (Koran 8:12; cp. 8:60).
.
.
Clearly the Koran instructs followers to go out and kill infidels for religious reasons beyond occupation.
.
.
My question is: How would non-intervention keep religiously motivated Muslims with enough resources from detonating simultaneous nuclear bombs all across the US?
.
.

I'm very disappointed...
... to see this post on here. It's clear that you don't understand Dr. Paul's message of non-collectivism. We should address people as individuals and not as a group. Now whether this post was by a RP supporter or a shill/troll, it still applies. Even ignoring the fact that these quotes are out of context and these a-holes obviously know zero about Islamic theology, one simple fact remains; if Islam was bent on destroying Christianity it would have done it, about 400-600 years ago, when the Ottomans, Safavids, and Mughals were world superpowers and Europe was just a backwater with no technology.
The answer to the question is simple. YES, non-onterventionism would kep them out because they would have no motivating factor to come here and harm us. The only reason radical Islam gets any traction is because, as the good doctor says, we've been occupying and interfering with them for decades. Are you so racist to think that the Muslim world are just animals who attack and kill other people for no reason at all? THINK!

The Truth about Islam and Terrorism
First of all, all the quotes from Koran posted here are out of context. This is total propaganda.
First things first. Jihad means struggle not war. In fact, there is no permission given to Muslims to attack others except when their own existence is under threat. It is proven from the following verses:
And if they incline to peace, incline thou also to it. 8:61
Do not fight wars of aggression. 2:190
Muslims are not allowed to kill others just because they are Christians or Jews. As it is stated in Koran:
Whoever kills a human being, it is as if he had killed all mankind. Whoever saves life of one, it is as if he had saved the life of all. 5:32
Suicide is strictly prohibited in Islam and the suicide bombing was actually invented by Sri Lanka's Tamil terrorist and used the technique to deadly effect. It was later adopted by Palestinian terrorists against Israel not because it is Islamic (which it is not) but because it was effective and caused maximum damage. History proves that people have indulged in terrorism whenever in conflict with others. Why did USA drop bombs on Japan? The intention was to terrorize Japanese so much that they would give up their occupation drive along the Pacific and South East Asia. Why did allied forces carry out blanket bombing on Berlin. The intention was to terrorize German Nazis so much so that they can give up. One can say that the difference is that the Muslims are carrying out terrorism in the name of Islam. Again, the argument is unfair. The violence that occurs in this world has always occuured for political and economic reasons. But more often than not, it is disguised into other reasons such as religion, democracy, human rights to gain more support from common people and planting lies along the way.
The notion that Muslims are carrying out terrorism purely because of Islam is false and ludicrous. 15 out of 19 terrorists on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia. It is the same country where criticizing the government is illegal and you cannot publicly express any political opinion. Guess what? The government of Saudi Arabia, as totalitarian as it is, has survived and thrived with blessings from Washington. It is also Saudi Arabia where there are thousands of US troops and have been there well before 9/11. Other terrorists on 9/11 were from Egypt. It is yet another country ruled by a brutal dictator aided and supported by the US government. Who the hell is going to buy the argument in the Muslim world that US is in Iraq in order to bring peace and democracy? Instead, some young people get easily convinced by terrorist propaganda that the US and other allies are in Middle East only because they want to eliminate Muslims in their own lands. Hence, they need to take action even if they may be brutal. They give examples like the support of US to Saudi, Egyptian, and Israel governments and the treatment of detainees in Abu Gareb and Guantanamo.
I asked one of my friends few months ago that why it seems to me that all terrorist are Muslims though all Muslims are not terrorists. He replied, "if Muslim armies were in Europe protecting their economic interests or oil wells, all terrorists would have been Christians though all Christians wouldn't have been terrorists."
I truly believe that terrorism can never be justified and the killing of innocents is always a crime regardless of the reasons. These are criminal acts Whether the reasons given are self-defense, religion, or promotion of democracy. Believe me, most of the wars and much of the violence and terrorism have occurred and will occur because of politics and mostly because of economics.
