17 more states planning Ariz. 'illegal' crackdown

But ICE chief says feds might not 'process' illegals arrested by state

In what is developing into a standoff between states and the federal government that could be bigger than gun control or even health care, 17 states have launched versions of Arizona's immigration law, even as federal officials say they may not bother to process illegal aliens caught by the states.

William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, which has been trying to get officials to address the open southern border for years, warned the consequences could be dire.

"Over the last couple days, Obama and the chief of ICE have refused to honor their oaths of office," he said. "Their constitutional requirement is to enforce existing laws.

I emailed you earlier today, please check it when you can. We have a setup that you might agree with if you are still interested. It took us a while to get it figured out but it is a done deal now.

I was thinking about something the other day..

What would happen to our food supply and cost of food, should there be a mass deportation? Since illegals produce most of our food, ie; farms, meat plants, produce, fruits etc...

Should there every be a mass deportation, or just larger numbers going back, could this drive up the cost of our food? Economically it seems very realistic. The meat, vegetable and fruit corporations lose their cheap employment and food doesn't get produced as much, or the price goes up because of wage requirements, taxes and all the other burdens other employers have with hiring legal workers.

This should be something to consider, because we know how dependent our food supply is on cheap labor, and questionably legal at that.

Are we setting ourselves up for food rationing?

If you supply

your own food, you have nothing to worry about except for thieves. Be self sufficient and use heirloom seeds and heritage breed animals...that way you know they will last and reproduce.

Illegal aliens produce most

Illegal aliens produce most of our food? I'd question that. According to a 2006 article, illegal aliens made up approximately 5% of the workforce.

So, taking that into account, the majority of our food related jobs are still done by legal workers. According to that article, about 20 percent of that 5% of the workforce works in construction, and four percent is employed in agriculture. close to 25% of farmworkers are here illegally. I know that was 4 years ago, but the current numbers still wouldn't add up to a majority 4 years later. We also import food and that should be taken into account too.

Cost of food would go up a little bit if a majority of illegal aliens left the U.S., but not a massive increase such as 10 bucks for a head of lettuce, as some fear. Here is an article on that subject

With All The Unemployed...

those jobs would get filled quickly, we picked and farmed all our crops before people from Mexico ever came here and we'll do it again. I crated plums (prunes) when I was still in grade school and it didn't kill me. It's honest work and plenty of high school kids would do it if they wanted to earn money.Good work experience.

If Washington doesn't to

If Washington doesn't to process illegals for deportation, the states will do that too.

Let me ask a question. Is dereliction of duty an impeachable offense? I think so.

If this keeps up, the people

If this keeps up, the people of LOST Angeles will only be able to buy two things because the City Council will have boycoted importing from everyone... What will they be able to buy? Oranges and Porn. It's the only thing that RAT hole of a place produces, and they do that crappy also........

WND = Zionist, Israel First Propaganda website.

World Net Daily is a news aggregation website with some original content. Farrah, its editor is and extreme Christian conservative who believes in bible prophesy and who believes that Israel is never, ever wrong, and that America MUST follow Israel's without importance to the cost.

They disseminate propaganda from known official Israeli propaganda sources, were extremely critical of Ron Paul during the 2008 election, and were the crucial push for Huckabee just as Ron Paul was getting some steam.

It does not surprise me that WND, is the main pusher on the net of the very controversial Birth Certificate issue, and are now pusher of the immigrant controversy.

It seems to me that these are diversionary tactics that are conceived to make us look like fools and xenophobes.

We know that no amount of birth certificates, or brown people in the US will make a difference as long as the private Federal Reserve continues to print fiat money giving it in profit to the bank owners and to their friends in Washington to spend.

I hope that we are smart enough to see these as the distractions that they are.

that AND

the constant marketing of new books, DVD's etc. Some of their stuff is interesting, some seems like propaganda. But I feel that way about Dr. Mercola too. Sift through their sites for information, then take only what you need.

