Why is the oil price dropping???

Trans-Alaska Pipeline, Owned By BP, Shut Down After Oil Spill

If BP was a comatose patient on a ventilator, this is where the doctor would say, "enough, better luck next time" and pull the plug. With the firm about to see a lynch mob on its corporate HQ grounds any day now, the last thing the company can afford is news of another oil spill. Enter Murphy's law. Reuters reports: "The Trans-Alaska Pipeline, partly owned by BP, shut down on Tuesday after a crude oil spill, drastically cutting supply out of Alaska's oilfields." The only good news out of this: it is now abundantly clear that actual oil supply and demand are the last things on anyone's mind when determining what the price of crude should be. Kinda like pretty much every other asset in America these days.

More from Reuters:

The accident comes at a difficult time for BP -- the largest single owner of the pipeline, holding 47 percent of Alyeska -- as it struggles to plug a gushing Gulf of Mexico oil well.

The shutdown followed a series of mishaps that resulted from a scheduled fire-command system test at Pump Station 9, about 100 miles south of Fairbanks, said Alyeska Pipeline Service Co, the operator of the 800-mile (1,287 km) oil line said.

The power outage triggered opening of relief valves, causing an unspecified volume of crude oil to overflow a storage tank into a secondary containment. There were no injuries, but the work site was evacuated, Alyeska said.

North Slope oil producers have been instructed to cut their flow to 16 percent of their normal rates, Alyeska said.

Alyeska is a consortium owned by five oil companies. Major owners are BP, ConocoPhillips (COP.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and Exxon Mobil (XOM.N: Quote, Profile, Research). Unocal and Koch hold minor shares.

The Trans-Alaska Pipeline, which runs from Prudhoe Bay to the tanker port of Valdez, normally ships about 667,000 barrels of oil daily.

This is the very reason they would not report the amount of oil

spilling into the Gulf. If anyone truly knew how much they extracted, and then applied that to futures, then the people would cry foul when they raised oil prices for massive profit. I am still waiting for the main stream media to interview a survivor that was rescued from the rig, or multiple survivors for that matter out of the over 100, what is the hold up? Let’s hear from the folks that were there, not the CEO or a corporate plant with an agenda, the people deserve to know. I guess in today’s government controlled media that is too much to ask. Anyone seen any posts from survivors online? It is quiet odd that the best they can do is run a live feed of a hole in the ocean floor, yet not one of the 100+ survivors has been on to tell the tale, only mouthpieces for BP, and short of a national article, where was the coverage of the memorial service? Lest we forget that Obama made not only an appearance at the memorial for the miners, but also gave the following speech:

So my question remains and should be asked on all websites discussing the oil spill, where is the coverage of the survivors? Search BP oil rig survivor and "Mike Williams" is the man that made it on to 60 minutes, then there was the single article of Stephen Davis:

And lastly all I could find was the article and perhaps the true account of Christopher Choy, who stated that after trying to rescue crew members to no avail and being held on a ship for 7 hours before heading to shore, he was requested to fill out paperwork of what he saw happen, then again when he was reunited with his family. It is interesting that in the midst of all that had happened there were people that were very interested in getting signatures stating that individuals did not witness the explosion as mentioned here:

"Choy was later reunited with his wife at a Louisiana hotel. As the Choy’s prepared to return home to Houston, they said they were approached by representatives of Transocean's insurance company at the hotel to sign a form.
The document reads: "I was not a witness to the incident requiring the evacuation, and had no firsthand or personal knowledge regarding the incident."
But the bottom of the form reads: "I was not injured as a result of the incident of the evacuation." Below that, Choy signed and initialed it."

I wonder if the flight that landed in the Hudson's frozen waters were given the same form? Strangely all aboard were offered day 1 interviews with big media, yet 3 individuals so far are all I can find from possibly the greatest disaster since Chernobyl in over a month after the spill? Sounds like another cover up for big oil at the expense of how many lives and businesses that rely on clean gulf waters.

One of the many to follow while the elite try to hold on. But try as they will, their time is over. Soon enough it will be raining cats and dogs (fat cats and big dogs, that is) and there will be dancing in the streets - or singing in the rain, if you prefer, for the meek WILL inherit the earth! I say let it rain.

Reuters owns AP. Both are Fed-Res cheerleaders... Here is my take posted on DailyPaul moments ago.

Beyond points in the link above, it is abundantly clear the secret, private Fed-Res Bank pays well to influence whatever.

The Fed feeds us full of .... Leads us to make-believe legal tender can value whatever in dollars. Just not true. You must value your purchases on your own.

DailyPaul has documented many instances of suppression and|or manipulation of:

  • Gold and Silver (1996 - present JP Morgan and HSBC naked shorts on GLD and SLV; CFTC Cheerleader all those years; seldom delivered, just gambling)
  • Oil all the way up to $147 / barrel (Goldman and Morgan Stanley on their brand new International Commodity Exchange... ICE; naked long, then suddenly naked short; seldom a barrel delivered, just gambling)
  • News is used to confuse or cover.
  • Fed trying to extend their private fiat monopoly.
  • Fed. Loaning you blind, since 1913.

Why is the oil price dropping?

Supply and demand.

Are you kidding? Have things

Are you kidding?

Have things changed that much since May08? Sure things have slowed but people still drive, take pills, use plastics, etc. Moreover, China is still growing and still a dragon in the need of fossil fuels. And the US military is still over extended.

The demand may have ebbed but it still exists and this spill should have at least made oil pop up somewhat dramatically but it hasn't and that is surprising.

Sorry, but every single market in the US is fundamentally broken....

NO, I'm not kidding!

You said,"Sorry, but every single market in the US is fundamentally broken...."
That's what they want you to think; they want you defeated. Don't let them have that...

And you said, "...this spill should have at least made oil pop up somewhat dramatically but it hasn't and that is surprising."
That's because they have been BUSTED! (although, on only THIS front, so far - we must go one step at a time and this is just the beginning). The quantity of this oil field was to be kept hush-hush so they could overcharge us, as they have been doing for a long time. Why do you think they turned reporters away from the area?
My point is this - their reign is over. The prophecy is, "The rich shall become poor and the poor shall become rich."

Talking about Casinos being rigged...

Wallstreet is the biggest Casino, and yes nobody is fixing it, not even the most conservative folks on the planet.

This is what the above

This is what the above article exudes. Just another rigged market. Why anyone would trade on a US market is beyond me....
