The Lexington Herald just endorsed Rand Paul for Senate!

"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive," Thomas Jefferson once opined.

Perhaps the same can be said of political parties. Perhaps they, too, need to undergo an uprising from time to time. Kentucky Republicans can make this one of those times by picking Rand Paul as their U.S. Senate nominee.

Pro Grayson Lexington Herald article

Is DeMint angling to replace McConnell as GOP leader?

"Grayson has more cross-party appeal than Paul and more experience at handling campaign tests."

"A loss at either juncture would leave McConnell politically weakened, and a loss in the fall might leave him fatally weakened in regard to retaining his leadership position. Small wonder then that he took the rare step of intervening in a Republican primary in hopes of rescuing the better fall candidate."

His campaign really slammed the endorsement.

" Rand attacked by Herald Leader
Published on 09 May 2010 by David Adams in General News
The Lexington Herald Leader’s editorial board’s sly left-handed endorsement of Rand Paul on Sunday won’t fool many people. Saying Rand represents “barbarians at the gate” and that his ideas are “steeped in theory, but untested by reality” both maligns many millions of conservative Americans who disagree with the left-wing point of view and ignores centuries of history and common sense about the fallacy of taxing and borrowing our way to prosperity. Kentuckians know that wild, wasteful spending by professional politicians has brought our nation to the brink of disaster. Turning away from that isn’t ivory tower theorizing, it is the focal point of a Tea Party movement gathering steam to save our nation from a cabal of reckless, feckless politicians.

Rand supports balanced budgets, term limits and strong national defense. He holds substantial leads in all independent polling of likely Republican voters. Election day is May 18."

Not sure I'd have said that. The blogs that like him are all quoting it as if it were good news.

Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesnt want to hear -RonPaul

Donate To Rand!

but not to ANY party. My belief since April 21, 2006. Know your INDIVIDUAL representative. The Liberty Generation... Love It, Live It!

That is great advice.

Wise Words

Why donate to some central authority like the RNC giving them the power to dole out money to favored establishment candidates?

The title of the article is the selling point here...

Concerned voters will walk away with a "takehome" point after reading this article and nothing else and that's a good thing. The article is wishy washy at best and very loose on credible facts at worse. When one does his/her research on Rand/Greyson there is a vast difference between the two! After reading the article the headline is what's remembered on election day, "Rand Paul best choice to put republican party on new path in Kentucky."

Go Rand Go!!!!!

This is a quasi hit-piece, begrudgingly supportive story.

They are doing the right thing, but they are not happy about Rand Paul....so be it.

Whatever works to get Rand Paul elected is all right with me.

It is a

It is a better-than-halfway-good endorsement. May sway a few.
