Rand Paul Cancels NBC's Meet the Press Appearance After MSNBC Pushes Lies And Doctors Transcripts

Rand Paul cancels Meet the Press appearance

After two days of bruising media coverage about his views on elements of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the campaign of Kentucky U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul tells me it has canceled the candidate's upcoming appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" -- something the show's host and producer are currently sounding the alarm about on Twitter.

"Rand did Good Morning America today, set the record straight, and now we are done talking about it," said campaign spokesman Jesse Benton. "No more national interviews on the topic."

This is probably the best

But still, it doesn't look good.

I'm glad he cancelled - enough is enough already!!

They piled on him the minute he won - already planned, I'm sure. Just forget it and get on with regular campaigning. Go to the people and you will not lose -

If NBC/MSNBC is going to ask canned smear questions straight from the DNC then they can kiss dirty ass, Rand is showing them who is in control of his campaign.

My advice to Rand

Submitted by scdecade on Fri, 05/21/2010 - 19:28.

Rand needs to stop caring if he wins. I believe this would be an enormous boost to his campaign because it would allow him to go on the offense about ideas. Ron Paul is the grand master at this. Michael Nystrom wrote a blog a while ago about Ron Paul having low expectations so he could always keep going without getting discouraged. Rand needs to do this now. He should go on the show and tell them the government doesn't have a natural right to a) make racial distinctions between people, and b) tell people who they must associate with on private property. Problem solved.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Cannot agree with this advice at all-The situation w/ Rand is

Far different from the situation w/ Ron. I have no doubt that Ron knows that and is advising Rand.

Ron has a very secure position which allows him to explore matters and educate very freely-that is a strength and weakness for him and he knows that.

Rand has a very good shot at not only winning the much more powerful Senate seat but also the much more suitable springboard to POTUS. Also, since Rand does not have a track record of telling the unabashed full truth he does not have a history that can trip up a POTUS run as easily as Ron's history can be used to trip him up.

If you do not understand what I am attempting to explain please ask for clarification. This is vitally important to understand because I think Ron/Rand are doing what they are doing by very brilliant design and cognizant of the differing circumstances of each.

Again, this Rand thing has amazing potential if handled correctly. Ron can handle the duties of education by himself-for now.

What is our goal, what gets a more tangible result quickest:

Having another of us Rand w/ access to a national stage for a few weeks or months so he can say the same things Ron gets to say on the national stage all the time?

Or

Having Rand stay as politically viable as possible, in the current climate/electorate liberty maturity level, so that he can actually achieve a position of power that allows making many of our ideas legislative reality. Rand has a better chance at becoming POTUS eventually than Ron has-How much national stage/educating and making ideas reality does a POTUS have compared to a candidate for Senate?

"You are a den of vipers and thieves."

I mean to rout you out!

-Just because you are among us, does not make you with us

-The door is wide open, anything can slither in

How's that?

You wrote: "Ron has a very secure position which allows him to explore matters and educate very freely-that is a strength and weakness for him and he knows that."

Are you sure you don't have that backwards? The reason Ron has a very secure position is because he freely educates and explores matters of freedom. Which makes more sense, the way I wrote it or the way you wrote it? It's not the position which allows him to do those things it's the man. A Ronslide is even more tilted towards success and freedom than a Randslide. Ron was just reelected by a ridiculous margin, something like 80%. This at a time when Congress as an institution has an approval rating below 10%. Shouldn't we believe Ron's utter dominance was a result of his voting record and his dedication to the ideas of freedom?

The MSM didn't help Rand get where he is so he owes them nothing. The MSM is now proven irrelevant because of Rand and the grassroots success of other freedom candidates. Are we supposed to let them cast a magical stupid spell on everyone now? The LAST thing the MSM would want would be for Rand to go on their show and twist them in knots about ideas. He should ask the questioners to explain how the commerce clause gives the government the right to decide how to categorize people racially. He should point out we're an integrated society with blended racial lines and it's too complex and divisive now for the government to separate the people into groups. He should say it's the popular opinion among the people that the government doesn't have the right to tell citizens who they have to do business with. He should acknowledge racism exists and is bad but to think a bunch of government bureaucrats and lawyers can solve it all from Washington DC is a proven failure. So the people are tired of being separated into categories and they're tired of being told what to do on their private property and they're tired of being robbed by the government to pay the bankers. Rand should walk all over the MSM and then leave when he's done using them. The MSM is irrelevant to the outcome as proven already. But it's an opportunity for some free advertising and to get the common sense message out.

Understand that I want the things that both Ron and Rand

can say to be said. Just differ w/ you on when would be the best time to do so. I do not just, as I assume is true with you, want these things said, I want them acted upon. If delaying saying some of these things increases the chance they will be acted upon I am for going that route.

We, as a group are not a good judge of what a cross-section of US voters can properly digest in the current environment-we already get it very well. They can eventually get it but years of BS programing and the current Media/FED environment cannot be broken through with the ice water in the face method and be NATIONALLY viable in the political arena in the most time efficient manner. Time is short.

"Are you sure you don't have that backwards? The reason Ron has a very secure position is because he freely educates and explores matters of freedom. Which makes more sense, the way I wrote it or the way you wrote it? It's not the position which allows him to do those things it's the man."

I did not explain in my original comment the basis of my conclusion that the Ron/Rand situations are different. The reasons are many. Consider these:

Ron thus far has been very successful winning and keeping his HOUSE seat. House seats are won in much smaller-congressional districts-not Statewide. Ron won his first term in the 70's-the 70's was a much different environment than today. Ron's constituents have had many terms to learn to trust and understand the man. Rand has yet to have an opportunity to demonstrate with action his trustworthiness-which I am certain time will prove he is the equal of his father in that regard(but I understand his father on par with the voters in Ron's district).