Just like Muslim terrorists use the propaganda that "Christians are attacking Muslim lands and install governments in our countries" to drive young Muslim to the path of terrorism. Neo-conservative Christians use the propaganda that Muslims will attack US because they want to kill us regardless therefore we need to be on offense against radical Islamic terrorists.
Finally to prove that this entire issue is more to do with politics and economics rather than religion or clash of civilizations, consider these facts:
Democratically-elected Mosadeq of Iran was overthrown by CIA because Mosadeq threw BP out of Iran and nationalized oil resources. This brought US-puppet Shah into power. Islamists took advantage and convinced Iranians that the only way to defend themselves and national interests was by bringing in "Islamic revolution".
US and the West support and encourage Saddam so that they can use him against Iran. Iran is now controlled by Islamist which meant no control over Iran's oil wealth by the US. The control that US lost with the overthrowing of US-installed Shah.
With support from US and the West, Saddam gets bold and attacks Iran.
To remain in power, Saddam commits crimes in Jubail and kills thousands of Kurds and even Sunnis. US turns blind eye because Saddam is fighting the US's war against Iran.
US continues its support to Bin Laden and funds Madrasas with millions of dollars where young Muslims are trained with religious propaganda so that they can fight against Soviet Union in Afghanistan.
US state department repeats numerous times "US has no defense treaty with Kuwait" just before Kuwait got occupied by Iraq. This was a signal to Saddam that US would not intervene militarily if Kuwait got attacked. After all US had nothing, when Saddam killed thousands of Kurds by dropping chemical gas on them. Saddam had also used Western-supplied chemical weapons against Iran. Had Saddam knew that there would comprehensive military response, he would have never attacked Kuwait. By the way he attacked Kuwait because he had gone bankrupt due to western-supported 8 year war with Iran. He thought Kuwait had 250 billion dollars in reserves as oil wealth. Attacking Kuwait would provide a quick fix solution to his economic problems.
However, When Saddam did indeed attack Kuwait, US started taking actions within six hours. The allied forces war with Iraq did indeed liberate Kuwait. This war, interestingly however, provided wonderful opportunity for US to keep troops in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar. All oil-rich countries. Later on, War in Afghanistan after 9/11 allowed US troops to be in Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan is an extremely resourceful country in terms of gas and oil.
After Saddam was thrown out of Kuwait, US and Britain created a strategy called no-fly zone and UN inspections in Iraq. This provided an easy justification for continuation of military presence in the Middle East. Due to embargo, 6 million Iraqi children died of malnutrition. When asked about it, Medaline Albright in 1994 said "It was worth it". Due to government pressure and lobbying, Medaline's quote was successfully censored on ABC News. While embargo and no-fly zone allowed continued military presence in the Middle East, Washington Insiders in US started to realize that embargo was making it impossible to control Iraq's oil wells. Lifting it would have meant easing off military pressure and hence less justification for military presence which actually is meant for controlling oil resources in Middle East. In mid 90s, a plan was drawn to go inside Iraq, overthrow Saddam and take control of Iraq's rich oil resources. This would also create military pressure on another oil rich country Iran. When this strategy got finalized and got strength, Iraq Liberation Act in 1998 was introduced which was signed by Bill Clinton. This act made it obligatory for the US government to seek to end Saddam's power in Baghdad by all means. It is to be noted that it happened well before 9/11.
Before I conclude, I want to clarify that all problems in the Middle East are not because of US. But many of the problems are indeed created by the US in particular and the West in general for economic and political. To somehow suggest that 9/11 happened because Muslim terrorists hate American freedom and American women is insane. America now a days is less free than it was 100 years ago and Islam has been here for centuries. Look at the propaganda of terrorists. They always use occupation and blind support of US to puppet and brutal Arab governments and Israel. They never say in their propaganda that we got to attack US because they are free. They know that it doesn't sell and they wouldn't be able to recruit even a single terrorist.
I am expecting a barrage of criticism here but please be objective and factual and don't get personal.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!
I now have complete and utter confidence in the argument against the neocons on this issue.
I'm so glad I asked this question and grateful for the thoughtful and detailed and response from light4planet.

