Censorship of Biblical expression

Fundamentalist interpretations of the Bible, especially as they relate to "family values" and sexual behavior must be pretty subversive stuff, if the modern State is willing to go to such extreme lengths to suppress them.

Maybe it might give cause to wonder why a citizen holding Biblical--or any other opinions--is any of the government's business. It may also give people cause to wonder how the official positions on this issue relate to civil and political freedom generally. Is it worthy of notice here that the State is assuring, if not enforcing, increased sexual freedom, especially for deviant practices, while they are viciously clamping down on every other expression of personal or economic liberty??

Food for thought!

People shouldn't be arrested for being stupid...

or for quoting the bible, as anyone logical can tell, it's full of all sorts of nonsense...

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:26

it's awesome when people take

it's awesome when people take a conveniently peculiar translation of a bible excerpt and take it completely out of context in order to discredit the message.

Jesus spoke that at a time

Jesus spoke that at a time when just being associated with Him would cause your own mother, father, family and friends to sell you out to the highest bidder. Today, telling the truth in any controversial situation still bears that same risk. In order to be a champion for what is righteous and true, you have to withstand the worldly consequences and accept that your reward will come from God, not from all the relationships and possessions that we as humans hold so dearly in our hearts. When speaking the truth, embarrassment, isolation and persecution are to be expected. Being fearful of what you may lose only means you are not ready to fully devote your life to the task at hand. That is just my honest interpretation of it.

thank you for using

thank you for using historical context in your interpretation of that quote! so many times people (even other Christians) leave out contextual evidence when interpreting scripture and they end up coming to some strange conclusions about what is really being said.