You make it sound as if

You make it sound as if nothing worth reading comes out of WND. I'd disagree, as I have read some articles that would be of interest to Ron Paul supporters. I don't like the stuff they put out that looks like it was written by AIPAC, but they've published articles exposing the globalist North American Union/Nafta Superhighway agenda, problems associated with illegal immigration(one can certainly be anti-illegal immigration and pro-legal immigration like Ron Paul is, and not be a xenophobe), among other things, as well as positive articles on Ron Paul. Case in point here

IF ICE wants to be selective in

obeying the immigration laws then these states should be selective in sending tax money to Washington. Let the FEDS rot on the vine so to speak.

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

I see nothing strange about it.

The FedGov goes AWOL or derelict, and refuses to do one of the few actual jobs that they were intended to do, so the state gov's pick up the ball.

This Morton character from Homeland Security needs to see some hard prison time.

We all know why

The FED controls the Federal Government now.

if there is anyone else with a little time on their

hands, I would like a response to the below:

about the 'real' issue here.

Just asking.

Not a big deal.

Writing it out helped me think it through, and I think I might be at least partly 'right'. Not the political 'right' . . .

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I see your point 1988 but

keep in mind that Az. has been trying to do something about illegal immigration for 20 years, long before the theory you speak of was even a situation at hand. They have finally had enough with the current violence of the MS13 and the criminal cult of Santa Muerte.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Protest Columbus Day Denver Colorado (Aztlan)

Pay special attention to what the dirtbag says at about 2:10 with the red baseball hat.If you are European they hate you and want you dead or gone from CA,NV,TX,NM,AZ,CO and thats just for starters...

This IS the mindset of most all of the illegals and supporters of La Raza,Mecha,Aztlan,Brown Berets ect. A very large portion believe in a violent overthrow and many have been training militarily for it for ever waiting for the right moment.

Having lived in CA all my life and with all that is going on in politics right now I think we are right at the edge and just the right spark is going to kick off the worst race war ever imagined. It will dwarf anything that happened during the civil rights movement...

Hopefully the machete movie

Hopefully the machete movie coming out this september will not be the spark to set things off, but it could be according to some

It Could Be The Movie Or The 17 States That Are Going To Use

AZ law as a guide for their States...or an amnesty for 30+ million people, either way we lose. They get an unstoppable voting block if it's amnesty/citizenship and the Democrat/Marxist/Socialist will gain control forever or we'll probably go into a full blown race war if all those States write an AZ type law...amazing how we are being set up.Any law enforcement officer can ask anyone without any probable cause to prove their citizenship according to the Supreme Court.

Thomas,Just curious ?

Have you read it?:

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

does anyone else see this:

1: that this issue of immigration is keeping *us* from thinking about the perpetuation of wars in the middle east

2: that it is another panic/scare/threat of terrorism tactic (terrorists are crossing the borders, leaving military jackets and Islamic prayer blankets; does that sound like false flag to anyone here?)

3: that the idea of a 'stricter' law sounds good and appeases frightened (why are they frightened?--the MSM) Americans, but will it reduce crime and thuggery or just harrass innocent people, who aren't criminals, other than being illegal?

4: is dividing Americans?

Am I the only one who sees that this isn't a black and white issue?

I believe in states' rights, but something smells badly here--

Obama dislikes Arizona's law, seems to think it is inhumane, but he recently proceeded with a law of some sort that made it possible for anyone to be called a terrorist, any American, anyone anywhere; so why is he disagreeing with Arizona's law? Does anyone find this suspicious?

I do. Whenever I ask questions about this law, it is implied or accused that I don't believe in states' rights and that I am a communist, etc.

This is feeling like another Patriot Act to me, only it feels better to most Americans, because it is directed at illegal aliens.

I am suspicious. I suspect another set-up. This was too easy. Too many Arizonans support this and think it will solve the problem, yet it will introduce even more police intervention. After years and years of allowing illegal immigration, why NOW?

Something is up, and it's not liberty/freedom.

Friends in Arizona point to havoc being wreaked by Mexican drug lords--

but . . .

they wouldn't exist were it not for the War on Drugs created by our government, and *we* know how successful (heavy sarcasm) that has been; we have full prisons at what cost, anyway. Libertarians, how does that feel?
Not good to me, and I'm not a drug user!

and . . .

how many drug lords or 'big guys' in any crime syndicates are ever caught? THESE people have massive amounts of protection, and they know how to escape justice.