Fundamentalist types of all nature...
Are dangerous. I'm a bit curious regarding the reasons for posting such a thread as I see many others are also.
The truth of the matter is, 99% of Muslims are peaceful, just like 99% of Christians and Jews.
Why the insistance on concentrating on the 1% of fundamentalists is beyond me. Either the poster has an agenda, or has fallen for the propaganda spewed forth to us for the last 6 years.
Tread with care
It is easy to fall into the trap of hate.Throughout the centuries peoples, nations had been pitted against each other for no reason and false cause.Blood has been spilled in the name of all known religions.Ask yourself the question.Who benefits? The answer will show you the way out of the trap.
I think this poster is playing Devil's Advocate...
And even if not, should be treated as such. This is an important issue and arguments like theirs will come up, and have come up to me personally. The fact is, all ancient religions have had violence as part of their history, even Buddhism. The key is that the current majority of most religions disavow or reinterpret their sacred texts' viewpoints on violence. Islam is going through the same process all religions do, namely reformation. It's high time we had some reformist followers of Islam come to this forum, and others, to discuss this ancient religion and its modern principles. If any of you on this forum are Muslim, please enlighten us as to how you interpret and live by these passages in the modern world. If you are Jewish or Christian, please enlighten us on how you interpret your sacred texts in the modern world.
Psalm 137:8-9 (King James Version):
8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. 9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
Numbers 15:32-36 (New International Version)
32 While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day. 33 Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly, 34 and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him. 35 Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp." 36 So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.

Well the Old Testament...
... which both Jews and Christians accept, has its fair share of hate and violence. Nonetheless the vast majority of Jews and Christians manage to get past that. I work with a Muslim man from southeast Asia. He's as decent, intelligent, and mild mannered a person as you will ever meet. (He's also a fan of Ron Paul, and would vote for him if he were a citizen.)