To answer the question you posed- "Are you sure you don't have that backwards?", No, I am not sure. I am not certain but considering all the factors considered, what is at stake, the upside/downside of each approach I stand by the recommendation to not go full bore at this time. All things considered I believe the odds of advancing further are greater which still allows more time and greater position from which to later go full bore.

No disrespect meant in differing on this matter-just differ.

Perfect. That is exactly what

Perfect. That is exactly what he should be doing. Squash it forever and become the new leader of the liberpublican party in 2012, all at the same time. I couldn't find anyone saying this.

Winning will be even better for education

If someone from the liberty movement can win, it will encourage other candidates to run and loudly broadcast the liberty message. Some of them might even be more outspoken than Rand.

Witnessing the dying gasps of the

Old Medias death grip on political discourse.

How dare Rand for declining to grovel at the feet of the masters of thought control.

F'em

This whole thing was predictable before it even started-so it never should have been allowed to start. Good job JB-fortunately our man should be able to survive your HELP.

BREAK

Brian, I mean this in the nicest way. Are you really on our side or are you just brain dead? Clarify his position? These people have no interest in understanding his position. Are you related to JB?

Suggestion to Rand:

I have noticed you tend to stand up straight with little movement when you speak as befits a forthright decent man.

Rand whenever you are being interviewed try to shift position and move your arms/head constantly-that will make any edits more obvious.

To MTP and the other Sunday morning public affairs programing that are(rather used to be) the cream of the PTB never ending engineered consent show(sponsored by the Military/Industrial Complex and Big Ag)-

LOL-Can you feel your grip slipping?-LOL

This and future treatment of Rand is not just about Rand. This is the PTB going full bore to destroy the awakening movement permanently.

It is surprising/concerning the level of grogginess exhibited by many in the movement.

"You are a den of vipers and thieves."

It would be nobel watch Rand

It would be nobel watching Rand fall on the sword for the cause of Liberty on MTP this Sunday. But, in the words of the immortal General George S. Patton:

"Hell, nobody ever won a war dying for his country. The trick is to get the other dumb son of a bitch to die for his."

In this case Patton was right IMO

Also shunning the NBC/General Electric war machine has its own value.

They are Dean-Screaming him

...and someone needs to brief Rand on "public accommodations." They are trying to peel off his liberal support because he is a threat. He needs to come back strong and disciplined.

Some one needs to brief Rand on the issue as it is settled. A "restaurant" , "bar" "hotel" is not exactly a private home, the Supreme Court decided, because it is a "quasi-public facility" often regulated by the town, i.e. a liquor license or whatnot, in which strangers not known to you are walking in and out of the establishment freely. Not exactly like your private home, not mine, anyway.

The Supreme Court decided that this was grounds for demanding non-discriminatory behavior based on race, since "all men were created equal" in rights, if not in abilities. This was probably the last thing the Supreme Court did right.

For a case law briefing the Rand Paul campaign can contact me at my listed contact here. I'll do it for a fee. Sorry I can't do it free, my girlfriend will kill me, as she is already helping me with rent. He needs to say, I was shooting my mouth off about something I did not fully understand, but now I do. Make sure he is seen in the company of distinguished Black scholars or lawyer friends, who say "look, this is my man, and don't you call him a racist." Because if there is one thing Rand Paul is not, is a racist. He needs to get his brothers to save his nigger ass, and say "this is our buddy."

What one resists, persists.

Instead of letting the MSM run the conversation perhaps a discussion of the Declaration of Independence and inalienable right of all men.

Followed by a discussion about how 125 years since the Constitution we find ourselves with a lot of work to be done. In fact we have backtracked on important advances such as "habeus corpus" and due process to name two.

Free includes debt-free!

The argument about a

The argument about a business being quasi-public place because people you don't know are walking in freely unlike your home is irrelevant. People are walking in freely because you allow them to. The Court decisions mean nothing if they imply a violation of rights. And then to use the "all men are created equal" - this is laughable... These chodes don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. We are equal in that we all have the right to Life, Liberty, and Property. It means nothing else... it has nothing to do with being able to buy stuff at a store, etc., etc.

The section of the Civil Rights Act which allows government to force private business owners to accept all customers has nothing to do with racial equality. They just saw the perfect opportunity to extend the reach of their power by bastardizing the commerce clause. Anyone who tries to stand up for this is ignorant of their rights.

So, you might need to think a bit more about your position. Rand is correct. A business is private property, business itself is the voluntary exchange of private property. No one except the business owner has the right to determine who he/she conducts business with - people might not like that but it is the truth.

Liquor licenses are unconstitutional even at the local/state level as they are a violation of individual liberty and voluntary exchange so using that as reasoning to call an otherwise private business public is just ignorance of law.

We can no longer use court decisions to justify changes in the meaning of our law. The courts are to interpret law according to the constitution, not to interpret the constitution itself.

The "Liberty Movement" must establish, as a principle, the rejection of Court Decisions as a determination of constitutional application.

The Civil Rights Act is unconstitutional as it violates individual property rights.

Debbie's picture

Very well said, zachnap -thank you! Businesses are private

property, period! I agree with all your other points, too, but that is the basis of this whole thing and I'm so glad Rand cancelled MTP and will never appear on MSNBC again!

I am stunned

They don't care about truth and liberty. They are whores.
