Campaign in Crisis
Submitted by GabrielPage on Fri, 12/14/2007 - 04:25This point has been brought up before, but what the hell is the moronically run campaign doing with our money??!!?! Did anyone else see this Christmas ad, the healthcare ad, and the fact that they're paying Huckabee critics. This is the most unbelievable thing... I'm agast.
It's hard to beleive that some plant is not trying to sabotage the campaign, when they do things so wasteful or even damaging. The Huckabee crap is the only story Paul's getting coverage for in the MSM.
WHAT ABOUT ISSUES? As though there's not enough to talk about with along the lines of the debt, foreign policy, entitlement costs, weakening dollar, eroding civil liberties, small government, lower taxation and we get this shit. I'm livid.
I didn't think there was anything that could really dampen my enthusiasm, but this kind of garbage coming from the campaign itself is really depressing.

I would welcome Huckabee
To do the same, and send people to Iowa to tell the people THE TRUTH about Ron Paul. That is what Ron Paul is doing with Huckabee.

Easy everybody
Take it down a notch. I'm sure the campaign has stuff in the pipe. Yes, I would like to know what it is, but I 'm trusting RP. The man is a hell of a lot smarter and WISER than I am. My instinct tells me he is in control. Humbleness on his part doesnt mean WEAKNESS. His kindness is unheard of today. We arent used to it. He is setting the example for us to follow. Sounds alot like my other biblical hero.
I get what you're saying but...
when it all boils down....
whether you agree with the Official Campaign or not, do we have another choice?
This is it. Even if the campaign is sabotaging Dr. Paul or even if they are brilliantly planning something huge doesn't matter. We have NO OTHER OPTION!!! The money we donate will be worthless if he doesn't win anyway!
Just keep doing what you're doing, and when he wins we can sort out the traitors and deal with them then.
Once again, just my humble opinion.
30 second ads
Unless you pull GWHBush against dukakis, your 30 second ad time is to get name recognition out there. The ads have been fine for that. He's introducing himself, he's working on name recognition.
My take is that Dr. Paul has had a pretty basic strategy up til now -- stay the course, get the name out, spread the message, etc -- without realizing that it would ever catch fire the way it has. I truly believe that in the last month, they have come to realize that they actually have a real shot. They have tons of money, they have an irrefutable record, and they have a base... So now, they will go for it. They CAN turn this into a personal and actual RECORD debate. They realize that the tea party this weekend will put them in the $20 mil range for this quarter, and that all other candidates have a weakness that Dr. Paul does not -- integrity, honesty, and a record to prove his ideas. (I have a feeling that the copy-cat nature of the other candidates pissed him off when they started using his lines -- he now will expose them) The news media from the tea party, along with going on the offense -- Glen Beck, TRUTH ads about Hucklefuck, spending REAL money on this thing... the ball is in his court, and he Pwns the rest of these cats.
He is OVER the hump of name recognition, realizes he can win, and now will go for it. Those of you who say he is above negative ads and such don't know him. He has used negative advertising to win in the past. My take is that he hasn't so far for strategic reasons and also because he wasn't trying to win. The good Dr. hasn't won TEN terms in congress without knowing how to win an election... FYI the man is SPOTLESS with his record, and family, and the more he puts out silly family Christmas carols, the better... You've never seen it before, you may never see it again -- a real family, a real Christian, a real GOOD man.
I think its balls out after this weekend, and I think we have it. (I also think he wins california fyi... my home state)
Nice title
Have you ever worked a campaign before?
Could you paint any more negative pictures for the MSM media lurking in, than how you titled this subject? Way to market your product Gabe. With headlines like that I'm certainly glad you're not working the official campaign.
P.S Gabe, it's not "our" money. It's Ron Paul 2008's money. When you "donate" something you relinquish ownership to it.
I'm sure you could ask for a refund though.
It's the End of the Line for Ron Paul and his supporters

The Big Bang
Theirs supposed to be some sort of bombardment of advertising after the 16th. Supposedly an infomercial, too. And a commercial which will air nationally for the college bowl games.
One step at a time.
The ads are important, but the real message people see is all of us out on the streets taking an interest in Ron Paul. Going door to door, making signs and showing people that his support is real. These actions are a 100 times more important that T.V. ads. The ads are just to give television addicts a taste of what the Ron Paul movement is all about, it is up to us to go out and be seen, hand out Slim Jims and demonstrate the character of Ron Paul supporters. It is so important that we set a good example. As for how the money is spent, sure there will be mistakes, but we will have to move forward and take up the slack when necessary.

