Endorsement from Chuck Hagel

Chuck Hagel is a well respected GOP senator who has been very critical of the war and has opposed the surge.

He has said things like:

  • "To question your government is not unpatriotic — to not question your government is unpatriotic."
  • "I took an oath of office to the Constitution, I didn't take an oath of office to my party or my president."

Would it be worth it for supporters of Ron Paul to contact him and try to get an endorsement from him?

I think I read he is a member of the CFR. Am I correct on this?

Is that really such a big issue? Who isn't a member of the CFR these days?