The title says, "How to deal with NON-radical Islam?" and then the first sentence says, "The Koran is replete with hate and violence." and concludes with "How would non-intervention keep religiously motivated Muslims with enough resources from detonating simultaneous nuclear bombs all across the US?"
Please stop adding fuel to this troll's racist rant which takes up valuable Forum space and time.
I'm not a troll!
This is a serious topic that sooner or later we must all come to terms with.
People against RP are going to use debate topics like this to try and persuade the "public" (read MSM) that we have to "fight them there or they'll come here".
I'm not afraid to tackle this issue head-on because I believe RP has the right and constitutional position on this issue. In fact, It's our collective discust for the war that brought many of us together. Let's develop a common strategy for assuaging these concerns (and not invoke Godwin's Law in the process!)
Reality Check
"The Koran is replete with hate and violence."
Don't cast stones unless you are without sin. It is clear that the Holy Bible is replete with hate and violence as well. I'm not going to quote passages here, but we can start at the beginning:
Sodom and Gomorrah: God kills people that don't do what He told them to do (sounds loving, doesn't it?).
The Exodus: people decide to worship a golden calf (hey, it should be their choice, i.e., an autocratic Moses shouldn't deny them their right to choose [or God, for that matter], right?), but God gets huffy and kills a few more of His people.
I'll skip over the wars fought in the name of God in the Old Testament.
Now, the God in the New Testament is supposed to be a loving and forgiving God, but this really just give the whole notion of Judeo-Christian theology a specious air.
My whole point is this: Christians and Muslims are two different sides of the same coin. Once you realize this, I think some real progress between different faiths can be made. The post to which I'm responding is replete with hate and is nothing more than a form of Christian Extremism, which is really a movement that has elected Bush and allowed him to fight what many evangelicals feel is an Holy War. So, who's really committed more atrocities in the apparent name of Christianity (apparently because that's what Evangelicals have been duping their followers to believe that it's a Holy War)? Christian Extremism, or Muslim Extremism? At the end of the day, those are doublespeak words to keep sheep fighting amongst themselves for the benefit of their masters.
But what about stories like this:
By the way, I'm not a secret Tom "bomb-Iran" Tancredo troll. Very much the opposite. I'm a hard and fast RP supporter.
I believe that we must know the talking points that folks like Tancredo are spewing and meet this rhetorical challenge head-on. I've seen a mountain of common sense here on this forum post, and look forward to the rebuttal on this one:
There is no one as experienced in dealing with and understanding bad guys of all color and creed in and out of prison -- in Vietnam, in the United States and in Iraq as Don Bordenkircher. His document is non-political, short, powerful, unique and frightening.
Reality: Islamic extremists' goal is worldwide domination
I've just returned home after serving two years as national director of prison and jail operations in Iraq. During that time I resided within a mile of Sadar City, traveled countrywide to all correctional facilities, and coordinated activities with the U.S. military and the Department of Justice. I wore armor and carried weapons every day. I talked with many prisoners, most of whom spoke English as well as you and I do. They were of every skin color and looked just like you and me.
Since returning, it seems to me too many Ameri cans work desperately hard to avoid reality about our presence in Iraq and our enemy. I want to share my reality.
All known terrorist groups were in Iraq before the United States invaded to liberate the Iraqi people. They were harbored, trained and paid for by terrorist operations worldwide. Members of these groups told me this and I believe them.
Our enemy is the radical fundamentalist arm of the worldwide nation of Islam. They use many names but embrace the same mission. Their mission is worldwide domination by fundamentalist Islam. They will destroy or kill anyone who does not convert to their Islam. They enjoy most destroying Muslims who do not share their vision for world domination. Members of these groups told me this and I believe them.
There were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. The warheads were shipped to Syria and hidden in the Bekka Valley. The majority of casings are buried somewhere in the thousand miles of desert in Iraq. Prisoners told me this and I believe them.
There is not a civil war occurring in Iraq. There has always been sectarian distrust and acts of violence between Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds. Iran currently arms, trains, advises and monetarily supports both the Sunnis and Shiites, as well as foreign terrorists in Iraq. The Kurds are functioning very well and have a serious dislike of Iran. The mission of Iran in Iraq is to destabilize the country and, when America leaves, assume control without firing a sho t. Iranian, Sunni and Shiite prisoners who engaged in these activities told me this and I believe them.
America won the battle for Iraq in three weeks. Now we must, as requested by the Iraqi government, assist in their war against radical fundamentalist Islam and stabilize their government. When will U.S. troops and civilians come home from Iraq? My opinion, based on experience, is that our folks will come home when we withdraw our troops from Japan, Germany, France, Korea, Kosovo and Bosnia. Terrorist cells of radical fundamentalist Muslims are already embedded
in the suburbs of America, South America and Canada. They will attack the United States when instructed. As prisoners told me, "we will kill you, your wife and babies, burn your city, and condemn you to a torment in hell, until you convert and submit to the nation of Islam. So pray and prepare."
I believe them and that is my reality.
Prior to being "national director of prison and jail operations in Iraq" Don Bordenkircher was "senior advisor to the South Vietnam Corrections System" -- 1967 - 1972. He is also a former Marshall County sheriff of Moundsville, WV. + police chief and two-time warden of the state penitentiary at Moundsville. He is very experienced in dealing with and understanding bad guys.

We all owe some gratitude to Ron for his fight for freedom even where he is sometimes the only voice of reason in the whole room he still fights on; for our country and our constitution and the american way of life.

