This is not about bailing out the Greek government or Greek pensioners. It is about making sure that the Greeks do not default on their national debt but continue to transfer wealth from the people of Greece to the same bondholders who benefit from US bail-outs.

So very true. If they can create that much money over the weekend then it's the perfect example of what the true ultimate value of paper money is.

And chances are that the printing presses probably had nothing at all to do with this. All that money was likely created over a period of minutes, on a computer keyboard.

Actually, I think everyone will suffer due to their policies of printing money like no tomorrow.

Anyone who buys pretty much anything will eventually be paying more due to these actions. This is because the value of the dollar will be decreasing due to the resulting inflation of our money supply.

On top of that, anyone who has saved money will be hurt as well, since all those dollars that they saved will be devalued.

The only people who really benefit, even if only temporarily, are those who are in debt. This inflation enables debtors to repay debts with lesser valued money.

So, ultimately, it's not really the tax payers who will suffer but everyone. Even the 90 year-old people living on less than $1000 per month... imagine how shocked they will be when the price of everything goes through the roof while their "fixed" income does not increase at anywhere near the same rate. The standard of living is gonna go way down if the Fed does too much of this money creation... who knows, it might be inevitable and unavoidable at this point.
