Ron Paul, de facto frontrunner
Submitted by Jane Aitken on Thu, 12/13/2007 - 18:31"Something is very strange about the GOP presidential race. Mike Huckabee, kissed and blessed by the treasonous Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is in Iowa begging with a new slogan: Tanks for Huck. According to reports, Brother Huckabee has a skimpy $650,000 in the till and needs gas money to campaign."
Ever since the Iowa strawpoll I have been saying that there is something fishy about the sudden 'surge' of a certain candidate who likely only has $500K to his name. Apparently I was off by only $150K! The fundraising numbers do not support the supposed jump in polling.
Devvy Kidd agrees. Read her wonderful article in its entirety to get the big picture.

I think it's a little of both...
There probably is some "conspiratorial" component to this. That seems very plausible to me. Just remember the iron rule: 90% of everything in the world is bullsh*t.
However I think the evangelicals were casting around for a while, thinking they had to go with Giuliani or Romney, not really being happy with either, and now they realize they have a Baptist minister running, so they've jumped on him. I saw it on a homeschool list I'm on - Ron Paul clearly is better for homeschoolers but the heavy Christians like Huck. Some anyway.
Gun owners are also in the same boat; they were not happy with any of the supposed front-runners. They Huck comes up and GOA calls him solid, so they jump on board too. At least the more neocon of them do. (GOA likes Ron Paul too by the way.)
I have never had one person mention Hucklbee's name to me
I have never had one person mention Hucklbee's name to me in conjunction with the election. I don't think anyone knows about him, except for maybe some backward sheep in Iowa and Arkansas.
That is what I think of the "polls".

I KNEW HUCKABEE WOULD BE ANNOINTED WEEKS AGO
Does anyone remember that some big wig in the bush administration made a statement that all the Republicans looked bad except Huckabee, but people wouldn't vote for him because his name was goofy?
Well at that time Huckabee was a non factor. Shortly thereafer, miracles (from God or the cult of Bush?) happened for the Huckster in the "scientific" polls.
Yes, I do believe in the possiblity of a conspiracy here. Whatever the bushies do, its guaranteed to be stupid and supporting the Huckster aint too bright. So the conspiracies of the mental midgets goes on. My only hope to see an end to this hair brained political establishment is Ron Paul.
Me too
a few weeks ago I noticed that Huckabee wasn't being attacked at all. They just let him go. Then, he visits the CFR and 2 days later, his polls are at 29% yet he has no fundraising and no grass roots. It's all fishy.

polls don't matter
I worked on Kucinich's campaign in 2004 and in caucus states, the county and local chairs have a lot of sway and are very good at getting people to show up and caucus for his/her favorite. That's why Kerry did so well-- the established party liked Kerry and acted like an undertow to the Dean effort.
That whole experience was sobering since I realized that change is really hard since it takes a tsunamil of support to overcome the established bureaucracy.
After the 2008 elections are over, Paulites will have to decide if they want to become part of the "established bureaucracy," or not; i.e. in the unlikely event that Ron Paul isn't the next President, Paulites will ask themselves: should I become part of "the system" to ensure "inside support" during the next election.
However, I'm more optimistic than ever that Ron Paul will win since the US AirForce, I'm sure, is drooling over the thought of adding "Air Blimp One" to their fleet!
Just curious..
How did you see the error of your ways in supporting someone like Kucinich who is for socialism, for someone like Paul, who is diametrically opposed to it?
Media and Poll Irrelevancy
Ron Paul and the internet has rendered the main stream media, and the polls with which they attempt to pontificate the public, totally irrelevant. I can't wait for the Iowa caucases to declare Ron Paul the winner. The news media pundits will have egg all over their face and I for one will be asking them questions like, How could you have been so wrong? and Are you guys as incompetent as George Bush? LOL
Iowa GOP is CORRUPT!
As are some members of the RP Meetup groups in Iowa, I think there are some GOP plants in the Meetups that are doing their best to undermine RP and his supporters! The head of the Meetup group in Iowa doesn't want to have anything to do with the Watch the Vote initiative to be sure that the votes are RECORDED and REPORTED accurately!
Now why wouldn't they (RP Meetup group) be concerned about a repeat of the Iowa Straw Poll in August when Ted Spore and the GOP tried to have the RP volunteers ARRESTED for handing out exit polls on STATE Fairground property? The GOP were feeling very threatened that people would find out the TRUTH about them stuffing the ballots with FAKE Huckabee votes(WHERE is all Huckabee's supporters and money then?)! The RP supporters and volunteers had gotten permission from the Campus Police the day before the event to hand out exit polls and then the Campus Police CAVED when confronted by Ted Spore of the Iowa GOP! It scared away several volunteers who didn't want to risk being arrested, but no one was!
I personally KNOW people who were THERE and experienced this event, so this is NOT a conspiracy! We MUST be diligent and hold them all accountable! They STOLE Ron Paul's votes at the Straw Poll and they WILL try and do it again in the Caucus!