Agreed, and I did not want
Agreed, and I did not want to come across as attacking the post-er, It just really bothers me when people point to other groups like muslims or any other group be it jews, or any other race, or religion. The fact is we are all the same and for every stone cast at someone else we as a culture and even our religious backgrounds have all done bad things as well..
Muslims are being attacked and I'm sad to say it's generally accepted in this country because we associate Muslims with Al-Queda, or terrorism and it's this mentality that has to stop. Imagine if everyone associated Caucasians with the Nazi's it wouldn't be a very nice thing now would it?
I think the people who try to vilify Muslims or any other group are just as guilty as the people they are against. Sadly most people have the primitive "monkey tribe" mentality, and we need to look past out differences, Ron Paul is about peace and listening to people ALL people not just a certain demographic...

How to deal with non-radical Islam
The web site you referenced is one of those hate sites run by extremists with an agenda. Don't believe it- they cherry pick and distort information, assuming most people will not know the difference. Web sites like MEMRI, run by a Mossad chief, and Daniel Pipes Campus Watch are similar sites, designed to demonize Islam and Muslims.
If you choose certain passages from the Bible, particularly the Old Testamant, or the Torah, especially the parts that have not been translated into English (but are referenced in detail by Jewish scholars like Professor Norton Mezvinsky) you can find apparently hateful things in all religions, if one chooses to interpret it in that fashion.
I know many Muslims, and have traveled in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, and the Occupied Palestinian territories, and have met with leaders in these countries, and the leader of the Arab League, Amr Moussa. The vast majority of them are regular people like you and me, who want the same things in life that we want. There are a few extremists who use that religion as an excuse to do vile things, as there are some Jewish terrorists who use their religion as justification for atrocities, and Christians who do the same. We do not demonize these religions because of a few bad apples.
Many Muslim friends are natural supporters of Ron Paul- they like his message of non-intervention, trading in peace and friendship with all nations, removing our troops from all over the world, and ending the American empire. Since there are 6 million American Muslims, this is a large constituency we want to welcome, in my opinion.
I can point to just as many
I can point to just as many stories, and wars in the history of Christianity as well. Do you work for Tom Trancado?????
The fact of the matter is ALL Organized religions have incited wars and slaughters of people. I think it is important to point out the Christians, Jews, and Muslims worship the SAME God!!!!!!!
Before you decide to point to the evils of Muslims why don't you look at our own president who calls himself a Christian and says "GOD told him to go to war".. That is crazier than anything I've ever seen a Muslim do....
How many innocent dead people from sanctions and "collateral damage?"

Non Radical Muslims
I have lived in Islamic countries: 17 months in Morocco and 11 in Iraq. I also visited Kuwate and Qatar. Most of the Muslims are just like we are. They are friendly, and as a rule, better educated than most Americans. They have sattelite TV, cell phones and they are on the Internet.
It is the propaganda spewing out of the TV and magazines that is demonizing Muslims as violent and anti-American. There are small radical groups, but they were content to kill each other until our politicians got us involved in their wars. Remember, it is politicians who start wars. They start them for their benefit, not ours. Sometimes these politicians are disguised as religious leaders. Their goal is the same: POWER.
Politicians are the greatest generators of hatred. That's how they control people. In Nazi Germany, the Jews were demonized. Today, the Neo Cons are demonizing Muslims.
As I said, there are radical terrorist groups, but don't assume that the majority fall into this category. In Norther Ireland, there were Catholics and Protestant killing each other, but they were a small minority. Most people just want the same thing we want.

Are you sure you wouldn't be more comfortable supporting Guiliani or Tancredo?
"How would non-intervention keep religiously motivated Muslims with enough resources from detonating simultaneous nuclear bombs all across the US?"
What about religiously motivated Christians like GWB mass murdering Iraqis? Is this more noble than a Muslim doing the killing. I am a Christian who loves peace and fellowship. Just like there are good and bad Christians, there are good and bad Muslims. Bombing Muslims and labelling them as evil only creates more hatred. If you cannot understand cause and effect then you might as well simmer in your hatred and pain. Do the research and you will discover that occupation and aggression motivates terrorism. It is people like you who have enabled others to label Christians as backward. To the rest of the world words like yours sound exactly like those ignorant passages from the Koran. Peace out.