No, American policemen have lately shown that they are good at frightening elderly women into heart attacks, throwing pregnant women down on the ground, killing sleeping 7 year old girls and beating up legal immigrants--

so, Arizona will "win" with this law--

somehow I don't think so.

There is a catch in all this.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

You're not the only one who

You're not the only one who thinks that, 1988 vote! I sadly see illegal immigration being the biggest "Problem-Reaction-Solution" setup TPTB has created for the last decades. We're officially being guinea pigs for these scumbags. The catch is the following: either allow 20 million illegals to get amnesty or get a national biometric ID. I'm afraid this has all been staged since the 50's after Eisenhower's "Operation Wetback" and during the times of the Bracero Program. There were many guest workers who overstayed their visits and were even legalized thanks to Ronny Rambo's amnesty of '86.

Repeal the drug laws. Repeal birthright citizenship (ala 13th

amendment), and repeal welfare. That will take care of the problem. No free anything for illegals. If they get sick - treat to stabilize and as soon as it can be safely done, transport (to their home country). The wall they are building will keep US citizens IN as well as aliens out.

Mexico is much harder on those who enter their country illegally

Than we are...I agree with you entirely, this seems to be a balanced approach that reasonable people would agree on.

"Reasonable"people,is this possible when one side will always be dishonest?

I like the way this battle is

I like the way this battle is further opening a divide between the Feds and various states. And also how it is starting to pit states against each other (AZ vs CA).

BUT, the "conclusion" that nothing serious can happen unless "we" win in 2010, is defeatist in the extreme. Deferring to the Federal government an issue so obviously contentious and geographically divisive, is exactly the kind of mealy mouthed pushoverism that has allowed the Feds to usurp so much power in the first place.

What needs to happen, is AZ, as well as the other states on that list, passing, with AZ (and other) voters becoming sufficiently awake to toss out all legislators voting nay, legislation that says federal income taxes will be paid to a state escrow account. Then, the state will submit funds to the Feds, but with the important caveat that money for things like border patrol will be withheld and spent locally. As would money charged for noncompliance with health insurance mandates and other nonsense. If the Feds can't manage to find a way to keep immigration properly regular, AZ should do it on it's own. On the Feds' dime, as they are the ones responsible in the first place, and it;s not like they're not taxing AZ residents enough to be able to afford it.

Without such an intermediate way station between tax payers and the Feds, the Feds will forever bypass a state and tax its citizens. And then, tell the state that if it wants any of the money back, it has to comply with all kinds of federal mandates, even if people in the state never wanted them in the first place. We need to get state legislators on this bandwagon, and make sure to toss out everyone who prefer their cushy jobs as patsies cozily inserted between Massa Washington and the people they are supposed to protect and serve.

This is the kind of legislation I'm talking about:

Instead of all manners of more or less salubrious R's talking tough about "standing up to obama", but ultimately deferring to Washington anyway, this is what we need for some real readjustment in the relative power between states and the Feds.

My opinion

If AZ refuses to deport them..then get a few retired..or just out of the service, men and women, to take them all the areas they destroy when they cross over..(littering..killing cattle and so on) and make them clean it up...as they are marched back across the border.
I have always said that any illegal caught should have everything they have gotten here stripped from them...and sold..at auction (one poor people can afford cause God knows I need a tv) and the money should be split....1 part to be sent to those who had property damaged from them..the other to people who make sure they get back across that border.
As far as the kids of illegals..if they born here, give the mother 2 choices...#1) take your baby and go back home...or you get to go back home w/o him/her..
I also think any so called aide we give to a country..should if nothing else, have the cost of shipping back they people, plus what we spent on that illegal, deducted.

I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change

How disgusting.

You suggest above that you want to steal people's property and forcefully separate families, gee... you're full of the spirit of liberty and freedom aren't you?

If federal officials refuse

If federal officials refuse to do their job in processing illegal aliens from AZ, then AZ should sue them for discrimination. Because if the federal government is going to continue processing illegals from other states, then their refusal to process AZ's illegals is discriminatory.

You would think if the feds thought they had a case against AZ's immigration law they would have filed it already. However, by this current statement about refusal to process AZ's illegals makes one wonder if they would have a leg to stand on if they brought suit against AZ for 1070?

Put them on a chain gang if FEDS wont take them.
