Donors may be just a fraction of actual voters...
Submitted by missdavenport on Thu, 12/13/2007 - 22:54I do not think that the number of donors comes close to the actual number of Ron Paul supporters across the country.
Some examples -
My sister and I donated - but under one credit card, i.e., only in her name. So, you have two voters, one donor. (I'm paying her for my share. Neither one of us can afford maxing out right now.)
My girlfriend and her husband - no Internet in the house. They live in an upscale condo and just don't want the "mess" in the house. She is a manager and too busy to surf; he has a career that takes him on the road so he does not spend time on the Internet either. I do not know if they have donated, I do not think so, but I do know that both will vote RP.
Lots of us have friends who recruit aunts, uncles, grandparents to support RP. Probably a lot more of them will vote, than will necessarily donate to the campaign. (At least, I hope so.)
There must be tons of similar examples out there, what have you heard, what do you think?

This is so true
I must have 20 friends and family that will be voting for Ron Paul, but have not donated. Believe me I've tried to convince them to do it. Over half don't even have the internet or refuse to use a credit card online, but won't be bothered to send a check by mail. The other half just don't have the funds to donate, even $5. They are all registered and we are all going to vote together, and they Love RP. They all sport bumperstickers on their rigs, so its not like they will flip to another candidate. It is a sad state of affairs when 10 people out of 20 feel they can't afford even $5 to donate. and the other 10 are too apathetic to donate, but not to vote. Our country is dying, we need Ron Paul to revive it.
"7 percent of supporters
"7 percent of supporters donate to campaigns with time/money." That's the figure my father told me. He is a long time Democrat precinct man.
Wow!
If 7% donated last time, what will 7% represent this time when we double 4.3 million on December 16th? Someone do the math! Quick! 38,000 donors last time on Nov. 5th. If that doubles? 76,000? 76,000 is 7% of what? I'm too tired to do the math..
Wow - even better! as I try to amble off and hit the hay...DP is
addicting all right.

Thanks for all the feedback - & do you all know not to wear RP
...gear when you vote? It is illegal I guess.
I must turn in now but this should be the subject of another post or even front page - because if voters turn up in RP shirts and then get turned away ...well that wouldn't be so good.
Please discuss if you so desire - I will try to research more tomorrow.
'Night all and thank you for helping me out in my informal survey. You guys are great!

You are SO Right!!
I can attest to what you have stated.
I have almost a whole Meetup Group here in Idaho who's not signed up on the web that will donate BIG $$ and vote. Most are not computer savvy, they don't want to learn, they are older or simply do not have time.
These people are strong supporters in every way. They talk to friends and family both local and in other states, convincing them that they, too, will benefit from Dr. Paul as President.
OH YES, there are MANY more supporters and donors than shows up in the polls and in the usual numbers taken by MSM.

Unregistered Voters are not in the Polls
Supporters who aren't Registered are windbags and worth less than nothing. Get your freinds to Register Tomorrow and make sure they vote in the primary.
Non-Registered people are irrelevant.

please ask your friends to register

If they're not registered to vote, they can't vote!...
Can they?!
my parents!
i have convinced them to support Ron Paul but I'm fairly certain they haven't donated yet. Add two!
Excellent! I am liking my little survey here...OM can eat dirt!!

Yes, this is absolutely true.
Most of the people in our (fairly small) meetup group did not donate on Nov. 5th (pinched on funds or whatever). I'm hoping they'll donate on the 16th though. My dad, brother, sister and I all donated last time, but a couple other voting members of the family still did not.
And I know of a ton more people in my area who didn't even know about Ron Paul until later last month. It's the snowball effect at work.
I know, Ron Paul snowballs just in time for Christmas!! No make

lol I had to double take for a second....hmm I wonder why guys don't call there male friends boyfriend...probably because we are all homophobic oh well lol
I have not yet donated...
But I will on the 15th and the 16th.
I run a business that spans 4 counties in Michigan and have received Ron Pauls newsletter now for 4 years.
I engage hundreds (sometimes more) of people each week. 4 months ago I would run into about 1 person in a week that actually knew or heard of Ron Paul, Now it's about 3 people in 40 in a day (I'm Active), to my knowledge not 1 has yet donated but insist that they are absolutely committed to vote for him, In fact, many have become downright fanatical about this campagn and the man Ron Paul.
There you have it! The message is spreading, The people are comming around! WE WILL WIN!! I want everyone to donate something... anything on Dec 16th. add to the growing list of new and repeat donors. This is just as (if not more) important than the amount raised. Thank you.
It Goes Like This
From largest to smallest:
People who say they'll vote for someone if you ask them
People who will actually vote
People who will actually ask others to vote as well
People who will put a sign in their yard or sticker their car if you give them one, and vote
People who will make calls or hold signs/People who will order materials and vote
People who will donate outright and vote
That's why the polls are wrong; they try to correct for the fact that people say they'll vote for someone but not actually do it, by only surveying "most likely voters."
Ron Paul voters are "most likely" to vote. That's proven by the rate at which they donate: more donors than most of the other candidates have.

Donations
Christmas a week away may be rough on donations. My husband and I are donating as presents to each other, though.
More voters than donors ....
....is true in almost every election, at almost every level.
Donors are much more likely to vote than non-donors, because donors have an investment to protect, that is, having donated, they have both a reason and an incentive to vote to help their candidate win.
One of the powerful things about Ron Paul's fundraising success this quarter is that there are already 134,000 people who have donated.
Few (less than 5%) have maxed out, so the upside potential for the Tea
Party this Sunday, the New Year's Eve 'finish the quarter/year strong'
money bomb, and the flow of donations after Iowa and NH is tremendous.
It all depends on what all of us do between now and then.
8 on this end
I know eight on this end that are going to vote for Ron Paul , but will not contribute. They never have contributed. I never did either until this election for R.P.

Yes, I thought so...someone made a comment on another post (can't remember exactly - maybe it was a troll?) alluding that only about 100some thousand RP voters existed!!
I started to run the numbers in my head, figuring the lower percentage of donors to voters, and thought, no way, this idea is way off. There are at least a couple-few million supporters of RP. Maybe more.
I talk to everyone I can think of (I have like zero free time/over worked) whenever I go out/on phone. And the people now who have "not heard" of RP are also likely never to have heard of Hucklebee or Tancredo either.

please try to get Every supporter that you know
to donate even just $10. They will feel Ownership. This is crucial to our cause. Plus those additional small donations could just push us over the top. And next time the small donors will be ready!
Most RP supporters I know have not yet donated.
I'm the only Ron Paul supporter I know in person that has donated, and I didn't donate on the 5th of Nov. However a a few of my friends as well as myself will be donating on the 16th. I still know some others who can't donate. They say people who donate usually are a minority. I had never donated to a candidate or party until I found out about Dr. Paul.
Wow, interesting. Too bad we can't wear RP gear to vote coz
Wow, interesting. Too bad we can't wear RP gear to vote coz the tv cameras would for sure pick that up (I guess you can't have candidate paraphernalia within 200 yards (feet?) of a voting booth.)

I don't know but I did hear for sure that if you wear the gear will get turned away from voting place...I'm sure there's a place to validate this online but don't know it offhand.
