In Texas, an establishment owner has the right to refuse service without cause.

Crazy world...I don't think that anyone should be forced to serve anyone, but I don't believe people should refuse service to others based on something like race. That being said, if anyone who thinks I should be a slave asks me to serve them, I should be entitled to the right to say no.

So I would say, yes they have the right to refuse service to a KKK member, but not to a someone based on race, a white man for example.

Yes I believe people have the right to descriminate against you for your personal beliefs as they impact them, no I do not believe that people have the right to discriminate against you for race or privately maintained religion and the government should protect you from prejudice in those areas.

I don`t think it is ok to discriminate against Jews, Muslims or black people, but it is ok to choose not to affiliate with people who are discriminating against you or your community (KKK, jihadists or Israelies who believe you should kill all Palestinians...). How you or the state can make that determination is very personal and difficult to prove. For example, I think you shouldn`t discriminate against women, you should open the door and be a gentlemen, however do you owe any such traditional mannerism to a feminist? What if she is a lesbian feminist...who hates your guts?

Difficult questions, I think the law needs to be involved in extreme cases, but it is a question of morality. It is a free country so fraternity should be voluntary, not mandatory. However...you can't own a bar and serve one person and shoot the next for tresspassing. That doesn't make sense.

What person would insist on going to a diner where you are not welcome. The service will be bad, the food may be bad, you will be disrupted throughout the encounter, et. al.

The great unspoken part of this is that word gets out. (Cough, Internet!) Poor service, people stop coming. Racists attitude, you will be boycotted and go out of buisness. Running to the government to punish those you may not agree with is NOT the only option.

That is what Rand was trying to say, but he couldn't speak over the belligerent "Mad-Cow."

She even said get used to it, the media is going to harp on this. This was a zealot with an agenda, period. And she didn't even hide it. Postive coverage of a Tea Party canidate, forget it! And recycling the Tim Russert race crap... Not even origional.

Now to overlap their partisan agenda, the media focuses on Rand, rather than their Uber allly "Mad-Cow". Priceless.

But it doesn't matter, why? Because Kentucky will decide this election. NOT MSNBC!!! In case you haven't noticed, Obama and the liberal agenda aint popular in these parts. Liberal attacks actually help mainline Republicans with Paul.

So what if McConnell backtracks, Rand wasn't his guy to begin with, think he's impartial? The people don't like McConnell down there anyway! Believe me!

You believe in and stand up for Property Rights then NO!

It all comes down to property rights.

Discrimination is unfortunate but, allow the free market and good hearted/moral people decide on where they spend their money.

The Federal Government cannot protect 100% of all peoples feelings and thus the need to follow the amendments and articles held within the Constitution.

Unfortunately, Canadian property rights are not explicitly protect by our Charter and are meagerly protected by the Bill of Rights which many consider unenforceable since the adoption of the Constitution Act of 1982.