Campaign in Crisis? Really?
By campaign, I'm assuming you mean the official campaign. But, the official campaign isn't why Ron Paul is where he is today. Yes, the commercials may be less than inspiring to rabid Ron Paul fans... but, at least, there is something out there now being run in Iowa and New Hampshire.
And, I kinda like the fact that they're getting proactive on getting the truth out about Huckabee in Iowa.
Eventually, hopefully, they'll get a clue about putting out commercials with a more inspiring message. Hell, all they have to do is look at several dozen on YouTube. It ain't that hard.

TV Ads
Now hold on. I love the Christmass spot. Who else does that? It makes Dr. Paul seem like part of the family (the viewers family).
Do you think Giuliani could pull of a Christmas ad like that? Can you imagine, his kids throwing things at him for messing up their childhoods. Or his many wives could line up under the mistletoe or throw some hot cocoa at him.
I can imagine the Huckabee Christmass. His subsevieant wife brings him a new phone so he can comunicate with God. Illeagles would help decorate the tree. A few pardoned fellons would drop by to whish Huck a happy holiday. They could contimplate a new tax to make sure all the convicts and aliens have free Christmas trees.
The Paul Christmas add is perfect. Family values!!

Poli SCI 101
Y'all need to calm down. It's called politics my man, and even the RP caimpaign has to play the BS card every once in a while. Personally, I enjoyed the christmas ad. Who says "Merry Christmas" anymore? It's refreshing to see RP say it. This is important to trying to give a personality and character to Ron Paul for those who don't know who he is. And in order to beat MR Personality Mike Huckabee, its down right essential. We all know who RP is, but a lot of people don't.
Political Science 101! Elementary, My dear, elementary!
Their is NO WAY IN HELL that
Their is NO WAY IN HELL that HQ is that Stupid...something is up. I have heard about the "BIG SECRET" right after the money bomb on Dec 16th. If nothing happens after I donate all of my money on the 16th.....I will be pised...I really think something big is about to happen!! Have faith brothers...I feel the same way. This is an emotional Roller Coaster....But ya know what...I have never voted before in my life...and this is the first time I really care. I think you are with me?? Right??
Yep!!!
Agreed, they are cooking something. I highly doubt the "Just getting started" is all bark and no action.
Think back to right before they announced the 3rd quarter fundraising results... They built that up with a lot of hype. Something along the lines of "stay tuned for next week for a press release of significant importance." Theres no mistaking why they did it that way. They intentionally built up hype and excitement for maximum impact.
Remember, the other candidates BLEW a lot of their cash really early - and now look how they're falling in the polls. Look how FAST someone can climb, like huck. It's a sort of game to be played- and I think Ron Paul is not flying blind.
You get it?
Aain I will say.....Their is NO WAY IN HELL that HQ is not planning something big. They are keeping it a secret. I expect something huge. We shall see. Dec 16th bayy....LETS DO THIS!!!!
Lets get 10 Million. I have $800 left out of my $2300....and I am doing it on the 16th!
$1500 went on Nov 5th.....my last $800 will go on the 16th!
Step it up people....and make sure you get people out at the voting stations with cameras......
I sure as hell want proof when this election is manipulated....GAME ON!
Relax a bit...
Remember that Dr. Paul's message takes more than a 30 second sound bite. The campaign is spending a lot on direct mail --nice 4 and 8 page introductions with *real information* that voters can use to make decisions.
These are sent to republican voters and if you are not in that group, in NH, IA, SC, etc. you'll not hear much more...
Sit tight. The ground swell is working.