I'm with you guys, really!
I think we really need to discuss this without calling names or thinking the worst! Seriously folks, let's have a rational and intellectual discussion. Here's another website that discusses this:
http://www.humanists.net/alisina/
"Islam is a religion of peace". Or is it? This is what our politically correct politicians keep telling us. But what is politically correct is not necessarily correct. The truth is that Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a religion of hate, of terror and of war.
My goal is to come to terms with these thoughs and develop
strategies for understanding and dealing with this in a manner consistent with the Ron Paul philosophy.
COMMON MAN GIVE IT A BREAK
BEFORE THE 67 WAR MUSLIMS WHERE WALKING AROUND IN MINI SKIRTS AND WESTERN SUITS. EVER READ THE TALMUD? I HAVE. SOME CRAZY SHIT IN THERE TO. KILL GENTILES. SODOMY THIS AND THAT. Yes
I coach high school football in the Bay Area and there are a number of Muslim-Americans on our team. They and their families are some of the nicest, most kind hearted, hard working, humble and gracious folks I have ever met.
You can not paint a picture of an entire religion with a broad brush and you do not help to eliminate the militant elements by "going on offense" with guns.
You do go on offense with love and hope.
Meanwhile, you do everything in your power to DEFEND against aggression.

idolatry
"Make war on them until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme." (Koran 8:37)
Frankly it's not a bad idea to give up American Idolatry. The 2nd commandment warns us of 4 generations of debt for worshiping graven images... and if you think idolatry is praying to statues then you need to think about it a lot more.
also it's quite easy to quote selections of any text to paint whatever picture you want. The Muslim faith is indistinguishable from Christianity as far as this Jew is concerned.
The best thing we can do is
The best thing we can do is stop converting moderate Muslims to radical violent Muslims. We need to get our troops out of the Middle East! If Muslim armies stepped on US soil I sure would turn into a radical violent Agnostic.
To follow the radicalization arguement (christian usa)
Christ said,
'I come not to bring peace, but the sword'....'
How is that for an out of context quote...
terrorism ratio problem
But how do we come to terms with the 1,000 to 1 terroism ratio that is practiced by Muslims in the name of Allah? From what I've read (in the above referenced website), these guys are motivated out of jihad - not necessarily occupation. How do we address this? It's a serious topic that got us (at least on the surface) into war with all the Muslim's in the world. How do we get around that? Leaving them alone in different parts of the world (most recently Algeria) is a problem, no?
Nuclear bombs are too
Nuclear bombs are too expensive and difficult to acquire for many states, let alone a band of Muslim Jihadists. The only way they could get enough money for a nuke is if the US and other nations hook them up with some cash, like we did with our friend Osama in Afghanistan. Also, suicidal terrorists don't tend to live very long. Just wait a few years and they will kill themselves off. Non-interventionism would remove their motivation to target the USA in particular, so we need not worry as much about replacements. And I believe that secularization is on the rise and will someday overtake even the most religiously conservative parts of the world. If this is true, religiously motivated terrorists won't be an issue in the not-so-distant future anyway. Non-interventionism would speed up this process by letting our evil, secular culture more quickly penetrate these "backwards" regions.
Something similar happened with the Kharijites, a branch of Muslims who differentiated themselves from the rest of the Muslims--those who would go on to follow Sunni and Shia Islam--just a few years after the Prophet died. They didn't like like how their leaders arbitrated a dispute, and so they left. The Kharijites were the puritanical religious extremists of their day. They had a policy of killing off sinners, and they seemed to have considered just about everyone to be a sinner so they were frequently at war. But who has ever heard of the Kharijites? Not very many of us, because it did not take long for them to die off. On the bright side, the few that remained became known for their strong piety and scholarly efforts. Perhaps they can be a good model for what will happen to the good intentioned (in their minds) religious extremists of our day.