Is this right?
Here's what we've been speculating lately.
The Old Media wants a Democrat to win. The obvious strategy is to pick a Republican with a "glass jaw" (as my brother calls it), and attempt to catapult him through the primaries. Then, that accomplished, start throwing all the dirt around, and Republican candidate X is history, with an easy Dem win for the general elections.
Of course, the candidate we all love to hate these days has the glass jaw par excellence. Just think of all the things he has said and done that would be absolute laughing stock for the world at large once the primaries are over. Doesn't believe in evolution, the pardon issue as governor, the AIDS quarantine, the list goes on and on. Normally, the "MSM" would be all over this, but somehow, they now really, really like the way he is skyrocketing in the polls...
Get focused.
Personally I am a little tired of hearing so much about Huckabee. This is a forum about Ron Paul. Let's focus on Ron and what we need to be doing.
That's Right! Enough of Fvckabee!
R3VOLUTION - Secret Crowds
Just pulled the Huckabee data from RPG...
Earlier today, I pulled the raw Huckabee fundraising data from the ronpaulgraphs website (what he uses to track Huck versus US).
And ran some analyses on them (Benford's, etc)... and I gotta tell you folks, something's very fishy -- when real-life numbers disobey that "law" its normally taken as a pretty solid sign of fraud.
In addition, the incremental changes in dollars & cents do NOT make sense. A preliminary comparison with the raw data from the RP data show significant difference.
Wondering if anyone else with a penchant for data analysis would care to take a look. (Raw data is available from bottom of RonPaulGraphs.com webpages.)
It is fishy about The Huckster
I watched that debate where his support took off. It was as if he was given the questions in advance and had his prepared answers. The answers were far too smooth and polished. I agree he is the new annointed one by the CFR.
This is all very nice, but
This is all very nice, but it's just a commentary... an opinion piece. Is anyone able to tell fact from fiction on the internet anyway?

Check the date of Huck's appearance AT THE CFR. It is not base don speculation that he went to speak to them, it is PUBLISHED.

CFR
Try www.cfr.org and while your there do a search for spp (Security & Prosperity Partneship) that's the North American Union. For more on the North American Union try www.ssp.gov. Don't know if that site is still there, haven't been there in awhile. You also might be interested in www.stopspp.com. Sorry matt0311, I know you didn't mention anything about spp or the North American Union in your comment but any time the cfr comes up, I get pissed. Robert Pastor and the cfr are the ones who came up with this treason.

Hello Crunchy, google "America: Freedom to Fascism" video and watch this ~2 hr documentary by Aaron Russo. You will understand what CFR is and Federal Reserve, Income Tax law and some very interesting history about money, monetary policy, etc, etc.
Welcome to the club of tinfoil heads and ron-bots!
Aaron Russo interview.
He had some amazing things to say and it makes a lot more sense than what I am hearing from the so called MSM.

What a web we weave. I think people do put their money where their mouth is-unlike another poster. But I never know what is true any more. I've seen several things on dailypaul that just are not true. Like NRA and Glenn Beck, for example. Now when I read something, I don't get all fired up, I just keep plodding along and doing the job as well as I can. I have sticky notes now that I am going to stick to everything, everywhere, calling Iowa, in a meetup, wrote those letters to Iowa (395 of them), bugging all my family and friends. I don't see other candidates doing this. What's up with that?
Gotta do this, the time is now.