Hold on...
Yeah the Lame stream Media hasn't covered ANYTHING of substance and you know why... they don't WANT a Dr. Paul as president.
Now as for hiring those two gentlemen who were in public office during the time huckabee was...
I BELEIVE THEY WERE HIRE TO TALK ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE THEY HAD IN AR. WITH HUCK ....
NOT TO LIE ABOUT ANYTHING...
To simply give some interviews and REPEAT THEIR EXPERIENCES..
now does Dr. Paul know what THEIR experiences are??? no but he can find them if he did a google search.... and there they are... with Huck saying some stupid stuff....
So rather than REPEAT SECOND HAND INFO.... DR. Paul BROUGHT THE MEN THEMSELVES FORWARD... TO SPEAK WHAT THEY SEE AS TRUTH...
NOT TO LIE..
THE CAMPAIGN NEEDS ALL THE MONEY WE CAN AFFORD.. THEN 30 BUCKS MORE... AND THAT IS CHEAP FOR LIBERTY FROM CORP. C.F.R. ELITE
Aint it?
solutions
I thought the ads were O.K. I support getting the word out on Huckabee. It's not like they're attacking Huckabee personally, just informing people of his actions. What would you suggest they do differently?
Think about this..
Its more noble to bring in the actual people that worked with your opponent and went on the record BACK THEN against him..
Than to bring it up as second hand info and try and relate it to the people... especially with Muck Huck there twisting everything you would say into knotts...
THESE FOLKS WORKED WITH HUCK AND WENT ON THE RECORD... Huck told one... "he was drinking a different kind of jesus juice than I do"... over an illegal immigration bill
Agreed
I agree, i think people are just looking for something to get worked up over.
The reality is, Ron Paul has to win - and i see this as no compromise of his character.
It is however - an attempt to shed light on the competition, which we should all welcome. If not Ron Paul, then who?
I'm starting to agree
I hope they have something up their sleaves, but I'm starting to think that they don't. I'm afraid that Dr. Paul believes in a Free Market so much that he doesn't want to interfere with what the grassroots is doing.
I really wonder why they haven't been trying to get in the news. I mean they could have jumped all over a lot of issues or made a press conference like Romney or something. Sooner or later he is going to have to start acting like a front runner if people are going to take him serious. I don't want him to fall asleep at the wheel like Fred.
At this point in the game I think the campaign needs to pull on the reins a little and start coordinating with all the meetups or whatever. There appears to be 0 leadership and the efforts are all over the place, this is great in the beginning, but without a Goal, this could all be for not. I wish they would start putting out much more professional ads too. I mean give me a break!!! Yuckabee had a few very professionally done ads and he has NO money! And Ron had over 5 million in the bank at the start of the quarter. My guess is that he is hoarding it for the general election, but if they don't do something to spice up this campaign, there isn't going to be a general election for them.
I can only speak for Florida
But the Offical campaign is coordinateing with the meetup groups here. The Miami-Dade Meetup sponsered many events the day of the Univision Debate and Dr. Paul attented a post debate party at a local tarven. We will be opening an official office tomorrow here in Miami and 3 more around the state.
As for getting more press. That is hard to do when the media choses to ignore you or flat out lie. We had over 150 supporters outside of University of Miami but our local media refused to cover it. Instead they ran a story about the "Pro-Immigrant Legalization Alliance of Florida", a group with no web page, and only a hand full of members present.
I HIGHTLY doubt that. Ron Paul isn't just wing'n it.
"My guess is that he is hoarding it for the general election"
Ron Paul and campaign have stated that a huge portion of the money will be primarily spent on Iowa and NH. Ron Paul is quite aware that if he wins the Republican Nomination, he'll have plenty of money coming in from fresh donators.
You make some good points...
but I've seen Huckabee's ads, and I wasn't impressed by how professional they were.
