Found a flag

Anytime I hear or read anybody tell me that they have "the only way" I have an eyeroll at the ready for them. But then I read this:

http://www.ruleoflawrevolution.com/resources/paradigm-shifts/

and found it fascinating. I really liked "putting all your eggs in one basket" because that type of real state competition is something I'd really like to see.

Overall, I thought it was pretty great but I return to the home page where they have two "gets". Get people to do this and get politicians to do that. From all political perspectives. Well there's the tough part all right.

My honest opinion is that the movement is trying ALL solutions at ALL times. Initiatives are picked up and dropped, initiatives that don't make it at one time will take fire at another. What "we" decide to collectively support (purely through the actions of distinct individuals of course) involves factors such as logic, knowledge, things we happen to think are cool at the moment or just seem really crazy, whatever RP says and however tired we are from last week.

Getting all people behind freedom is always a great goal and it's been tried again and again. Maybe this is the one that will win. Guess we'll see.

Oyate, thanks for the compliment on the paradigm shifts.

Couple of questions for you.

You wrote:

Did I really say that somewhere? I searched my site and couldn't find any such reference. So if you remember where you saw me saying that, please let me know because that is not the message I intend to convey.

Also, you wrote:

The two "gets" on the home page concern voters, and not politicians. They are:

2. Get millions of voters to sign a Voter’s Pledge by which they refuse to vote for any candidate who has not taken the candidate’s pledge mentioned above.
3. Get those voters who sign the pledge to influence their friends and co-workers to sign it, too. No more writing letters to hardened politicians in Washington. Now the focus is right where people can be the most comfortable and effective–right at home!

You talk about it being hard to get people "from all political perspectives" to do this. Well, that's the challenge---to CHANGE their perspectives. The goal here is a massive paradigm shift, where party and left/right give way as the measuring stick of politics to the question of whether government is exceeding its lawful powers or not. In short, the ROLR is an attempt to re-frame the entire political argument in light of law, as opposed to public opinion, tradition, or partisan agenda.

Yes, that's a tall order, and yet it is exactly the kind of thing that would succeed with enough support because it is patently NON-partisan in the first place. When government breaks the law, it is patently unfair to everyone (except for the cheaters in government and their corporate darlings who benefit from the lawlessness). (And to them, it is overly fair, which is not fairness at all.)

ROLR, though simple in concept, presents such a huge paradigm shift that it's obviously going to take some time to catch on. It's interesting to me that it's currently more popular amongst candidates than amongst voters! But this stands to reason as the candidates are of the "leader type", and are more apt to have "done the math" already. I look forward to seeing more and more candidates exercise their leadership skills in influencing voters to sign the Voter's Pledge.

Again, this is a simple shift of thinking, but hard for many to make as it completely undermines everything they've heard all their lives about how they should vote.

I'd be very interested to know how many people might honestly answer "no" to any of the questions posed on this page: http://www.ruleoflawrevolution.com/voters/is-the-voters-pled...

"...ALL solutions at ALL times."

Yes, the marketplace of ideas free and untrammeled.

Reminds me of the

"Contract with America" the Republicans had, ugh!
They can promise anything but will they honor it?

"We can see with our eyes, hear with our ears and feel with our touch, but we understand with our hearts."

Quilting, What the ROLR does is to...

ask for the pledge before the election, putting the candidate in the position of CAMPAIGNING ON THE PLEDGE. While this does not preclude lying (as in Bush 41's "Read my lips: no new taxes!" lie), it certainly does set them up for a big fall.

One major difference between ROLR and the "Contract with America" is that ROLR is not party-sponsored or party-driven. There's no puppet master controlling or enticing candidates to sign the ROLR pledges and promising to grant or withhold financial support depending on whether they sign it or not.

Chances are, therefore, that those signing the ROLR pledges are more likely doing it sincerely, and not for ulterior motives.

In the event that any DID sign insincerely, then the adage comes into play: "fool me once..." After that, they will be listed in perpetuity as one having violated the pledge, and all the ROLR Voters are pledged never to vote for them again.

ROLR is by no means foolproof. But it is already an obvious gathering spot for a one-issue philosophical movement that is fundamental to so many of today's urgent

Yes because a man with no honor (Newt) was proposing it.

It`s like the devil offering you a shortcut to Heaven.
I agree this could be another "shortcut" in order to win elections.

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.