Well, maybe you don't know which army is his!! Funny. No, I don't think they noticed. A tank is a tank--except to you. Good work.
This Tea Party weekend
Huckabee is getting about as much negative media as he is positive media these days; much of the negative stuff is the result of his own statements.
What Huck does not have is a great deal of money to do advertising beyond the first couple of states. Unless he does extremely well early,
he cannot buy his way to better finishes in later primaries.
Ron Paul has already started to reserve air time for ads through Super Tuesday. He'll have a boatload more by Monday morning.
There is no indication Huck has anywhere near the number of boots on the ground in NH that Ron Paul has. (Jane can comment on this.) Ron Paul's out of state support will only grow as the primary approaches.
I plan to arrive in NH early on New Year's Eve; one of at least 3 out
of the Allentown, PA, Meetup group who will be in NH in the week
prior to the Jan. 8 primary.
Join us if you can!
Ken's right..
While I was travelling around NH this summer in the 90 degree heat hauling my canopy and table full of materials, I saw no workers, no organization, no signs and no life for Huckabee. This sudden 'surge' in the media hasn't gotten him any money either. I had guessed he had in the till about $500K but I'm sure Devvy looked it up so as to be accurate. She came up with $650K. Still not enough to compete...so I think Huckabee is not the one to worry about.
I will say that I've gotten the MOST mailings and the MOST phone calls from Ron Paul... 5 phone calls and 6 full color high quality brochures. The TV and radio ads are constant, so I think the campaign has the state well covered. After all, we are a small state.
Oh and having said that, I will give MUCH credit to the OLFOD people who came here likely not sure of what they would do, but they've dedicated themselves to volunteering for the campaign and are working hard canvassing and helping in the office every day. A campaign is only as good as the volunteers who are willing to work. They are much appreciated. I wish I'd had them with me this summer -- we could have covered even more ground.
Intrade
Has Ron Paul overtaken Huckabee and Giuliani at Intrade in the odds of winning in New Hampshire?
Rep.NH.Huckabee: bid 5.5, ask 15.9, last 7.5
Rep.NH.Giuliani: bid 6.1, ask 13.8, last 7.0
There are no odds specifically for Paul, but Rep.NH.Field shot up dramatically today:
bid 18.0, ask 19.9, last 18.0
Perhaps they did a survey
and found that Paul supporters also like Huckabee to a certain degree. So if Huckabee surges, they figure they can siphon support from Paul. I suspect that Paul and Huckabee enjoy the most support from traditional Christians.
Why would the CFR appear to endorse Huckabee when we know that Giuliano is essentially their man? Are they rats deserting the Giuliano ship and searching for safe harbor? Huckabee probably doesn't have the skeletons in his closet that Giuliano has.
This race is just fascinating.

CFR support
CFR support is likely more due to wanting to control the race not get Huckbee the nomination. After all, the dark horse must be chosen by them as well.
They see that the masses are unsatisfied with RG and MR and the other two not worthy of mention, so they have to shore up someone else and make sure he in their control. It's not about picking one that would be acceptable to them, it's about controlling everyone and who will get the attention thanks to them. This is to take attention away from Paul more than anything else.
Right after Iowa I suspected something was fishy. A few pundits on TV have sort of mumbled this as an afterthought while talking about the 'surge', as if their own brain told them something wasn't right....you know....but he has no money?
STOOOOOOOOOOOOP!
What in the name of GOD is a CFR? I keep hearing CFR this and CFR that, as if all here except me knows what it is. All I know is that during my trip last week from FL to NY it was all RP and upstate NY it is all RP.
every democrat and
every democrat and republican running is a member, Except Kucinich, Gravel, and of course Ron Paul!!!!
CFR=Council on Foreign Relations
It's just one of Rockefeller-founded front groups that are made up of government and media elitists and bankers who like to think they are better at running things. They choose the president, they run the media, they have 'plans' for the world, regardless of what the PEOPLE want.
Something fishy going on...
Well, its got to be the CFR. They are throwing up Huckabee to see if he'll pull RP supporters. He might pull a few, but nothing of value. Most RP supporters are fully wide awake and know what is going on. They aren't fooled by it. Its just a big game to CFR. I can see them now all grouped together in dimly lit rooms, token on cigars, patting each other on the back, or joking with each other with how this whole thing is panning out. It's all a game to them. Well guess what, we know how to play the game and we can kick their fat rearends all the way to the detention centers. Remember, the good guys always win. We are winners. Remember, winners never quit and quitters never win! WE are not going to quit!
Your picture is 1940s
I'm sure for the most part, they don't sit around smoking cigars. If you saw most of it in operation, it would look terribly boring and not conspiratorial at all -- just a bunch of clever influential people congratulating and impressing each other at conferences with the lesser ones writing papers for their journal. Most do what they do because it's good for their careers. A phone call here or there and the prestige of membership is all they appear to need to advance their slow motion agenda. There might be more to it at the inner circles.
Campaign Support
People don't always put their money where their mouths are.
The real question is will people put their votes where their mouths are?
the problem with those numbers...
...is Huckster is conning our fellow Americans out of about $100k a day lately. Is he spending it all?? That would be great news. If not then I think the reports of him being broke must be erroneous. I'd love to know, but don't.
In any case, our job remains the same: get the word out to the Christians and other Republicans ASAP. They need to find out about the RPR and be made welcome in it.
